View Full Details of Broomfield Lodge Care HomeI would thoroughly recommend Broomfield Lodge! My Dad was well cared for at all times during the last 4 months of his life. Knowing that all the staff were so kind and attentive towards him was so reassuring to us. As a family, we were also very welcomed each time we visited and were always offered a drink. Dad's room was lovely and all the home cooked food was always enjoyed! We will be eternally grateful to all staff for all their support, love and care.
I can say without a doubt my experience at Broomfield Lodge Care Home was exceptional the care and love from all the staff was wonderful for not only my wife but all the Residence. I would eagerly recommend Broomfield Lodge to anyone asking about care homes. Also the management were always ready to answer any queries or problem you might have.
I have nothing but respect for the way that the staff and management, at Broomfield Lodge, have looked after my mother. Their care and kindness is to be applauded.
The care and surport from staff is excellent you can visit at any time and always made welcome. Glad my mother is staying in this home.
Absolutely brilliant care given to my mum, the staff all knew what was happening with her. They were unfailingly kind and communicated with me constantly. Their end-of-life care was compassionate to Mum and the family. No "visiting times", it really was her home albeit for a few months. Had a wonderful birthday celebration a month before she died and they were so involved. Thoroughly recommend.
My mother was a resident at Broomfield Lodge for nearly five years until her death. I am so very pleased I decided that she should stay there. I found the staff caring and attentive towards her and the members of our family who visited her. Any concerns we had were soon dealt with. We could not have asked for better. 'Thank you' hardly seems a strong enough word to express our gratitude.
Well what can one say about Broomfield Lodge nothing but excellent, the reason for me saying this are laid out below. As soon as you go through the front door you notice how clean and well maintained it is and this goes throughout the building. The cleaners should be commended on this also the washing of the resident’s clothes, again they are spotless. The food is stunning all freshly cooked with fresh ingredients, it’s up to a good restaurant standard. Again the entertainment for the residents is also excellent there is always something going on. Now let’s talk about the carers, they are brilliant the way they care for the residents is done with the upmost care and dare I say with love. Nothing seems to much trouble and when I lost my mother the care they showed her in her last hours and me and the family well can’t find the words to thank them. The staff are well managed by an excellent management team.
We have visited the Lodge many times to visit a friend. The staff are always extremely friendly and the care and kindness they show the residents is second to none. The Lodge is always clean and tidy and of a very high standard. Thank you to all concerned for their kindness and caring.
I was badly in need of a break after caring for my wife for two years and needed to ensure that she would be in professional hands for the few weeks I was away. I had researched many but was impressed by the sheer understanding of both my state of health as a carer and hers with increasing dementia. They seemed to encourage questions and only too pleased to arrange visiting. I need not have worried as from day one they kept me informed of her health and wellbeing which being overseas, gave me the peace of mind that she was in caring and professional hands. Moreover on my return I was given a full account of her on-going health needs which had been brought up to date by their nurse, and had been marvels at ensuring her dietary requirements were more than met, so they must have had the patience of Jobe. The manager and deputy manager and the entire team deserve a really big thank you for exhibiting such friendly patience and professionalism for what is a very challenging and demanding job.
I and my wife were very concerned regarding the health of my mother along with her detreating memory, after being transferred to Broomfield Lodge Care Home from the hospital for assessment we were very impressed by the professionalism of the staff and she settled in well. After it was agreed she could not look after herself and return to her home we were very pleased when Broomfield Lodge advised they could look after Mum for as long as was required. The activities they do along with the excellent selection of food and the staff there it gives us peace of mind that Mum is looked after 24/7.
Mum had to move into care, just over a year ago. I viewed Broomfield Lodge and was so impressed with how clean and bright the home, was I applied to move her in. Since then, my opinion has not changed. The staff are all happy, friendly and helpful and keep me up to date on any changes. It is impeccably clean and the freshly cooked food looks and smells delicious. Mum is very happy and has settled in very easily and loves her room.
I'd been looking for a care home for Mum for ages. I stopped at Broomfield on my way home one day from looking and was immediately welcomed in. From the minute I entered, I knew it was right. Bright, clean, airy with a lovely homely atmosphere. Mum moved in just before lockdown 2020. As I couldn't see her regularly, the staff kept me fully up to date and I had regular contact with Mum. Mum had become quite stressed and anxious with her dementia, but she settled quickly into life there. She was happy, relaxed, eating, drinking and sleeping well. Soon became one of the extended family. They all took her close into their hearts and the love and care she got, shone through as a result. Mum's life ended peacefully and with grace and dignity. I will be forever grateful to everyone at the lodge for all their devotion to her. Admitting you need help caring for a close relative is a really tough call to make, but I would choose Broomfield again in a heartbeat.
My mum has dementia and has always previously refused to go into a care home. However, after a long spell in hospital, she was discharged to an assessment bed at Broomfield Lodge. We had no choice which home she was discharged to, but I can't believe how lucky we were, as it's a superb care home. When I visited Mum, soon after she was transferred there from the hospital, I was struck by how much happier Mum looked. Not just from the hospital, but she was far happier than when she was living in her own home. I was amazed when she told me that she doesn't want to go back to her own home now, as all the carers are so lovely (which they are) and she is enjoying the company of the other residents. Many care homes either stink of urine or smell of very strong air fresheners to mask the smell of urine. This is not the case at Broomfield lodge as there is no smell at all. It's just like walking into your own home. I am so relieved that Mum is so safe and happy in such a lovely home.
My mother passed away in January 2022. She has been living at Broomfield Lodge for two years. They have always treated her with respect and dignity and she loves living there.
My 94-year-old mother was at Broomfield for one year. Having lived alone for so long, she flourished with company. Her carers were kind and loving, kept her smiling and laughing and probably gave her more attention due to her deafness and Dementia. They fed her well, keeping to her grazing habit of eating throughout the day. Her passing was treated with dignity and care beyond their role. They also kindly considered the immediate family needs. I could not have wished for a more caring approach and my family extend their heartfelt thanks.
I posted a review in May 2021 for Broomfield Lodge. Since then the staff at Broomfield Lodge have continued to dedicate themselves to the well being of our Mum. They remained compassionate, with endless patience and kindness. Our Mum died there on the 17th of September, peacefully and with her beloved carers. We were astonished at the progress the carers had made with our Mum. A Mum emerged whom we had not seen for many years. A Mum who laughed with her carers, played games and sang karaoke, her naughty sense of humour coming into play. Not every day was like that but the carers had learnt how to handle it and to get Mum to concentrate on lighter things. It is of huge comfort to us to know that Mum's last days were happy and that the loneliness and despair she suffered before she went into Broomfield Lodge, were behind her. Our heartfelt thanks to all the angels at Broomfield Lodge for everything they did for our Mum.
My father was a resident at Broomfield Lodge Care Home for the past six years. The Broomfield team became his second family, he was well cared for and loved. In the last weeks of his life, the care team at Broomfield gave all their love, dedication and support which allowed my father a dignified and comfortable passing. This support also extended to our family. I would recommend this care home and their team.
Broomfield Lodge went through a period of staff changes. The staff member who organises activities is very good. However, she is only at the home twice each week. Some improvements could be made with care from staff at weekends, i.e. more staff involved in activities with residents.
A wonderful care home. The manager and staff look after the residents with the utmost care, attention and gentleness. They are all very knowledgeable and always keep the family well informed. I would recommend this lovely home to anyone looking for one for a family member.
It is all excellent. The staff are helpful and kind. The atmosphere is great, it's like home from home. For Mum's 102nd and 103rd birthday, she had a visit from the local mayor and the activity girl got a singer in and made a lovely buffet which was beautiful.
