View Full Details of Highfield HouseThe staff are patient with Mum, and ensure both she and all residents have what they need. They are proactive, and have a 'Special' way with the residents, making each one feel respected and cared for. It's so important to be in a loving environment when your life has changed beyond your control. Mum, being a stroke victim, had her life turned upside down overnight. Your staff make her laugh, feel part of a family, and give her a reason to carry on and enjoy life. All your staff are outstanding, and as I have stayed overnight to be with my mother, I have to give a special shout-out to the night staff! I am in awe of their professionalism and care throughout the night. I feel that she is checked on, and well looked after. They work so hard all night long, ensuring everyone is okay, as well as other duties that need to be done. They smile and are so caring at all hours throughout the night, nothing is a problem, they are simply amazing! Thank you.
Everyone at Highfield is so lovely! The manager and the team really care for Mum and she is happy and settled here. Letting someone else care for her was the hardest decision ever, but they are relaxed and so supportive, so she is content. We can visit when we want and her things make her room her space. A great plus is the garden too, which she can use whenever she feels like it.
My mum went into Highfield House in February for daycare then became a permanent resident in April. The staff are wonderful with her and also me as I am finding it very tough to see my mum like this. The staff are always so understanding and nothing is too much trouble for them. I really cannot fault any aspect of Highfield and know my mum is lucky to be in their care.
Sadly my husband had a fall at home which resulted in him breaking his hip. With having dementia this became increasingly difficult for us as a family to support his needs and was taking its toll on my own health and well-being. Looking for the right place I like many others was upset to see my husband go into a home but making contact with the organisation and Highfield that much-needed help and support was there and to this day still is. We as a family can not thank the manager enough for going above and beyond to support us and for that we are extremely grateful. The second you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile and it's a pleasure to see the passion and desire from the staff to make a difference to the residents. It's nice to see the residents encouraged to be involved in so many activities and made to feel safe and comfortable in their surroundings. So thank you to the manager and her management team plus all the carers for truly being the best it's appreciated.
You really could not get a better home, the care, kindness and compassion is excellent. Amazing staff and great leadership. They looked after my husband for 3 years and never anything to complain about and he recently passed and one of the carers stayed with me.
Mum is high maintenance. I was very sceptical at first as she was being sent here, I was not happy at all, and let social services know that, as she had been moved twice and caused her significant stress. The manager is very good, well superb actually. I met Mum here and was very impressed, staff are attentive and patient and bonded with Mum very quickly. Anyone who knows just how stressful this type of situation is can relate, it was a bit of weight off my shoulders knowing she was being looked after properly, as the one she was sent to before was absolutely rubbish. I visit Mum every week and see for myself just how much of a pain she is but staff take it in their stride, and fair play to them. Mum is well looked after and loves dogs. I purchased her a dementia dog which she loved, and every time I visit she has another toy dog, if you see a woman with a trolley of dogs, that's her. Food appears very good, she is vegetarian and this is catered for.
My Father arrived at the home terminally ill. His room was immaculate and the staff all looked very professional in the various colour polo shirts. The staff were very approachable and could easily answer all the questions we asked as a family. Even though I live 180 miles away I never felt like a burden when calling by phone. My Father passed away after three weeks of great care. If asked to describe the home in one word based on what we encountered it would be 'brilliant', although as I write that it may be a little lower than I felt. Thank you.
