View Full Details of Guysfield Residential HomeGuysfield is an exceptional care home, with highly professional and empathetic staff, as well as taking great care of my husband, they've wrapped their arms around me. I liken it to being part of one big happy family. This gives such peace of mind, something that you cannot put a price one. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Guysfield for anyone's loved one.
My mum has been a resident at Guysfield Residential Home since October 2024. She came to the home for respite for my dad but unfortunately, he passed away 24 hours later. My family and I cannot express how wonderful the staff there were to my mum and ourselves. I visit Mum 2-4 times a week and I am always welcomed with a smile. Mum is always dressed so smartly. The staff are amazing and her room is always clean and immaculate.
I cannot praise Guysfield Residential Home enough, from the assessment and admission to the carers who are amazing. Everyone has been so helpful during the transition, which helped my mum settle, especially when we had other family issues. It's so lovely to know that my mum is being looked after and is beginning to make friends as she is being encouraged to join in, which she never used to. So thanks to them!
We cannot believe how wonderful and caring the staff are. We love coming to visit my mother-in-law here, the staff are so nice and caring and polite, it's a pleasure to come here.
My mum has been at Guysfield since April 2022. It was a very hard decision for us to do as my dad could no longer care for her needs. I cannot praise Guysfield highly enough. It has changed all of our lives for the better. All of the staff there are lovely and it's a relief to know that my mum is cared for so well - thank you.
All the staff are very helpful nothing is too much trouble and carried out in a friendly manner. I personally think it has to do with an excellent team leader who puts in 100% of everything she is involved with. All the staff get on with one another.
Thank you for looking after my mum-in-law during the years she was with you, but especially her final days. I saw the flowers and chocolate-themed treats you bought her (her favourites), and it was wonderful to see how much you'd done to make her feel loved, special and cared for when she was very unwell. Again, thank you. I felt the love from you and your team every time I walked into the home, and you were so kind, compassionate and thoughtful - not just to my mum-in-law, but to us as a family. It's been a huge comfort to my husband to see how well she was loved at Guysfield, and having her die there was what she - and we - wanted. I can't thank you enough for making that happen for us. I know it was a challenge, but one you went out of your way to rise to. My mum-in-law was in a couple of care situations before she came to you, and Guysfield was so much better. Having spent more hours there recently it's clear how incredible your team are, and what a wonderful job they do.
I have been and continue to be delighted by the care my mother receives at Guysfield. It has a lovely ambience, very caring staff and lots going on. Mum has been more relaxed and much happier since being there and enjoys all the activities on offer. The setting and gardens are beautiful! Overall... a quality residential home with an upbeat atmosphere.
The home seems clean and warm. Food is good, had lunch one day with him. It was lunch so not normal meal - pasta in tomato sauce followed by sponge and custard. Staff are very warm and friendly.
Absolutely excellent standards of care - friendly staff, very welcoming, exceptionally kind and caring. Great meals. Very good attention to individual needs and nothing too much trouble. All round ten out of ten! Very best care home I have visited.
Both my mother and aunt are residents at Guysfield, and the care they receive is excellent. The staff are welcoming and always help you with any questions or concerns you may have, there are plenty of activities for the residents to take part in, I have even taken part in the silent disco myself which goes down a treat with everyone, staff included. Mum loves her weekly visit to the in-house air salon and the tea trolley that does its rounds throughout the day. Guysfield is very homely, caring and accommodating to all.
My sister-in-law has, as usual, received an excellent standard of care. Recent changes to the type of meals and the timing thereof has been very beneficial to her.
My grandmother has been at Guysfield for two years, the team have been wonderful throughout this time. They have been particularly good at supporting her mental health and wellbeing and she now considers a lot of the team as family. They are very supportive of us as a family and always welcoming.
Very happy with care Mum receives. She is being looked after extremely well.
My wife is in The Letchworth Home. I feel she is very well cared for by the staff, who treat each resident as an individual and give them full respect. Access is available 24/7, always made to feel welcome. We see the home as it is run in real time, which is very good. Management and senior carers are always there for a chat or any concerns and are always ready to offer support to any relatives. There are regular relative/resident meetings. Overall, I feel my wife is well cared for in a safe environment.
Staff very friendly and welcoming. Mum seems very happy there. Gives me peace of mind that she is well looked after. Always things going on for residents. Lovely pleasant home and grounds. Staff are always happy to arrange anything for mum.
My mother moved to Guysfield Residential Home towards the end of March and she has dementia. It was an anxious time for me as she had been in hospital after a fall at home and was unable to live independently moving forward, a home was the only option. What can I say the team are amazing, always there to deal with any concerns I have and nothing is too much trouble. When I call and if staff are busy and I leave a message they always come back to me when they say they will. I have had easy access to the Manager and Deputy Manager when the need arises which is very reassuring. My mother has settled in very quickly and most importantly she is safe and is happy - what more could you ask for. A great weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
My mother has flourished at Guysfield. I needed emergency respite care whilst I was trying to find a live-in carer. Mum had started wandering and we don’t live in the area. However, it became clear that she was so much happier at Guysfield, with friends and a community, rather than in her own home with various one to one carers. The staff are amazing and when I dropped her back, she greeted them with huge hugs and a massive smile. I used to dread the phone ringing with the latest emergency, but I now feel far more relaxed knowing she is safe. Having watched her diminish with dementia over several years it’s fantastic to see she has her mojo back!
We recently placed my Uncle in Guysfield from his own flat in Suffolk. For the first couple of weeks, he seemed happy and we received regular pictures and updates from the Deputy Manager. The home’s website mentions that they deal with challenging behaviour and specialist dementia. Well, this couldn’t be further from the truth. My Uncle is a frail 86 year-old man and prior to moving to Guysfield had never shown any signs of aggression or using foul language. We received regular calls from the home quite often just before midnight – sometimes four times a day for trivial matters which should have been handled by a specialist dementia unit. We received a call from the Manager serving us four weeks’ notice which meant our dear Uncle had to be out by Christmas Eve. This was without consulting with the family or waiting for the Mental Health team’s assessment.
Helpful, caring, efficient and polite staff. They will help with whatever your needs or requests. The carers really are lovely and caring. The home is run very efficiently. The staff are polite and respectful to both residents and visitors.
