View Full Details of St Josephs Care HomeThe staff of St Josephs go the extra mile to look after residents. The general standard is extremely high in both to day to day care and the entertainment laid on.
My review is much the same as previous reviews I have made. St Joseph's has been Mum's home for almost four years, and during this time, I've never had the need to complain. I always feel welcomed and able to approach appropriate staff for information and clarification when needed. I also volunteer several afternoons, which I love. The residents are seen and treated as individuals within a wonderful and well-supported community.
Massive thumbs up again for St Josephs. Had my brother there for four years until he passed. He loved it there. Now a friend for whom I have POA and POA Finance has improved incredibly in the year since she agreed to go to St Josephs, literally a new lease of life for her. I 100% recommend St Joseph's to anyone needing full-time care. Great caring staff all around.
Mum has been in St Josephs for 6 years now. The care she has received during this time has been excellent. The home is well-maintained and always clean. The staff are kind, caring and welcoming. Mum is always treated with understanding and respect. I am very grateful to all the staff for the care they provide.
The home has been looking after my aunt, who has severe dementia, for over 4 years. They are very caring, friendly and professional and accommodating where possible. They seem to have a core of settled staff, which makes a difference.
My mother has been a resident in St Joseph's for 17 months. She is very happy, all the staff are amazing they are so caring and lovely. Mum has been on several outings and participates in the activities which are varied and take place daily. I feel that Mum is being well looked after and is safe and happy.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They often go the extra mile. Trips out are particularly appreciated by my mother and I am sure that she will love to continue to participate in them. Generally, the home seems to run very smoothly.
My mother is a recent resident of St. Josephs and she is very happy with the service the home is providing. I (her daughter) have found the staff to be most pleasant and cheerful, from your entry into the home and to those serving my mother her refreshments. The home is clean and well-organised. It is also a bonus that they provide hairdressing, chiropody and hygienist services to their residents. All in all, we are very happy all around.
My step-dad has been at St Josephs for 6 years now. The staff do a challenging and tiring job and do it very well. Dad has been well cared for and the staff give 100 per cent. It’s always clean, friendly and welcoming. Problems are addressed if they arise and discussed to find solutions.
My husband has been in St Joseph’s for more than a year now and I have been quite happy with his care. He has Alzheimer’s dementia and can be a bit difficult at times but he has been treated with the utmost care and respect. I am most appreciative of the care and attention he is given. He and all the residents always look very clean and well cared for and I know this is not always easy.
All the team are kind, helpful, friendly and cheerful as well as being effective and professional, especially with manual handling. It really does feel like the family at St Josephs is looking after my family!
My mother has been in St Josephs since the middle of May. Originally went for 2 weeks respite after hospital discharge, but no full-time care packages at home were available. Well, what can I say, she asked to stay a third week and then she decided to stay permanently. The difference of being with people has been remarkable, the staff are beyond caring, courteous, and as mother says they don’t miss a trick. I always said I would never see my mother in a care home but St Josephs goes above and beyond. My mother is so happy there.
My brother has been in St Josephs for just a year and has settled in well. He always looks clean and tidy, and the carers are very kind and thoughtful. We always get a friendly welcome when we visit and are quickly informed of any problems he has healthwise. It is very reassuring to us to know he is safe and well cared for, 24 hours a day.
My aunt has been at St Josephs for five years now and has been very happy. All of the staff are friendly and approachable and have coped brilliantly during the last two years of Covid restrictions and related difficulties. The atmosphere is always welcoming when we visit, the premises and the gardens always well maintained. The activities programme is wide-ranging, and my aunt enjoys the quiz and bingo sessions. As she approaches her 102nd birthday, my aunt is living proof that she is well looked after at St Josephs.
We are so grateful for the care the team at St Joseph's provides, especially as we cannot be there frequently enough for our friend. They are patient and understanding, especially when faced with some really challenging behaviours. Thank you!
Mum is thoroughly enjoying her time in St Josephs. She has made friends with the staff and other residents. There is also always something going on for her to join in with if she wishes. The garden is delightful, and the staff encourage residents to choose plants and carry out light gardening themselves. I feel very secure knowing that Mum is being excellently cared for, and I have seen Mum bloom since she first came in two months ago. A big thank you to all the staff for their kindness and understanding in settling Mum and the continued care and attention they give to Mum and me.
We continue to be very pleased with the care that St Josephs provides our mother, who has been in the home for over two years. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Mum has a nice room, and we (her family) can relax knowing that she is well looked after. Mum enjoys taking part in the activities and going into the garden.
Happy here.
To me, this home really is a home. I had a bad fall in one of the corridors recently, I was taken to the hospital very quickly. I had only been in the home for just over three months, I was in the hospital for three weeks. All the time they were making enquiries of my progress. On my return to St Josephs, I was so impressed by the true welcome I received, and the care and attention I received. From my own experience, I would say St Josephs really is a care home. After living in my home with my husband for over 60years, it was a heartbreaking decision by anyone in my position; I would recommend St Josephs every time.
I have found the staff to be almost always responsive and helpful in meeting the requests and needs of my Aunt and of my needs in contacting her during the pandemic. Some effort was expended in allowing me to contact my Aunt at a time that contact had broken due to technical problems which were resolved.
