View Full Details of Mayfair LodgeMy mum has only been here a few weeks, but she seems so happy. The care is fantastic and she is enjoying the activities. All the carers I have met so far have been kind and helpful. The management team have all been amazing. So kind and helpful and keeping me informed of things. I couldn't wish for a better home for my mum.
I have been visiting my friend on a fairly regular basis for over a year. The home is clean and quiet but other than that I do not understand all the very positive reviews. Never once have I been greeted by the staff or asked if I need help but have been allowed to wander wherever I wish and there seems to be a lack of security generally. My friend has said that some of the carers are very caring and efficient but certainly not all of them, some of them not even capable of the basic care needs like helping with a shower. She has never been offered a hot drink throughout any of my visits at various times of the day although I expect she could go and seek one out. She is also really not impressed with the food. But the biggest worry is that there seems to be very little stimulation given to the residents either in their rooms or in the lounge. They are bored.
Overall, I've been very pleased with the care given to my mother over the two years she has been there. Most of the carers are very considerate and have her interests at heart. If at any time I feel something extra needs to be done for Mum, I raise it and is usually always dealt with. The management are very involved with the residences and seem to know them all as individuals. The carers have a very challenging job as each resident has individual needs and they can't be with them 24/7. However, any concerns that I have raised have always been dealt with promptly. I'm really pleased I was able to get her into a local care home and she certainly seems to be safe and cared for, which is a great relief for the family.
As a resident at Mayfair Lodge, my father is looked after in superb fashion by all the staff. They are absolute superstars! Kind, generous and gifted in caring for all the residents with the most awful of mental conditions. The residents are treated with dignity and are kept busy with activities and events. I'm very happy that my father feels comfortably at home there and thankful to all the staff for making his days as good as possible. Many thanks.
My aunt has been cared for at Mayfair Lodge for many years and may be one of your longest residents. Also, my mother has been cared for over the last two years. I have to say that every member of staff is so engaging and caring. The residents are treated with dignity and the home is spotlessly clean. As for the activities and entertainment, you for so much the enjoyment of the residents. Our family can't thank you enough for looking after two of our dear family members. Thank you.
Mayfair Lodge and the carers who work there have changed our lives. We are so grateful for the unbelievable care my father receives. Not only are they patient with my dad who can be difficult they also are with us, his immediate family. Our whole family feel like the entire team really care for dad and have his very best interest at heart. We simply cannot thank them enough. This is such a difficult time for our family and Mayfair Lodge team have been simply amazing.
Both my mum and my mother-in-law are in this lovely home. What makes Mayfair Lodge special are the staff, who tend to remain consistent. Always professional, caring, capable and who treat their residents with the utmost dignity. They become the extended family of both residents and resident's families. We are very happy with our choice of care home.
My mum is doing extremely well, having been looked after here for several years. Mayfair Lodge staff, from management, carers and cleaners do as much as possible to keep all residents safe and happy. My wife and I wanted the best for my wonderful mum and feel Mayfair Lodge has fulfilled this.
My mum's carers have built up a wonderful and positive relationship that is making Mum's experience at Mayfair Lodge very positive. It's clear the staff know her and importantly her family, her background and her likes and dislikes too.
Very friendly and experienced, helpful and conscientious staff.
My sister-in-law has learning difficulties, she has been a resident for the past nine years. My wife has vascular dementia and Alzheimer's, she has been a resident for the past 18 months. During this time, I have nothing but praise for the staff that look after their well-being. Mayfair Lodge ticks most of the right boxes, except I feel the bedrooms are on the small size.
The team welcomed my husband, who has Alzheimer's. He has settled into the regular routine but does not welcome personal care previously provided by his wife. The care home has recruited extra activity leaders which may resurrect some of the hobbies he seems to have lost as his condition worsens. Garden access is welcome. The room is quite adequate. The new garden tea room is welcome.
I have witnessed so much care and affection shown to my mother as well as countless other residents when I visit. It is not easy looking after dementia patients but the staff treat residents with respect and humility. They take time to learn the personalities of residents and use it to create a bond with the residents. It's a difficult job to do. We, as a family, appreciate that and thank all of the staff for how they approach the care they provide. Thank you!
When I arrive for my visit to Mum, she always seems happy. Her room is always clean. Staff interactions with Mum (and me) are always friendly and on the rare occasions I have needed help, someone has always been available. We would prefer it if Mum could still live independently but she can't so Mayfair Lodge Care Home is the next best thing.
I was very poorly when I arrived at Mayfair Lodge. The staff have worked hard to get me better, it's been a new experience in a good way.
I would like to say how incredibly clean Mayfair Lodge is. Bathrooms, bedrooms, dining room and kitchen and visitors toilet. I sometimes make a cup of tea when I visit and everything is better than I could expect. Also, I'd like to say just how caring the staff are. They always refer to each resident by name when they talk with them which I feel shows great kindness.
Deciding that a loved one needs a care home is hard and Mayfair Lodge get this: my mother was there 3 years and I cannot fault the quality of care that she was given or the openness and understanding with which the family were treated. The home is bright and airy, with an environment that is designed to be stimulating, yet familiar to residents. What marks this home out is the relationship between staff members and residents. My mother was not always easy, but they relentlessly saw the good in her. The home is often ringing with laughter and there is usually music playing. Staff know the resident's quirks and foibles and go out of their way to keep them engaged and happy. When my mother began to fade, they responded with real compassion, keeping me updated by phone and welcoming visits at any time. The home is brilliantly managed and liaison with local medical teams is superb. I will always be grateful for the tenderness with which my mother was treated and the support that I was given.
Very happy with all services provided. The care provided for my wife is excellent. She is happy and smiley.
I cannot really fault Mayfair Lodge. It is clean and has a lovely atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and always take time to talk to you, they always take time to talk to you, they always phone me if my dad has any problems or had a doctor's visit. They really made an effort to make sure Dad was comfortable and all visitors are offered tea and cake on visits. Nothing is too much trouble.
Staff have been helpful and kind every time I have had dealings with them. On both, arranged and ad-hoc visits, have found the home to be very clean and orderly. I had several contacts made by them regarding my mum's wellbeing.
