Can't praise this home and its staff enough. The staff are wonderful, patient and caring in the way they handle and treat the elderly residents and their families. Nothing is too much trouble, and its always done with a pleasant manner and a smile. In my personal opinion, the home is run superbly and has a wonderful atmosphere and tenderness towards their elderly residents. They always keep you informed and up to date on any issues. Excellent is, in one word, how I would express it.
My aunt was looked after for several years prior to her death by the staff at The Moorings. I cannot thank them enough for the care they gave her. Whenever we visited, she was always well looked after and spoke so highly of all the staff. They do a really difficult job, so well. Thank you to each and every one.
I am truly touched at the love and care shown towards my grandma every time I visit. The Moorings is a wonderful care home and an absolute Godsend for our family. The staff are warm, patient and understanding and always have time to spend time chatting with us when we visit, making our family feel very welcome.
My sister and I felt extremely lucky that mum was placed in The Moorings for respite when she broke her wrist. The building is light and airy and full of lovely things to look at. Staff and management were so friendly and professional. Mum's room was beautiful with all the facilities she needed. There were so many activities and even a facebook page. I can't say enough about the care she received, it is an amazing place I would recommend to anyone.
I would have no reservations in recommending this wonderful care home. Many of the residents have advanced dementia, the staff are caring and patient without exception. The staff are very enlightened with their dementia care and tailor their care to the individual residents recognising their specific needs.
The manager and her team provide an excellent service in a clean and friendly home. I visit unannounced on various days and times and dad is always clean and cared for when I arrive. If only all care homes were like this older members of our community could live their latter years with dignity. No bad points to make over three years of visits.
My husband had daycare at The Moorings for four months - one day a week. He was always welcomed when we arrived, a cup of tea at once. He enjoyed his time there - it was a happy place. The menu for lunches was varied and interesting. He was well looked after and looked forward to the next visit.
Lovely staff members, people are treated very kindly. Inside everything is made more cosy. Highly recommended. Guests are treated very nice, and the people who live there are treated with dignity. Surroundings are lovely.
In the autumn of 2014 I began taking my mother (who had a TIA in august) to The Moorings once a week for day care. I was so impressed with the care and facilities that I began to use them for short term respite as I needed a break from 24/7 care. I have been very happy with the care my mother receives and the effort that the staff and manager give. They have gone to a great deal of effort to find what interests her and help her to do the things that she can. My mother is nearly 97 and is now a resident there. This has given me peace of mind as I know she is getting the best care as her needs change.
