View Full Details of Mountbatten LodgeI have been nothing but impressed by this lovely care home. It is led from the top by a manager who takes great pride in all that she does. She cares and that comes through into the staff who are all terrific. I feel that my mum is happy there and well looked after. Day to day the care is excellent but then there are also events within the home such as music nights which my mum greatly benefits from. On top, there are trips out which go over and beyond what you might expect. Thank you to you all.
This home is absolutely amazing, my dad is very hard to please but he loves it here, he loves the food. The staff and all the activities they do for the residents.. they do so much for them all and nothing is too much trouble. They are brilliant with them all and all the family/friends that visit..we couldn't ask for any more for our dad.
Really happy we decided on this care home for my grandma, the staff are very welcoming and they are always finding great activities to do with the residents whether it be for fun or to stimulate their minds or activities to help with exercise to help joints and muscles.
My view so far on Mountbatten Lodge, where my mum is very good indeed! Mainly down to the staff who are really very lovely very caring and I feel very comfortable when I leave my mum with the staff knowing she will be looked after! I think the actual care home in places is a bit tired and can do with modernising, but the main thing is the care and so far cannot fault it!
The amazing staff at Mountbatten Lodge have brought the spark and life back to my dad whom he had unfortunately lost at a previous home. They are nothing short of incredible, and they go above and beyond their duty of care every single day. There is no request too big or too small, and their person-centred approach is unmatched. I cannot express my gratitude enough to everyone who works there, for the commitment they show to all their residents. Seeing my dad with a smile on his face again and the twinkle back in his eye means the absolute world, and we as a family are forever indebted to them. Thank you once again for everything you do for your residents, it truly is an amazing home.
Mountbatten Lodge was a pleasurable experience. Familiar faces, events organized, a personal touch. The manager and their staff are quite special. Keeping in touch with us and pictures was a mind-relieving bonus. My mother always had a warm cup of tea whenever I visited. On D-Day when I popped in, the fish and chips looked fresh and inviting. Sadly I couldn't get take out, but my Mum enjoyed her lunch. Mum was cared for, her health and hygiene supported and I didn't have to worry about her. Thank you, Mountbatten Lodge. My mother stayed here for 2 weeks. I'm guessing my 5th star may well have appeared if given more time here. It is certainly my favourite so far in the UK.
This team puts the 'care' in care home! Apart from the day-to-day high level of care, they arrange brilliant events and shows for those who want to participate. Every time we visit we are met with smiling happy faces from the staff and management who always make time to talk to us. It seems to me that the team are not just doing a job but truly have a vocation - we are so grateful that we chose Mountbatten Lodge!
Choosing a care home for a loved one can be a minefield. I moved my father here when his previous home was no longer meeting his needs. It has proved to be the best decision that I could have made. From the moment we pulled up outside the door, my father was made to feel welcome, included & safe. Within 2 weeks he stopped grinding his teeth (stress related), he is walking (with assistance, but I haven't seen him do this in a year) & his hands are no longer sore (he was sucking his fingers constantly, creating infections). My father is engaged, happy & thriving. All the staff are approachable, helpful & everything is done with good humour. Care at Mountbatten Lodge is clearly not just a job, it is a way of life.
I was welcomed into Mountbatten Lodge on 1st November 2022. I had suffered 3 small strokes but thanks to all the loving staff, I am now able to walk with a stick. I can't praise them enough for the loving care they have shown, from the lovely manager and her assistant I have constantly been shown love and courtesy. As a bonus, they have started tribute nights, last week the pop tribute act was amazing (starring the manager).
Mountbatten Lodge is an extremely friendly and welcoming place, the residents are treated with the utmost kindness, dignity and respect by all members of staff who are all very friendly. The management are extremely friendly and approachable and are always available and accessible. The activity staff go above and beyond to engage the residents, and there is always something going on for both residents and relatives/carers. My husband is happy and content in such a caring and inclusive environment and I could not have wished for a kinder place for him to be.
Since my mother-in-law has been in this home we have seen her go from strength to strength all the carers do a fantastic job and get to know every single person in their care. Words cannot express how grateful both my wife and myself are as we know she’s getting the right care she deserves. Thank you all very much.
Mum had been in Mountbatten Lodge since November 2019. I have always found the staff to be friendly, very caring and helpful. She enjoys the activities that they do and they put on various things for the family to attend.
We were a little concerned when we found out that mum had to be admitted to a care home. Word locally was that Mountbatten Lodge was the best in the area, so we were very pleased when Mum was admitted there. We have found that the level of care given at the lodge by all staff to be first class, given with a smile in very demanding circumstances, nothing is too much trouble. Thank you so much for the love and care shown.
Both my parents moved to Mountbatten Lodge in 2019 when my father was diagnosed with dementia and was not able to look after my Mum. They were able to be in rooms next to each other which was great. Sadly my Dad died after contracting Covid, in the hospital I might add and although he was able to go back to the home he was too unwell to stay. The care of both my parents was exemplary during this time and they were looked after and safeguarded during Covid. My Mum is still under care and I can't recommend the home more. They look after her so well, inform me of any issues and she is like one of the family. I am so happy and so is she, I wouldn't want her anywhere else.
This is really the best place for my mum to be a resident. Good food and varied. Lots of activities that go on here. The staff... from the management to carers, they are literally the best. I cannot wait for the summer to come... BBQs and outside activities.
Some really fantastic carers and management, especially the longer-serving team here. Mum's assigned carer is an absolute godsend. I very much appreciate the extra mile and effort the established staff constantly take.
Since Mum has been in here, I've been so happy with this home. The staff are very welcoming to us all. The carers are very kind and helpful, I do have my favourites who have a special connection with Mum. I follow Mountbatten on social media, they always do such lovely activities. Most importantly Mum is happy here.
Didn't think my friend would be so happy as they are now.
As my mother cannot be at home to live there is nowhere else I would rather she was. The manager is amazing, the staff are helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
My mother has been resident here for almost 10 years and I have always been satisfied with the care provided to her. My mother is treated with respect and appears happy. During the pandemic I was confident that she remained safe and cared for. We had regular contact with video calls and updates. She always appears presentable and nourished.
