Our dear mum was looked after and cared for at Eden House for the last 7 months of her life. A kinder and caring home would be hard to find. The management and all the team treated mum with kindness and respect at all times. When visiting, the home was always clean, bright and airy, and very welcoming. The meals always looked very appetising. There was always someone on hand to answer any questions, but the needs of mum and other residents always came first. In mum's final days, she was never alone, everyone was there for her and also for her family. We all have fond memories of mums last months at Eden House. A wonderful care home.
My experience of living here is that I am content and very happy being here.
My grandfather was a resident at Eden House Care Home. During his stay, he was treated in a kind and dignified manner. The home has a really family feel about it. The staff were lovely and we all felt comfortable knowing granddad was being looked after so well.
I like the home Eden House. The staff are very kind and helpful. The management are very helpful in sorting out problems. Food is excellent. Room nice, the right size for me.
The staff are very good. My wife is very happy here and very contented. They all take good her and she gets on very well with all.
Eden House is located in an elevated position offering direct views of the Solent. There is a secure garden area to the side where residents can experience a quiet time amongst the flora and fauna. My experience of home comes from almost daily visits to see my wife, who has Alzheimer's Dementia (late stage) taking place over the last six months. I can see that my wife is well looked after by the staff and when I take her out in her wheelchair to a function she is always nicely dressed and ready in good time. I have been happy to observe the management team keeping everything under control and they responded to any requests promptly.
My mum has been a resident in Eden House for the last 7 years, and both she and I are happy with the home she is comfortable enjoys the food and is very happy with her accommodation. The staff are very friendly.
I’ve always been very satisfied with the care my mum has been given since she’s been at Eden House, for approx 2 years now. She’s also clean, dressed nicely, and looks happy and cared for. Staff are always on hand and answer the phone within a couple of rings.
It has taken my mother (and myself) some time to adjust to her being in a care home. The home is clean with a decent size room and ensuite facility. The staff look after her well and have been open/communicative with any decision-making process in regard to my mother's needs. Systems have been put in place to monitor, accommodate and review her evolving health issues. She enjoys the sporadic activities which continue to be one of the bigger challenges for the home. I think the care home has provided a safe, secure environment; the staff are kind and polite and I consider my mother to be quite content there.
My mother needed to go into care in November and we are delighted with the way in which she is looked after. The home have made huge efforts to welcome and care for my mum. Nothing is too much and she has settled in so well. The staff are so respectful and treat the residents with dignity. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Eden House more highly.
This is one of the best homes in the area due to the care and compassion they provide. The management and carers of this home go above and beyond your expectations. The home feels like one big happy family and makes everyone feel very welcome (residents and visitors.)
Overall quality of care is good. I feel that there should be there three carers on duty at night. The home is always very clean and warm. My mother says that the quality of the food is very good. I think that the exterior of the building needs a thorough overall and complete redecoration. The grounds and gardens are desperately in need of some TLC. Both my parent's rooms are on the small side, and the facilities are not fit for purpose.
Very friendly staff very helpful. Manger is fantastic. Would be even better if we could find an activities lady.
My Grandmother lived at Eden House for a very happy three years, unfortunately, she passed recently. With my step-grandfather also living at Eden House and passing only three weeks ago I feel I needed to write and congratulate all the staff and the manager at Eden House for the fantastic job they are all doing. I can honestly say this is the most family-orientated home, I have experienced. You are always made welcome and the staff appear to be extremely knowledgeable in the field of dementia. As you stepped into the front door you were always met with a smile and the home always smells lovely. Both my nana and grandad's rooms were always kept clean and tidy as were they. I was very aware also of how highly the staff thought of the homeowners, the impression I got was that they really care about the residents in the home and it's not just a business. I would highly recommend Eden House to anyone. Thank you for caring!
On entering Eden House, Totland, Isle of Wight the atmosphere is one of welcoming and friendliness by the staff. Unbeknown I have listened to staff talking and caring for the residents, and they speak kindly showing patience and dignity. The residents' personal care is evident. I can not praise the staff enough. It is a demanding job, nothing seems too much trouble. Well done to the manager and all the team, keep the good work up.
With a very heavy heart, I had to put my mum into Eden House. I was devastated at having to do this, Mum is 96, I'd cared for her for the past 16 years but the last two years just got too much as also have my dad of 92, a bipolar husband. But the fact is this place is just wonderful in every single way. Mum's had a dodgy 2 weeks but staff have been so patient and kind. I feel she is getting the care she needs and that she is in fact better now than when at home. Also, these people at Eden House have probably saved my sanity and my life as this place is still running with the same sort of dedication by all the staff. I'd be very happy to end my last days with them. Thank you so much.
Our mother entered Eden House In April 2021, sadly no longer recognising any of her family. Mum was at Eden House for almost six months and was treated with kindness, respect, and dignity. Although we were in the midst of Covid19 and visiting was restricted we were able to visit her at any time during her last week of life. We were extremely grateful for this flexibility and will always remain grateful for the care the ever-cheerful staff at Eden House gave to her.
My father was at Eden House for 18 months and he was extremely well looked after, supported and cared for. All the staff were polite and treated him (and our family) with respect, dignity and as "people" and not "just a job" as some homes do, and as if they were in Dad's home and not at work. He became unwell in January but was able to remain at Eden House for end of life care, for which we, the family, are most grateful. The staff came into their own at a very difficult time for all of us and the care and dignity were absolutely amazing. Thank you so much.
Dad was a resident of Eden House for over six years. Throughout his time there he was treated like a member of their family- with kindness, affection and respect. Dad's individual interests were encouraged, so his room often echoed with the sound of his beloved classical music or the theme tunes of Bond films or Wallace and Gromit. We were always welcomed with a cup of tea and allowed to decorate his room with photos of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and staff would refer to them by name as they attended to his care. When dad became ill for the last time, the care staff called in to see their friend at every opportunity, when it was time to say goodbye, nine of them attended from the care home and cried alongside us. Knowing how hard they work, we had expected a 'token' member of staff, but this was an overwhelming tribute to our dad; someone who continued to touch the lives of his family and friends even as his illness progressed. Thank you.
My nanny is a resident at Eden House. She is well cared for, 5 star care. Food is wonderful and homemade. It's a home from home, is always clean and tidy and all the staff are so welcoming and kind. Could not do more for my nanny and me. Manager and owners are great too. We tell everyone about this home. The best in the UK.
