View Full Details of Fairby GrangeMum moved into Fairby Grange as her well-being and safety became an increasing concern for the family. Within a short period of time mum settled, became very comfortable and really enjoyed life at Fairby Grange. Over two years the staff became friends and really looked after. As her health deteriorated and her independence lessened, mum continued to be well cared for. As a family we could not praise the staff highly enough for everything they did.
As mum could not cope at home between us we came to the conclusion that mum would be better in a home and after some research Fairby Grange seemed to meet mums needs so we set up a month trial initially that went well so we decided to make it permanent. During mums time here she was looked after really well, made friends with other residents and particularly the staff as always enjoyed her talks when they made the time to sit with her. Sadly mums health deteriorated while she was in the home but the staff were exceptional at the end and made mum comfortable and treated her with compassion.
My husband was in Fairby Grange for three weeks of respite whilst I was recovering from an operation. The care he received from all the staff was excellent and they made him very welcome. This gave me peace of mind to know he was being taken good care of. He enjoyed his stay and thought the food was great. Thank you once again for taking such care.
Fairby Grange is a caring, comforting, compassionate and friendly care home. The owners, management and staff used their expertise to settle and reassure my mum when she first arrived there over a year ago and she soon settled in. She was always happy, clean, well-presented and comfortable within the cosy but professionally run surroundings. Mum particularly enjoyed her lovely, bright room, trips out in the minibus, the wonderful, home-cooked food and her time spent in the on-site hairdresser. Having nice hair was important to her and she would say to me on almost every visit that she really loved where she was staying. Any particular concerns were always reported by the manager/owners or appropriate staff and dealt with both sympathetically and efficiently. As a family, you are consistently and heartily welcomed into the nurturing environment that they provide. I was always so reassured that she was looked after, quite simply, by the very best of people.
My overall experience of the home is very good but recent changes particularly concerning visiting has taken away some of the friendliest of the home and made it feel more regimented. I have no experience of other homes but feel my wife is well looked after.
Settled in incredibly quickly, my mum has been at Fairby Grange since the end of last year, every week she seems more settled and comfortable, she talks about it as her home and can’t say enough about how lovely and friendly the staff are, also really helpful. We have total peace of mind that Mum is well cared and looked after.
Very friendly staff, good administration, excellent meals and general care, Mum is very happy at Fairby Grange. She is very well looked after and feels valued. She especially likes the activities laid on for the residents and takes part on a regular basis.
My Mum moved to Fairby Grange at the start of 2023 and has now been a resident for 3 months. I have been extremely impressed with how the management and staff have welcomed and treated my Mum. The level of care she is receiving is excellent and communication from management on any issues or updates is very timely.
My grandmother recently moved in and has the best care, support and welcome from staff and residents. Enjoying trips out, in-house activities and fantastic home-cooked food. The staff are friendly, making her transition from moving from her home as stress-free experience.
Fairby Grange is a warm and welcoming home offering excellent fresh home-cooked meals. The management and staff are extremely efficient, displaying a level of care and experience that has made my mum settle relatively well. The daily activities, warmth and care generated by the staff are very apparent. Through their social media updates, we get to see Mum and the residents having fun. With an on-site minibus, they offer regular offsite activities for residents to participate in.
My mother-in-law settled into Fairby Grange very quickly and is very happy there. The owner, manager and all the staff are very kind and caring towards her and are all very pleasant and helpful. They have a great team there - nothing seems too much trouble. She is always saying how happy she is there and the staff are lovely. She enjoys joining in the many activities during the week and going on outings in the minibus, plus always loves having her hair and nails done at the home. Fairby Grange is very clean and has a homely feel about it, the food is home cooked and varied too. Whenever we visit the staff are so friendly and helpful to us and the manager always keeps us updated on how she is getting on. Our family are sure we made the right decision by entrusting her care at Fairby Grange and we know she is well looked after there, this is reinforced every time we visit and see her smiling and laughing with the staff - We would definitely recommend Fairby Grange.
Although the choice of care home was a very stressful time for all. It was eased by the management and staff at Fairby grange, the constant contact has been very reassuring. I feel they have got to know my father well .
My mum had a respite visit for 11 days to Fairby Grange, whilst I was away on holiday. I found all the staff very helpful and approachable when arranging her visit and I'm pleased to say that mum thoroughly enjoyed her stay and only had good things to say when I picked her up.
Mum has been coming to Fairby Grange for respite stays for over a year. She has always enjoyed her stays here and after her latest respite visit decided she wanted to stay at Fairby full time. She is very happy, has made friends and speaks glowingly about the staff. The staff are very kind and go to great lengths to make sure mum is happy and well looked after.
Like most families, we had awful guilt with placing mum in a home, as she has dementia we worried that she wouldn't be able to tell us if carers didn't look after her, what wasted energy on our part! This home is excellent, the care given is amazing, the activities for residents constantly amazes me, and all the staff have time for residents they don't rush them, they speak to them, laugh with them, and listen to them. I have to time my visits on my mum's daily schedule as she is always doing something that the home has organised. Every part of Fairby is clean and I liken it to an upmarket B&B! The residents have what they want when they want, and the daily food menus would beat most guest houses, the Manager is so caring and that shows by the standards set by her and the owner as all staff seem to have the same happy outlook on life and care. My mum loves it, and although she can't remember fully who I am she has no trouble remembering that she is happy. Thank you Fairby Grange Team your wonderful

Very pleased with the level of care my uncle has received, he is extremely happy and has regained his mobility since his arrival. He is very well looked after, loves the food and the staff are all kind and caring and welcoming to his visitors.
As a family, we have been really grateful to all of the staff at Fairby Grange. They are all so friendly, welcoming and worked incredibly hard to make my auntie feel at home. She was looked after brilliantly and they accommodated her needs, always keeping us informed along the way with a tremendous amount of support to us all. The home itself has a wonderful feel, with a balance of calm but at the same time, has a lovely buzz too. I only have positive things to say.
Fairby Grange care home is smaller than most and one advantage of that is that staff know the residents well and both the manager and the owner are very visible and accessible. This helps foster a friendly and welcoming environment. It also means that family members find it easy to raise any issues and my experience has been that staff and management are very responsive. The care plans for residents are regularly reviewed and are detailed enough to give confidence that the home both recognises the needs of the individual and are doing their best to meet those needs. The home is well staffed and their response to COVID has been good. My mum was in a different home to start with and we moved her to Fairby Grange as we did not have confidence in the quality of the care that she was receiving. We are very happy with her experience at Fairby Grange and whilst l rarely ever complete reviews l feel comfortable in recommending this home.
Fairby Grange was an amazing home for mum, mother-in-law and father-in-law. They had respite care there for 4 months and then moved to their flat. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law's dementia got too much for my father-in-law to handle so she went back to Fairby Grange. They made her feel welcome and safe. She really did enjoy being there, the staff and managers were amazing with her, making sure every need was taken care of. Not only are they great carers but great bosses too as I worked at Fairby Grange for 9 years and still knew a lot for the staff when my mother and father-in-law moved in. I would always pick Fairby for my family's needs as they are a family-run home and truly do care.
