View Full Details of Fosse HouseOur mum has been a resident at Fosse House since December 2024. At what was a very difficult time for her and the family, was made so much easier, by the kindness and compassion of all the staff and management there. Nothing was too much trouble, everyone had time for mum and us, no matter how busy they were. We especially love hearing the laughter and seeing the happy faces of the residents and carers who always seemed to be around. At what can be a very trying time for families, it was such a relief to find a place that treated the residents and families with respect and in such a caring way. We found the facilities and food to be first-class and varied, mum enjoys it all. We would happily recommend Fosse House to any family who find themselves on this difficult journey. Our fondest love and thanks to all at Fosse House.
The receptionists are always bubbly, happy and welcoming, majority of the staff are excellent. The buildings and grounds are well-maintained, there are accessible gardens for warm days which are pleasant and inviting. It differs from day to day from the smell which can be off-putting. I noticed from the pictures, which are on social media, my brother does not seem to be included in activities. Surprisingly and shocking is the letdown of these prepared meals, they are inedible or not cooked thoroughly, disappointing.
The treatment of residents is of the highest order. My needs are fully met, especially the care and effort by management to cater for my social and dietary requirements (I am Asian). The management have ensured that I get Asian meals, Asian church visits and even Asian musical sessions. Generally, I feel very secure and at home at this care home. Evening activities are ok, but somewhat limited, although board games are supplied.
My father has been very well cared for during what has been a difficult transition from independent living to residential care. During this period his physical health has improved due to a greater level of activity within the home. The care team look after him well.
My wife had stayed several times in Fosse House, both for convalescence and to allow me respite from home care. Experience of the care and activities provided for my wife during these short periods of residence left me and our two sons in doubt that my wife should become a resident in September 2019. She has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and was therefore admitted as requiring dementia care. She consistently received appropriate care and stimulation up to her death on 21/12/22.
Fosse House is a very welcoming care home. The staff are very friendly. Residents are well taken care of. All their dietary needs are met. They get regular drinks and medication, and if they need any health support, a doctor will be contacted. They communicate well with relatives and are always obliging. The hygiene levels in the home are good, and residents are kept clean and tidy.
Throughout the last few very difficult months as my mother gradually faded away all the care team staff and managers have been thoughtful and sensitive in dealing with her last moments. Also looking after my father (also a resident at Fosse). Ensuring he was given all he needed support wise to deal with very sad circumstances and then trying to lift him up again whenever or got too much. Which meant I was able not to worry about him on top of my own sadness a great relief.
Fosse House is such a lively place, where residents can feel at home! It's bright and spacious with an in-house cafe. Quite honestly I don't know what I would do without it! Mum loves the coffee there and the music and decorations make them all feel happy and relaxed. We often have a sing-along all together. The activities are brilliant. The staff work so hard at keeping them occupied. My mum loves playing oomph! plus exciting things are being planned. Mum is very settled there, for her it's home. We are very happy to know she is in this caring environment.
The staff at Fosse house are very friendly and helpful. My mum is well cared for and the staff are good at communicating her needs. The activities that I have attended are lovely the singing on a Sunday morning and the namaste room is nice. I hope to see some more activities when visiting. I think Fosse House is a lovely place with very caring staff I am always made to feel welcome.
I would just like to say that I have found the general care here very good. However, the care given by one staff member has been excellent - encouraging my mum to have a shower/strip wash and therefore making her feel better, taking the time to explain to her what is going on and why. The other person who also needs praise is the person in charge of entertainment - great commitment.
My mother has been at Fosse House for a few months now and seems content. The social spaces are homely and personalised with photos and mementoes for the residents. I feel comfortable that my mother is being looked after well and is secure. As a visitor, I particularly like the cafe as a facility. The way my mother has settled in reassures me that Fosse House is the right choice for us as a family.
I have always had friendly and helpful treatment in reception and from care staff. I am a military pensioner and aware of good services from many years in service mess accommodation, initially in many countries where there was a British presence. I enjoy every visit to the person who is quite aged.
The care my mum has had from everyone at Fosse House has been exceptional. I am kept up to date at all times of her progress and the care she is receiving. I am so pleased that her time here has been happy and comfortable.
From day one two years ago I have been treated with the utmost respect by all that I have communicated with and my wife seems to love all the staff around her.
Absolutely wonderful couldn't be happier with the care my mum receives here.
The wonderful staff at Fosse House Care Home came to my family's rescue at a dark moment when we were at a cross point with caring for my mother's dementia. She had fallen in hospital, we had to find a home for her. Fosse House sorted all the immediate problems, settling Mum in within four hours. We are deeply grateful for their wonderful care.
it was my first Christmas, I was led to believe that it was going to be all jolly and fun with a proper dinner, with all the trimmings. In our dining room it was just me and one other, I thought the residents would be together but no, we had a cracker, no decorations. Back to the food, I could hardly call a Christmas dinner, no Christmas pudding. In all, it was very dull, not even some music. All very poor. ps. the new jug and glass is ridiculous, why? That must have cost a lot for all of us, waste of money.
All staff very helpful and pleasant, making staying here very pleasant.
My wife has been a resident at Fosse House for nearly three years now. Her dementia has slowly progressed and she is now confined to her bed. During this time the staff at Fosse House have cared for her with compassion and tenderness, making sure she is always as comfortable as possible. Her medical needs have also been well attended to. There appears to be an ethos at the home which brings out the best in the people who work there. They are always friendly and helpful, supportive of each other as well as the residents, and are well trained and attentive to the residents' needs. The accommodation is clean and pleasant. The food is excellent and, even though my wife's meals now have to be pureed, they are well presented and varied. During the periods of Covid lockdown, I believe the home was kept secure and safe while still allowing carefully controlled access for residents' visitors whenever possible.
When I visit my mum she is always happy and relaxed cheerfully with the staff. Her room is clean, clothes are in order; these things are important to me as I feel she's happy. The staff are always obliging and cheerful. Mum always looks well. I have no fear of her feeling alone as they incorporate her in a lot of activities and outings. Before mum would be stubborn and a little recluse, the home have pulled her out of her shell. Mum also says she has many friends there which makes me happy too.
