I have visited a friend at Stanborough Lodge and been to some functions there also and the staff have always been very friendly and amazing with the residents. They always give brilliant food and entertainment for everyone.
My experience of my wife's residence at Stanborough Lodge is one of great care for both my wife and my family.. entertainment at the home for special occasions goes beyond expectations.. this month was a Valentines Day Party at which the resident entertainer and a professional Cabaret Act kept residents and families in a wonderful party mood.. family and visitors are always made welcome
My dad spent a year at Stanborough Lodge before unfortunately passing away this January. The care and compassion shown by the staff has been outstanding both during his stay and since he died. I can not recommend Stanborough Lodge highly enough.
My dad moved in to Stanborough Lodge last October with Dementia/Alzheimer's. We were worried he wouldn't make the transition from a house and garden with my mum and cat. The manager spent time getting to know him and his needs and as soon as the right room was available it was fully redecorated. He moved in and had his own pictures on the walls, plenty of storage for all his things and all the attention and support he needed. Of course he had a few ups and downs as he settled in, but he was well supported and really hasn't looked back! He loves all the entertainments and activities (even parties). He's a big fan of the food and the level of care is second to none. The manager goes above and beyond to look after my dad and us. It's such a well run place with very consistent staff who feel like a real team and seem always happy and welcoming. It's small enough to feel homely and comfortable but big enough to cope and have everything it needs. It's very clean and very well maintained.
My father-in-law has settled in really well to this home. It is a great size (not too small or big), very helpful and friendly staff, issues and concerns (not many) are sorted efficiently. The staff put on a wide range of activities. Overall I am very pleased with this care home.
The staff look after my Nan very well, she can be a little difficult but they take it all in stride. The room is always clean and tidy and the grounds are nice, there are a lot of activities available. My Nan doesn't think much of the food however!
I visited my dad back in October when Stanborough lodge hosted their Halloween party. My dad seemed happy, clean and very cared for as well as all the other residents. The place was spotless and all staff were very responsive and helpful. I am so glad I have somewhere where I can trust the staff and know they treat all residents like they are part of their family.
Finding the best Care Home for a loved one is not easy especially if you have no experience of Residential Care. I'd like to share my personal experience about Stanborough Lodge. My mother, then aged 98, had recently been diagnosed with dementia. She was living with me and I knew the time had come she needed more help and I had to find a place where she could be looked after. One day 2 years ago I called Stanborough Lodge. I was able to speak to the Manager right away who gently offered support and understanding. I instinctively knew then this was a special place. My mother has been a resident for almost 2 years and my initial reaction was 100% right. This is due to the individual care and support from the Manager and her wonderful Staff. I'm regularly kept updated of any changes in my mother's health. Her room and laundry is beautifully looked after. The Home has a lovely, warm atmosphere and I'm always welcomed by Staff during regular visits. This is a very special place.
My mother has been a resident for around a year and I am very happy with her care. The team are very caring and keeps me updated on everything that is going on. My mother enjoys one-to-one activities and they ensure that she gets that.
My brother is a resident at Stanborough Lodge and myself and my friend have visited on many occasions i.e. Xmas Party, BBQ, it's a lovely home, very welcoming and all the staff are lovely and caring. We are all made very welcome, the atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. I'd give it a 10 out of 10.
Stanborough Lodge Care Home is more than just a care home, it's one big family where staff show so much love and care. The manager has created a warm, friendly environment where my mum has spent the last 2 years. Very professional service with updates regarding health and care and the staff are so quick to act on any health issues. The activities and events are wonderful to see. Summer bbqs, Halloween parties and Christmas parties help make some very special memories with our loved ones. Special thanks to the manager and her amazing team. They deserve all the awards going.
Yet another outstanding party/celebration for residents and care staff and families - this time for Christmas. This care home has the best care and focus on its residents making celebrations just as they would have been when the residents were in better health/well-being. I have come away from a Christmas Party that feels like any family party and not at all as if it was anything but a family celebration. This Stanborough team is the best.
My mother has been at the care home coming up to two years. In these two years, my mother has had complications with medication and her eyes started to deteriorate. The manager and staff were extremely understanding, helpful, and kind towards my mum walking around with her until her operation for her eyes. Now she has clean eyes and is playing pool and getting back involved with all the activities and arts and crafts that the home puts on every day. She is a different person now. The staff has helped her become her own person again and confident now she can see. The care and skill that the staff have, definitely set my mind at ease. Leaving my mother with them after the operation.
My father has recently moved into this fabulous care home. The manager and all members of the staff have worked compassionately and proactively to help him settle, giving me regular updates and working extremely hard to get to know my Dad as an individual and make the care home his home. It is such a happy and friendly place. A real home. Everyone knows each other and the relatives and friends get to know the other residents and relatives. It is such a huge relief that my Dad is safe, happy, and extremely well cared for. Thank you Stanborough Lodge!
Excellent care provided. Staff evidence care and respect for residents. Nothing is ever too much trouble. A range of stimulating activities are a regular feature of the events programme. The atmosphere feels like an extended home from home. When visiting, families are made to feel part of the care home family. The environment is bright and clean. An excellent provider who is sensitive in its approach, leaving relatives reassured in what can be worrying circumstances when loved ones need to be cared for by others.
It's been over one and a half years since Mum moved to Stanborough Lodge and my husband & I have peace of mind after all our visits to see her fully settled, happy, comfortable and content. All thanks to the wonderful leadership of the manager and her most caring, skilled and dedicated staff. All the recent renovations at the care home have added even more comfort and warmth to the whole place.
My aunt, aged 94, has been here for about six weeks. I visit at least once a week and have been surprised and delighted to see how well my aunt has settled. The whole place is homely and not at all clinical and visitors are really welcomed. The staff are simply wonderful, the care is great and my aunt keeps confirming this. What a difference it makes having a permanent team of carers, activity co-ordinator and other staff, led by a very kind, efficient and effective manager. Many activities and several places residents can sit; lounge, library, dining room and garden. So nice to have a small home, with a maximum of 23 residents and this means I now recognise several of them are and can chat with them with auntie, even if she cannot remember their names. The recent 'Wild West' summer party was a hoot! Costumes, barbecue, music, line dancing. Lots of family members, including children and my aunt loved it. I absolutely know that Stanborough Lodge is the best possible place for auntie to be.
My elderly Mum went to Stanborough Lodge at the end of July. She'd always feared care homes, having experienced poor care of my father 20 years before in an NHS dementia care unit. I knew the process to be difficult. I'd had experience before when searching for a care home for my brother who has Alzheimer's. My mum's Dementia is different, a lot of her old self remains. I was lucky to find Stanborough Lodge, just by chance. It had to be near local villages which limited my search. It is not one of those modern impersonal, 70-100-bed care homes. It is compact, with 23/24 rooms. Residents and families are drawn in immediately by its homely, friendly atmosphere. There's regular entertainment; quizzes and singing that's full of fun and stimuli. The staff are wonderful; caring and thoughtful and the manager; a wealth of experience and understanding of dementia, is marvellous, very empathetic to both her residents and their relatives during what can be a difficult transition. Mum has settled well she says 'I'm lucky to be here'. I'm very fortunate too.
I have been a resident at Stanborough Lodge since May 2024, and I couldn't be happier with the level of care I receive. The staff here are incredibly attentive and genuinely care about the well-being of each resident. They go above and beyond to make sure we are comfortable and have everything we need. The staff are always prompt in addressing any health concerns, and the activities coordinators do a fantastic job of keeping us engaged with various programs and events. The Manager and Care coordinator lead the team by example, which shows how good the home is and running well. Whenever I needed the management I knew they were always available. Home Manager's door always open for us residents. The environment is warm and welcoming, and I truly feel at home here. I highly recommend Stanborough Lodge to anyone looking for a caring and supportive place to live.
