View Full Details of Martins HouseMum was looked after throughout her stay until her peaceful end in December. The staff at Martins House were warm, attentive, kind, caring and genuine. Acting promptly when Mum's condition changed, always kept us up to date, asked for medical intervention and accompanied hospital appointments, arranged meaningful activities, outings and celebrations in an active way. Always encouraged Mum and respected her wishes. We knew she was safe and well-loved. Thank you all.
I live in Harlow and four years ago in January my mum was taken into respite at Matins House. We were so impressed with the love and care she received we opted for her to stay and we will travel rather than change to closer to us. I must say no regrets in our opinion! We love the staff, as does my mum. We are so happy that she has lived her last days with such a loving, caring bunch of people.
I could not have been more worried about my mother going into respite care as she was battling dementia but what I found when I arrived was truly wonderful. My mum has now become a resident due in no small part to the kind caring staff. They had so much time for me, my brother and my mum and the positive way in which the treated my mum was so heartwarming. At a time when all you do is worry, they have taken all our stress away knowing how well cared for she is. We cannot thank them enough.
As I had to have several procedures at hospital, my husband went into Martins House for two weeks respite. It was the first time that he had been into care as I am his main carer. He has Alzheimer's. I cannot fault the care that he was given. Everyone was so kind to him and thoughtful and considerate.
The care home manager has built a fabulous team of outstanding carers, together with two other staff members in particular, I would like to name each and every carer by name, but the page isn't big enough. The whole caring team at Martins House go beyond their remit in the kindness and professionalism they shower on the lucky residents who are looked after as if it is one big happy family at Martins House. Residents are so so lucky being at Martins House.
The staff here are all truly amazing. Nothing was ever too much trouble. They were caring, thoughtful and attentive. They gave Mum their time. My mum arrived after a traumatic experience, finding her partner dead. Her meds were all over the place, but Martinhs House gave her her confidence and strength back. Everyone is truly amazing; we will miss you so much.
Highly recommend for anyone's loved one. The carers treat everyone as an individual with their own personal needs and personality. Everyone involved in my mum's care and well-being were wonderful and treated her with respect. Thank you Martins House, I appreciate everything you did not only for Mum but also for helping me through the transition into the care home life.
Martins House is a safe place for my Mum to live. I know she is loved and cared for by the amazing staff my sister and I like to think of as extended family. It’s not only the highest standard of care Mum receives it’s the cleanliness of the home and the home cooked food prepared and served on a daily basis! Thanks guys for taking care of our lovely Mum!
We came over for my aunt's birthday. The room was decorated with balloons and banners and they gave us biscuits and tea and coffee. Lots of the carers came into the room to wish my aunt happy birthday. When we took her back to her room it was spotless. She had a lovely time.
My lovely mum spent the last one and a half years of her life at this wonderful care home. Martins House Care Home has completely changed my thoughts on what was my idea of a care home. All of the staff are the kindest people I've ever met. My mum has sadly passed now and we are all devastated. But the love, respect and dignity they all gave my mum we could never put into words how grateful we are. You all make such a difference. Thank you.
The rooms are comfortable with good facilities. The beds are comfortable. Staff are cheerful and helpful. Food is excellent with good choices. Staff are wonderful, cheerful and helpful. The garden is lovely. I have received good support throughout my stay.
Martins House staff were very friendly and took care of my nan for 4 weeks. They diagnosed a very severe bed sore/ulcer after being in hospital for two weeks. They put together an investigation regarding this and were very efficient, caring for my nan and following up this investigation. All staff were helpful and friendly. My nan was sad to leave there, after 4 weeks, when she went to a care home.
My experience with all the staff is excellent. They are all very friendly and the job they do is very good in looking after my sister-in-law. It's a very home-like care home and only wish we had found it earlier.
Some members of staff in their own time arranged an afternoon tea to celebrate Mother's Day. This also coincided with Mother's 95th birthday. We all had a wonderful afternoon with freshly made sandwiches and cakes. Tea was served in lovely china cups and saucers. A cake was made for my Mother and we all sang Happy Birthday. The afternoon felt very special and was a beautiful celebration of our Mother's on their special day. Thank you so much to the staff for their lovely idea and hard work arranging the event.
The staff were kind and caring! Safety checks were second to none. The food was very good and my father enjoyed his cooked breakfast every day! His medication was given on time every day and night. The district nurse, chiropodist and hairdresser were great! Activity was slightly lacking for residents who have full mental capacity as the home was mostly dementia residents.
The service from the whole team of carers and nurses is fantastic. From management and head nurses down to all the individual workers, we have received the very best, most exceptional service and care. We have been made to feel like we are welcome and valued. We have been reassured and guided through each step and are confident our loved one is well looked after. We are so pleased with the whole experience and only wish we had found Martins House sooner. The whole team deserve a lot of praise for their hard work and dedication. Thank you.
The lady I visit is now 95 years old and in very good health. Whenever I visit with my grandson she is always happy, clean, well dressed, her hair is washed and set regularly and at Christmas, the whole home was beautifully decorated. The activities are amazing. The lady I visit loves it when the dogs come. The home is a credit to you all.
When visiting today, my mother-in-law seemed low in spirits. The care shown to her by the two lovely new carers was second to none. They spent time with her and my mother-in-law was soon smiling again. Thank you all for the care and welfare you show to your residents, it is appreciated.
My dear mum was here at Martins House a few years and wow what a place. Not just a care home but a home full of love, kindness and compassion. The staff go above and beyond. So clean and homely, entertainment, games, music, films, the food is amazing. I cannot thank them enough. My sister and I cannot thank them enough for making my mum's life happy up until her passing.
My father spent some time at Martins House some years ago and when my mother required respite care upon discharge from hospital, Martins House was where she really wanted to go, despite the apparent anomaly of needing to pay full fees personally unlike a discharge elsewhere. The staff and management team are excellent, the food and care are extremely good, but it is the interaction with the residents which shines brightly. The home has a family ethos.
