View Full Details of Newgrange Residential Care HomeOur dear mum resided at Newgrange for just 6.5 weeks before she sadly passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Her care at Newgrange exceeded all expectations. The love and care shown to her were exemplary and nothing was too much trouble. This support and care was shown to the family too and was much appreciated particularly as Mum started to fail. The home is beautifully appointed, bright and clean and very homely. The bedrooms are lovely with matching furniture and en suite bathrooms. Every single person we met, from managers, care staff, cooks and cleaners was so polite and friendly and had genuine care and concern for Mum and the family. We thank them all from the bottom of our hearts.
The level of care and compassion is of the highest level and can not be faulted, nothing is too much trouble. Visiting family members are treated with the same level of care and thoughtfulness too. The premises are secure and immaculately clean. The staff are so polite and at the top of their chosen profession. I could not ask for a better place for my Nan to be cared for and know that the family have chosen the right place for Nan and that is so comforting and dispels any worries when you leave when time to go home.
The staff and facilities are excellent.
Staff are caring and supportive carrying out duties with good humour and kindness. Communication is readily conveyed as to the needs of my mother. Entertainment is intrinsic to daily life at the Newgrange and encouragement is given to those residents who require that extra bit of positivity. Hearty meals are served at lunchtime and residents are encouraged to sit down together as a family for group camaraderie and general bonding.
I have been happy living here. I have been here just over a year and I feel I have been lucky. I am happy because it is free going, I please myself and have my own routine. The staff are pleasant and easy to get along with. They really care for me.
Very happy with the care, all the carers are very nice and friendly towards my mum. She is always clean whenever I visit her and looks well-kept. The staff always keep me up to date as to how her well-being is and what is going on with her.
The care provided by Newgrange team is excellent. Mother has settled in very well and has responded to the caring and dedicated nurses and support team, who have been attentive to all her individual needs, even her food likes and dislikes. She particularly loves music and it has been lovely to see her engaging in musical entertainment provided there. I feel a safe environment is prioritised at all times at Newgrange. High standards of cleanliness are also evident throughout.
Myself and my sister chose this care home for our father after an extension search nearly two years ago. There is no stone unturned for any resident, all staff are always kind, helpful and caring. Each resident has immaculately washed and ironed clothes every day, rooms cleaned daily, food is catered for everyone’s needs and fab entertainment. Simply the best.
My father has been a resident at this exceptional care home for 18 months now. I am so pleased that we found the perfect home for his needs. All staff and management are dedicated and passionate about providing personalised care to each of their residents. It is a small home where the carers get to know each resident’s individual needs and can cater for them accordingly. This home is immaculately clean, the food is nutritious and varied and Dad always looks well dressed and happy. There are various activities provided each day. I cannot praise highly enough each and every one of the friendly, caring and understanding staff at Newgrange. I am so grateful for all they do for Dad every day.
Everyone at Newgrange Care Home is so caring and kind and always puts the residents first. They look after my mother-in-law so well with everyday showering, clean clothes, lovely food and entertainment. At 101 years old she is very happy and hopefully will enjoy many more years at Newgrange. I would highly recommend.
All the staff take great care of the residents. The activities are varied to keep them interested and to help with their dementia care. The resident seems happy and content which is the main priority for older persons.
We have always found the care of our Father very good. The home is always clean. Our father's clothes are clean daily. His dietary needs are met. His hair and nails and skin are all well looked after. He is involved in lots of activities and enjoys the entertainment provided. The staff always know how he is and any concerns will communicate them to me and my sister. I have and will recommend this home to anyone.
The care home provides excellent care for my mum and I can’t thank them enough for what they do, always helpful with enquires and I can see a lot of care and effort goes into how my mum is cared for, I would recommend them as my mum has now been cared for, for over 2 years and even through Covid, the home ensured we could see my mum.
My dad has been in the care home since 2019 I visited a lot of care homes but as soon as I walked into this one I knew it was the one for my dad. Everything was new then and clean and has all the latest equipment and up to date. All the staff are lovely and take really good care of him and my dad says the same. He also really enjoys the activities they put on there such as quizzes, indoor bowling and also the singers that come in. The staff always encourage my dad to join in and he always gets up to have a little dance.
My mum has been a resident here for a year. She is content here. The staff are always on hand to offer help and go over and above for the residents. The entertainment provided is great. My mum enjoys all the extra activities. What a splendid effort from everyone regarding the jubilee party. Had an enjoyable afternoon watching everyone enjoying themselves. Keep up the good work.
Mum has been in Newgrange since July 2019 and she has received the best of care from all staff, Managers etc. Sadly since August 2021 Mum has basically been bedridden and has short-term memory loss but the care, attention, love, the respect she has received has not changed. Mum is unable to feed herself so her food is blended and always looks and smells delicious and the staff are so attentive when feeding her. On the odd occasion that staff manage to coerce Mum out of bed (she has no mobility so has to be hoisted and this includes some of her hygiene issues/needs) they send me a picture as they know how happy it makes me and they all make a fuss of Mum - the staff are there for me as well. I really don’t know how they have all coped with the pandemic, working to protect the residents and yet still managing to carry on their own lives - they really have been second to none. Over the years my opinion of Newgrange has not changed, if anything I have more respect for keeping my Mum safe.
My mother is coming up for 3 years residential care in the home and she has nothing but praise for how she is treated and looked after. If Mum is happy, we are happy. We have no concerns over her care and well-being.
We are really pleased and happy with the care Mum received and has received since she has been in New Grange. Before Covid hit, we had regular access to all areas of the home and could not have been more pleased with everything. Mum had been quite poorly recently and the care given to her by the staff could not have been more reassuring and kind.
My Mum was welcomed warmly into this home. The staff always listened to her needs and met them. They were flexible and understanding and willing to do anything she asked for. I know she is being well looked after.
My mother, who is now 85, has been at Newgrange since March 2019, she is blind and deaf so she had to go into care. We were so lucky when we were asked if we would like to view this home, and a bonus was everything was new. The rooms have everything a resident needs. My mum loves singing so, although some activities she can't do they always try to include her, she calls out the bingo numbers and loves singing on the microphone. She was asked the other day if she was happy and she replied yes the staff are so helpful. The food is excellent always fresh homemade and they take note of what she likes and doesn't like. I find the home always clean and the staff can't do enough for the resident's families.
