View Full Details of Generals MeadowMy mother was a long-term resident for about 7 years. During this time she was exceptionally well looked after and enjoyed her time there very much. It's important to note that her stay coincided with the COVID outbreak which Generals Meadow handled superbly including building a visiting capsule so that the residents and their visitors could safely visit each other. This brought tremendous comfort to our mother that she could see and talk to us but she was safe from the outside virus. The owners of Generals Meadow and all of their staff are exceptional in their residents' safety, enjoyment, nutrition, medical, physical and mental care. Finally, her end-of-life care was compassionately handled with complete professionalism for which the family are truly grateful.
Our mother has been at Generals Meadow since 2018. The staff continue to look after her in a caring and professional manner maintaining her dignity at all times and ensuring her safety in sensible and practical ways, as her dementia has developed further. In her more lucid moments, our mother says she feels safe and warm. All the staff have a good rapport with her and never appear rushed when time is needed to be with her.
Mum continues to receive superb care at Generals Meadows and is happy and contented. All the staff are very friendly and maintain a high degree of care and professionalism at all times. The home has a lovely 'homely' feel that makes Mum feel comfortable in her surroundings. They also have a lovely garden to the rear of the property that is well maintained and a place you can go and sit and relax.
My mother has now been a resident at Generals Meadow for a number of years (pre-COVID) and I cannot speak highly enough of the the caring and friendly staff, all of whom are clearly passionate and dedicated to the welfare of their residents. My mother is now not able to go out on the small trips we used to do, so is very reliant on support from staff to help her to feel cared for.
Have to say staff have always been friendly, they are very good with the residents. My aunt is in secure hands there. I myself join in with some of the activities they do. Always been made to feel welcome and couldn't really wish for anything better.
Generals Meadow is amazing, the staff go above and beyond for anything always happy to help and my auntie is always well looked after nothing is ever too much and if we ever have an issue it's sorted which doesn't really happen. It's very clean and tidy and the staff are so friendly. I love that we get to join in with activities as a family with my aunt and it's never a problem for us being there even my children like going.
I can't praise the manager and her wonderful team of staff enough for the compassionate care they are giving to my mother. They all go above and beyond my expectations. I feel very reassured that she is truly receiving the very best possible care at Generals Meadow. Mum tells us how very kind they all are to her which says it all!
Generals Meadow is a lovely care home where the carers and staff are always very kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble. Mum has been at Generals Meadow now for nearly two years and in her own words she says it is ‘superb’. She told me ‘you cannot fault the care in any way’, so I think that says it all.
My mother has been at Generals Meadow for over 4 years and has always received and continues to receive the finest of attention. The staff are really professional and show great care for their residents.
Living abroad with occasional visits to the UK I am extremely happy with the care and community atmosphere at Generals Meadow. When in the UK I drop in every day for a short time. My mother is always busy with her friends when I arrive. The staff are always welcoming, my mothers friends are often with her so we can say hello. There are plenty of beautiful quiet corners we can sit and chat over a cup of tea. When I leave my mother is always enthusiastic about rejoining her community, especially if it is lunchtime. Abroad I make regular video calls to keep in touch, so my mother can see my home, chat with my husband and, best of all see the cats. The staff always set up the equipment and make sure all is well. The garden is wonderful, the staff are always cheerful and helpful. Generals Meadow gives me great peace of mind when I think of my mother.
I feel many of the staff genuinely care for and are fond of Mum and treat her with both respect and warmth, all of which is top priority for us. They also helped us communicate with Mum via video call etc. during the pandemic; and nursed her back to health when she had COVID at 94. She herself when her dementia was less advanced would often say she felt the care was good and she felt safe and peaceful in her room. Both the building and garden are attractive and spacious and offer many good spaces for residents to enjoy. I believe there are also varied activities available but Mum has generally been reluctant to participate.
My mother in law who has dementia, has been at Generals Meadows for nearly 2 years and the level of care is outstanding. They are caring, attentive and she always talks about how she loves her girls and how kind they all are. She is always happy, clean, well presented, has her hair done, enjoys the food and loves her room. Some of the things they have done to help her with her dementia have been heartwarming. One example is providing her with Monopoly money, which she thinks is real, so that when we go out for coffee she still feels like she is treating her son to a drink or giving him pocket money - this makes her very happy. They have encouraged her to socialise a little more, and go out on activities but always at her own pace. I would not hesitate to recommend Generals Meadows. She was very poorly when she first got there but has really thrived. The team should be very proud.
My mother moved to Generals Meadow three years ago at the age of 90 with early-stage dementia. I can honestly say I have not seen her happier or more relaxed for many years. She finds the care both respectful and friendly and gets on well with the other residents. The staff are always so kind and have plenty of time for all the residents and understand individual needs. Each time I speak to my mother, she says - I don’t know how you found this home, but I am so glad you did. I don’t want to be anywhere else! This provides great peace of mind, knowing that she is not only safe but very happy.
We are delighted with Generals Meadow. My mother-in-law is very settled and happy there. She has a lovely room which overlooks the delightful garden. The staff are absolutely brilliant - so helpful and caring. My mother-in-law is always full of praise for them. The garden is a huge bonus, residents can walk in it or go in a wheelchair and we've spent lovely afternoons there.
The staff at this home are just wonderful. They make me happy as my mum says. The management and owners are always responsive and extremely helpful. Making someone feel at home when they have given up their independence is a real challenge but by working together as a team that is exactly what they have achieved. I can recommend them with confidence.
Mum has settled in very well, and the care shown has been exemplary. All of her needs have been catered for, and the staff are all very professional and most caring.
I have been visiting my elderly neighbour since April 2022. I have always found the standard of care excellent. The home is a professional but friendly environment. Staff and management are approachable and efficient, showing positive attention to detail.
My nan has been at Generals Meadow for a number of years now. She's proudly their longest-serving resident. My nan is a kind and intelligent woman and never struggles to have company and conversation with both staff and fellow residents. There is such a family and caring atmosphere and the extremely low turnover of staff and residents says it all. During Covid the owners have been extremely diligent and have an outstanding track record, I felt that we were in safe hands during an extremely tough time. The home is always immaculately clean and tidy. My nan is treated with such dignity and kindness, even whilst being immobile and needing to use a hoist for transferring and toileting. You'd never know her physical and medical troubles because she's always well-dressed, hygienic and put together. I know this takes time and a joint effort. I'm greeted with warm hospitality, the staff all know who I am and I feel confident with what they tell me, communication is great. Above all, my nan is happy.
I visit the care home every 2 or 3 weeks to see my stepmother. She is settled, warm and happy. It is lovely to see her so well looked after by very caring staff. I can be with her in her room, in the lounge or in the conservatory all of which are comfortable and nicely furnished. I have only glanced into the dining room but it looks like a restaurant with the tables laid ready for the next meal. The gardens are beautiful, wheelchair friendly and there is a garden room to sit in. The Covid security is good with all visitors required to take a Covid test before entry. Altogether, I am very impressed.
During my father's stay at the home, the staff have been caring and attentive. They utilised other healthcare service providers, and along with the staff's hard work, they have managed to assist my father in walking again, when on arrival just over a year ago he was only able to move around using a wheelchair. I cannot recommend this home enough for anyone wishing to find a placement for themselves or a family member. All the residents appear happy whenever I visit, which is weekly at this time and all are encouraged to mix in the beautifully laid-out manor house and gardens. You will be hard pushed to find a better-run residential home and dedicated staff.
