View Full Details of Greenhill Care HomeMy father was at Greenhill for the last few months of his life. His dementia was very advanced by that time - he was able to enjoy only the present moment. At Greenhill, the present moment includes beautiful gardens, with ancient oaks, cheerful marigold flowers and thoughtfully designed pathways and seating to make it all accessible to someone with limited mobility. Being able to be in nature - surrounded by beauty and held by Mother Earth - was a true gift. The garden tearoom is carefully and beautifully tended - the tables are set with linen tablecloths and vintage china tea cups and there are baskets of books and knitting yarn, so it feels homely - like visiting a lovely old tearoom. I was deeply touched by the warmth, respect and sincere care I felt from the manager - I honour her loving heart. We stayed by my father's side in his final days - I witnessed so much genuine care and goodwill, day and night. We were all looked after with empathy and compassion. My heartfelt gratitude.
We cannot thank the staff enough for the care and support we have had for Mum and us. They have been amazing, Mum loved being part of the Greenhill Care Home family. The care, support and love given to us in the last 48 hours of Mum's life made her passing so much easier. I highly recommend Greenhill to any family needing more help and support with a parent.
I moved my husband into Greenhill Care Home when I could no longer care for him at home due to late-stage dementia. He enjoyed the gardens and lovely tearoom during the summer months. He was treated with kindness, patience and genuine care by all staff members throughout his time there. The family were equally well supported and cared for during his final days when we stayed with him 24 hours a day. It genuinely felt like "Home" - What more can you ask? Our grateful thanks go to all staff members - The excellent manager who leads by example, the loyal and caring staff who showed concern and care beyond all expectations and not forgetting the unseen "backroom" staff - cleaners, gardeners, cooks (Those homemade cakes are definitely 5* ). Together they have created a true home. I am very happy to recommend it to all.
I was deputy for my aunt's affairs and unfortunately, she was not coping. She was neglecting herself and they were concerned about her behaviour and appearance. Eventually, she was placed under DOLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) order and Greenhill was a temporary placement However, the care and sensitivity of the staff was amazing. The social worker depressingly pointed out when she was admitted that she would probably not engage with any social activities. But she did and would join in with singing and dancing and card games with the staff. My aunt was a difficult woman and very demanding. But they seemed to have this unbounded patience and kindness. She was now clean, well-dressed We never moved her even though the location was impractical for us, because of their level of care. She passed on the 31st of July, I will never forget their care and kindness. The last time we saw her we took her out by wheelchair to the beautiful gardens and she bathed in the sunshine.
My father was treated with kindness and compassion from the minute he came to Greenhill Care Home. He was welcomed into a community where he could relax. He and we (his children) were secure in the knowledge that he was well cared for, liked and celebrated for who he was, and as he was with his dementia. His carers always treated him with dignity and respect. We were supported spiritually and practically in his final days. We were encouraged to hold him, reminisce, play and sing to him his favourite music. He died peacefully surrounded by those who loved him. We now have special memories for which we will be eternally grateful.
My father was moved to Greenhill in Sept 2023, and from the first day to the last, was treated as "one of the family." He was always clean, tidy and above all happy. We were able to move small items of furniture and personal belongings into his room, which made it feel comfortable and familiar. The care home grounds are fantastic. This meant regular walks easy and stimulating. Staff were excellent, with strong management.
My mother spent a short time in Greenhill Care Home, but I felt that the staff were very welcoming and caring. My mother was treated with respect and the staff were encouraging her to walk and eat when she was struggling and didn't eat properly. Mum was monitored carefully and I was kept updated on her health and wellbeing. She had a lovely clean room and the whole care home was clean and well-cared for. Staff made a great effort to make sure that Mum was always in her own clothes and laundry didn't get mixed up, this attention to detail was much appreciated by the family. I was touched when the manager attended Mum's funeral, I thought that was so kind.
Unfortunately, my husband was only in Greenhill for three weeks. The support they gave to me and my husband on his admittance was excellent. They kept me informed of how he was settling in, and all the staff were very supportive of his needs, and I could visit at any time (within reason). In the latter stage of his life, the care was second to none and they cared for him with dignity and empathy.
My mother-in-law is there and she is so happy. The staff can't do enough for them and when we visit we always get a cup of tea. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are lovely, always clean I would recommend it. Had a Christmas party which I went to and enjoyed put on a good spread of food for all the residents and the families. Great place.
My second respite stay at Greenhill. Brilliant staff and management. Nothing is too much trouble, very caring, professional and always cheerful. Food is varied and good, grounds are fantastic. Thanks for a great stay. Best staff ever!
We were very happy with the care we received for my Dad whilst at Greenhill. The carers were all amazing and looked after my dad so well. My special thanks to the lady (who he loved especially) and to the man he liked. My only criticism was I would have liked to be kept informed of doctors' visits - what happened and told when the doctor was seeing Dad - so I could choose to be present if I wanted to and given feedback at least afterwards.
During my respite three week stay, staff were excellent in all ways. Friendly, caring and attentive but not pushy and treated all residents (many with differing abilities) with respect and kindness. They made the home as near a 'home' as possible. Quality and choice of food was good. Lovely grounds and gardens with lots of seating. Facilities were good, although an additional lift would be useful. Staff were professional and organised and the home is well managed. I have no complaints and thank everyone who made my stay there safe, pleasant and comfortable.
My mother, who recently passed away, was a resident for 30 months, and during that period, the care she received was excellent. The management and staff were both caring and efficient and treated her with respect. I would have no doubt about recommending the home to anyone who asks.
We would thoroughly recommend Greenhill Care Home for your loved one. In Mum's time at Greenhill (four and a half years), she was treated with the utmost respect. Although she suffered from severe dementia and was unable to speak, we could always tell that she was happy there. We cannot thank enough the wonderful staff and team for their care and dedication.
Mum was admitted to the home with dementia four years ago. She settled in very quickly with the help and support of your lovely staff, many of whom have been there for years. Pre-Covid, Mum was very active and enjoyed the activities, especially those of a musical nature. In the last year, Mum has become physically frail and was increasingly dependent on the staff to look after her. They were always kind and Mum loved them and personal care was good and administered with good humour. As a family, we are very happy with the home. In Mum's last few days, we were there at her bedside constantly, day and night. The staff were kindness itself to us. They kept us 'fed and watered' and comforted us when Mum sadly passed away. It only reinforced our opinion that Greenhill Care Home was the right choice for our lovely mum in 2018/
Mum moved to Greenhill in April 2019 and has just passed away there after nearly four years. Greenhill is a wonderful home and I cannot fault it. Even through the pandemic, they did a fantastic job. Mum was always treated with dignity and care. A lot of care was taken to understand Mum's history and family. All the staff are amazing and we couldn't have been happier with her care. A big thank you to all the staff at Greenhill.
My mother spent the last six months of her life at Greenhill Care Home and she was always treated with kindness and respect. The staff are all very caring even in sometimes difficult situations and looked after us as a family as well as my mum. I couldn't fault Greenhill at all and would recommend it to anyone.
Thank you so much, Greenhill Care Home Barnet. The staff and carers looked after my mum so well during her eighteen months there. There was always someone on hand for a chat when she was lonely and was well looked after when her health was failing. I really thank the management, staff and carers for making Mum feel that she was at home.
My wife was accepted to Greenhill Care Home in April 2020 and sadly passed away in October 2022. At first, it was difficult as Covid hit us and I cannot fault the staff who cared for her when she caught it and nursed her back to health. She was so happy and we were happy with the care and love they gave to her. I would recommend the care home to anyone that asked me.
My mother received wonderful care while she was at Greenhill Care Home. She was safe, happy and contented. The staff were amazing and treated her with compassion and respect. They were always helpful and professional. The beautiful gardens were a lovely, calm and relaxing place to sit with her. Our family will always be grateful that my mother was looked after so well in the last moments of her life.
