View Full Details of Chippendayle Lodge Care HomeAfter a difficult start to my husbands admission as a resident at Chippendayle Lodge over 20 months ago, I can honestly say the new manager has helped immensely to sort out care issues. Her door is open to explain my concerns and her cheerful and professional attitude to me has helped, not only in my husbands care but to lift my mood on the long journey of dementia which at times has not been easy. I realise that dementia is a difficult and often misunderstood with no real pathway but now I feel at least most of my concerns are addressed and dealt with, therefore giving me a much better way of dealing with long goodbye to a dear man. Thank you to the manager and your team.
From the beginning of my dad's journey into the home, my dad and I have received valued support from the management and staff. We have been kept up to date at all times, treated with respect and care. It wasn't easy for dad to adjust but with the excellent care, dad is now settled, happy and enjoying life in the home.
Over all very good. Carers are nice and caring and the care home is lovely. All in all five star. The new manager is making some good changes for the residents. As I see my wife on a regular basis, I can feel the difference for the good.
Our family were devasted when mum and dad's needs meant they both needed to go in a residential environment. We then found Chippendayle Lodge. Chippendayle is a friendly, caring, relaxed, safe residential home where the care for them both was all we could ask for. Sadly dad passed away last year and mum has recently passed after suffering from severe Alzheimer's. All the staff from the carers to support staff at Chippendayle are amazing. They are friendly, caring and loving to all the residents and treat them with dignity and respect. The residents are their prime priority. We were kept fully informed of both mum and dad's welfare and needs. The addition of an enthusiastic activities manager has greatly enhanced the facilities offered. With a new manager now in place, we know Chippendayle will continue to thrive and provide an even better environment for the residents to live. We would have no hesitation in recommending Chippendayle to others.
My dad is a resident at the home and is extremely happy. He feels it's like home, the staff are very caring and spend time with him during the day. I'm delighted with the improvements since the new manager arrived last month, They are always around the home and interacts with all the residents making sure they are ok, they are active in managing the staff and encourages them to mix with the residents. I'm always made to feel very welcome when I visit. The garden is also looking amazing since it had its new makeover!
In the two years that my wife has now been at Chippendayle Lodge Care Home - receiving the best of care for her condition (Alzheimer's) - I continue to be fully satisfied with the love and attention she receives from all of the staff, particularly the carers who do an excellent job, given the challenges they face working in such an environment. The management of the home overall is first class - they're always available to listen to relatives concerns and requests - and all the residents enjoy various activities and entertainment which keep them occupied and as happy as they can be.
My mum has settled in so well here, she feels safe, comfortable and very well looked after. The staff who care for her are lovely, so friendly and helpful. They keep us in touch with how she is, and are always happy to discuss her care needs with us. It’s a real comfort to know she is being cared for so well, and she is happy.
My mum has been at Chips since my dad died, last April and we're very happy with the care that she has received. Mum has dementia but always enjoys company and the care staff have always been so friendly and caring towards her. They all know her name and have been great at settling her in and paying attention to her particular needs. The carers are very gentle with her as Mum now needs a lot more help due to her dementia progression. They also learnt very quickly who all the family members are and are always happy to chat with us if we or they have any concerns. There's also a lovely activities lady who is working really hard to keep everyone engaged and active.
Unless your relative is fully mobile and able to make their own way to use the facilities on offer then steer clear. The staff are more than happy to leave residents who are not mobile in their room, by themselves all day, every day - with the only contact being at meal times and medication times. Promote themselves as being specialists for dementia care but anyone with a relative suffering from dementia knows they need constant stimulation. None of the carers have undertaken official dementia training by the likes of Dementia UK - they learn on the job as confirmed by Charing Healthcare. My father was in there just short of 2 years and suffered falls, bed sores and a whole host of other issues. The only reason I didn't move him within the first 6 months was due to the anxiety it would have caused him. He went into Chippendayle walking and within 2 months they popped him in a wheelchair as it was quicker and easier for the staff, not my father - as a result he never walked again.
Mum has been at Chips since Dad passed away in April last year. The care she receives is excellent, all the care staff know her name, which is important plus they are always very attentive and cheerful. The activities coordinator does a superb job introducing stimulating activities along with musicians and singers on a weekly basis. The kitchen prepares all meals on-site with options to cater for all residents and if Mum wants something different it’s no problem. I would not hesitate to recommend Chippendayle Lodge to anyone looking for care for their relative. Thank you.
Chippendayle Lodge is a modern, spacious and clean care home with good facilities. The staff have a wonderful attitude towards my mother and the other residents in the manner they interact with them and if ever I have any questions about my mother the manager is very helpful in answering them.
Only one criticism, otherwise a very good care home, no daily activities to entertain or stimulate residents.
My mother has been in this care home for nearly six months now and as a family are very satisfied with all aspects of this home. I have marked good but often different areas excel themselves, however, my comment would be staff shortage which I know management is desperate to rectify
I have always been satisfied with the care my 99-year-old mother receives. However, my mum has recently been ill, and the management and staff have been wonderful, so caring and professional not only to my mum's needs but also to my brother and myself. So compassionate and understanding to our needs as family members. Thank you, Chipps; you are all amazing.
My father has been a resident at Chippendayle Lodge Care Home for the last two years. I have always been satisfied with the care he’s received. I am so grateful to all the staff, they have always gone that extra mile every day to make sure my father gets the care he needs. The lady who organises the activities works very hard organising games and window visits for the residents and has also arranged many online chat calls to take place between my father and myself.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Chippendayle Lodge to anyone looking for a care home for their loved one. The home is clean and tidy, the staff team are kind, caring and friendly and the home has a very warm welcoming atmosphere. Whenever I visit Dad I am always offered a drink and the home lets me know how my Dad is getting on. Thank you all for the amazing work you do.
I cannot put into words my gratitude for the truly outstanding level of care my mum has received since moving into Chippendayle Lodge. It is clear at all times that staff care deeply about the residents on a highly individualised basis. Mum is always beautifully dressed, wearing makeup and her nails done and speaks highly and with real affection for the staff. Her room is comfortable and immaculately clean; the food goes down a treat and staff are always interacting with residents. I am a local GP so have plenty of experiencing visiting residential care homes and this one stands out. It is incredibly humbling to see this level of professionalism and care being delivered daily. A real home from home for Mum and somewhere we are always made to feel welcome as her family. Thank you again from all the family.
Mum is always treated with dignity and respect at all times. The staff are extremely caring and nothing is ever too much trouble. It's very clean and never smells as some homes do. Food is extremely nice and again, kitchen staff lovely. If someone asked what home to put a relative in, it would be here. Mum likes it here now and so are we, as a family, pleased she is so well looked after. They also support myself and my sister.
My mother has been at Chippendayle Lodge now for 6 months. She has a lovely room overlooking the garden which is well maintained. The staff cannot do enough for her, if she requests any food or isn't happy with what is on offer on the day the kitchen will always make her something else. I visit the home regularly and I have always found the staff to be happy and very helpful.
The staff at Chippendayle Lodge are endlessly kind, thoughtful and professional. They anticipate problems and put procedures in place to avoid embarrassment or discomfort. Staff treat residents as individuals and always with respect.
