View Full Details of The Avenues Care CentreI have been and still am so impressed by the dedication of all staff, their kindness and cleanliness, even the minute details, and very attentive on my visits.
I bring a close old lady to visit her brother. I can't emphasise how impressed I am. All staff are so so kind, considerate and pleasant. Even when calling to see how resident is, they are so pleasant and kind. You have wonderful staff working at The Avenues.
This is my mum's second Christmas since she moved here last year. I can honestly say I've found the manager very supportive since my mum moved here. Management and staff have made every effort to make her feel welcome and included which I'm so grateful for.
My aunt never has any complaints or issues regarding her care or treatment by the staff. Normally there is always something to moan about but not here. It's not just a case of being polite, she is very happy here.
My sister has been at The Avenues for almost 2 years. The management and the staff have always been informative and caring. My sister has a lovely room which is decorated nicely and always warm. She also says that the meals are very good. I would like to thank everybody at The Avenues for their time and care for the time that my sister has been in your care. Many thanks.
Mum moved into The Avenues earlier this year after a deterioration in her dementia. When Mum arrived she was confused, worried and unhappy about no longer being able to live in her own home. All the staff at The Avenues have been wonderful with Mum since her first day, making her feel welcome, helping her settle in and showing patience and understanding on her bad days. Whenever I visit Mum the staff are smiling and take time to interact with residents, whether it be simply asking if they are ok or stopping to sit and have a chat. Mum has a lovely room, that my sister has made feel homely by adding some of Mum's belongings from home. There are activities that Mum can join in with if she wants to, or she can sit with other residents in the lounge or she can spend time in her room when she wants to. This flexibility makes Mum feel that she still has some independence. I cannot speak highly enough of The Avenues and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a care home to look after their loved one.
My stepmother has been a resident since 2017. The work the home manager and the team do is excellent. They are always thoughtful and forward-looking. When my father died in the home in 2018 they were so kind and helpful.
The Avenues Care Home cares for my Mother aged 90, she has been a resident there for three years, my Dad also used to share a room with her until he died recently. The staff care exceptionally for her above and beyond her needs checking she is looked after daily has coffee and sits downstairs with the staff in the community room. Would recommend the care home
My Mother has been here since last year which was extremely difficult for her and us to begin with. Scared, aggressive and now alone after the passing of her husband. I live in California but got to visit last week. I was so surprised, happy and thankful for how she is now. She's calm, put on weight, walks completely unaided and has done a complete 180. I cannot thank the staff enough for their caring, tenderness and empathy with the residents. The home was clean with no nasty 'urine covered up with disinfectant' smells. My mother is in her 90s and has always been very independent and is still thankfully allowed to be but always watched and supervised when needed. The staff didn't know when I was arriving so that alone told me everything. I was welcomed in, shown where she was and left to enjoy our visit. Security was very good with two locked and pinned doors before the front door can be accessed. Thank you again so much, I will hopefully be back really soon.
I was a resident for 5 months, leaving late April 2024 having suffered from delirium caused by an infection. The staff at The Avenues Care Centre, Margate were caring, empathetic and keen to help me during my stay. I would like to thank them all for their hard work, enthusiasm and dedication towards me. The management team were professional and knowledgeable about the current processes and procedures. Thank you to all staff for their help in making my stay at The Avenues Care Centre, Margate easier, during a traumatic period of my life.
My husband has been staying here since December 2023, I have to say our overall experience has been extremely good. The staff are happy and always willing to help. The home has a good atmosphere and there is always something going on. Food on the whole is good and there is plenty available.
My Mother recently passed away at The Avenues and had been living there since August 2019. Throughout her time at The Avenues, she was kept well and monitored throughout, our family was always kept informed of any issues or incidents relating to our mum. The nature of her illness and her slow but steady deterioration meant that from time to time we received news that was not always welcome, but we were always grateful for the speed and clarity of the communication from the staff at the home. Visiting throughout our mum's time at the home was, with the exception of the Covid period, easy to organize and we had plenty of opportunities to see Mum's room and speak with the staff and the management team, always useful to hear what our mum had been up to between visits. In my opinion, under sometimes very difficult circumstances, The Avenues does a very good job of safeguarding it's residents and communicating with the resident's families. The manager and the staff should be commended.
I am writing to express my deep concern and shock regarding the abhorrent condition in which I found my friend, during my recent visit to your care home. The sight I encountered was truly distressing, leaving me deeply troubled and compelled to bring this matter to your immediate attention. Upon entering his room he was lying on the bed, half-naked, with a soiled and overflowing diaper hanging off him. The stench was unbearable, and it was evident that he had not been properly cleaned or attended to for an extended period. I was devastated to see him in such an unhygienic and degrading state. Moreover, it was painfully evident that he had experienced a significant decline in his overall health and well-being. He appeared alarmingly thin, resembling a mere skeleton. This drastic weight loss raises serious concerns about the level of care and attention he has been receiving at your facility. It is absolutely unacceptable.
When my mother was first admitted we didn't think she would settle. She was admitted by the NHS for 4 weeks assessment. Seven weeks on having had her care assessment she doesn't want to leave! The staff are absolutely brilliant with her and all pop in to have a chat. Mum is 94 but still has a sense of humour and sharp mind so she loves the contact with them all. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who is a part of The Avenues Care Centre.
My mum has been a resident for a couple of months. Although, Mum was initially distressed, due to her dementia and the change of environment, when she first went to the home, she has settled in so well and is thriving. The care home has a lovely, welcoming and family atmosphere. The staff go above and beyond to make our family feel included in my mum's care. They have celebrated special events, such as Christmas and birthdays with parties, which my mum has really enjoyed. We have regular communication from the staff and are continuously updated about Mum's progress, including things that she has achieved, as well as whether she has seen the doctor and has new medication. My mum has become more physically active since staying at The Avenues Care Centre. She is shuffling less and her walking pace has increased. I believe this is due to the wonderful staff, and the activities within the home, including regular walks. I would highly recommend the home and could not fault the care my mum has received.
My husband arrived at The Avenues Care Centre on 24th May 2022, from the moment he arrived, he had the most excellent care, all the staff are so caring and the care they give is outstanding, my husband really settled in well and was very happy there, but unfortunately, he passed away in his sleep on 19th September 2022. Would definitely recommend this care home.
I have found whenever I need any information about my sister that the staff are more than helpful and kept me well informed. I never yet found any problem, having all the help from them. My sister has never complained about any bad treatment she has received from the home. I wish them the best in the future.
My father-in-law has been at the Grosvenor for approximately three years now and we have been very happy with the service and care provided to him. More importantly, my father-in-law is very happy there and has expressed on a number of occasions that he does not want to move - for us this is the best reassurance we can receive. During COVID the staff have been under immense worry and pressure dealing with horrific unprecedented circumstances, all of which they have dealt with incredibly well. Our thanks and gratitude go out to all the staff that have continued to work tirelessly, ensuring as best they can the safety and care of my father-in-law and his fellow residents. Thank you.
The home is blessed with nice staff. I have had problems but the most important thing is that I can talk to staff and management and I would say that the home is going in the right direction. Thank you to staff during the COVID time.
My grandmother was a resident at Grosvenor Care Home for a little over a year, and we cannot fault the dedication or care with which she was treated by the staff. We were made welcome by the management from the first day we went to see the home, and that remained constant throughout all of our subsequent visits. My grandmother had dementia, and the staff were always patient with her, kept us informed of any changes in her condition, and were very friendly to us on our regular visits. Her room was clean and tidy, and she was always dressed well. When the home was closed due to Covid-19, they kept us informed of her condition, and made sure we could have private video call in order to say goodbye. They have been more than kind and supportive to us in this difficult time, and we couldn’t have wished for Grandmother to be in other home.
I have been and still am so impressed by the dedication of all staff, their kindness and cleanliness, even the minute details, and very attentive on my visits.
