View Full Details of HamiltonsAll staff are fantastic and my father received the very best care possible. Can not thank them enough.
My father has been a resident of Hamiltons Care Home for the last six months having had dementia for some years. Sadly he recently passed away. He went in originally for short term respite care, but the family decided that he would be better off in permanent care, which was without doubt the best decision for him. Without doubt the level of care, compassion, kindness and understanding from all of the staff at Hamiltons is of the highest order and they are to be congratulated and thanked. When dad was very poorly towards the end they phoned regularly, giving updates on his condition and the direction of visiting medical staff. This was of great benefit to the family. Without doubt a quality team, well lead and thank you very much on behalf of the whole family.
A heartfelt thank you to the manager, staff and owners of Hamiltons for all their care, patience and perseverance shown to our mother during her year as a resident. She arrived in serious mental and physical decline, due to her dementia, hospitalisation and accidents living alone in her own home. Thanks to the staff's hard work in rehabilitating her, Mum can now look forward to a future with greater independence. As a family that lives some distance away, we are deeply grateful for the support that Hamiltons has given us, as well as our mother, in adjusting to this process. Nothing has ever been too much trouble, the phone at Hamiltons has always been answered, a pragmatic, honest approach always taken and we have never felt our mother has been cut off from us. Most importantly of all, the staff have met Mum where she stands, with compassion. The kindness and respect shown to our mother at Hamiltons has made all the difference in the world to her. Mum will miss you all very much!
I can fully recommend this care home. The staff were extremely friendly and professional and the manager is excellent with his friendly and helpful professionalism. Nothing was too much for him and you could always approach him and he would help you. My husband has had to go into long-term care and my only regret is that the manager and his staff weren't able to transfer with him.
My mum recently passed away at Hamiltons having been there for over 8 months. Her condition continued to deteriorate during her stay to the point that she had no verbal communication and was unable to do anything for herself, eating only puréed food. Despite this being a very difficult situation, I have no doubt that she got the very best loving care and assistance the staff could possibly have provided. They are such a lovely and friendly team, it feels like an extension of our family. I couldn’t fault their skills and professionalism, always making us feel very welcome when visiting and keeping in touch with any updates on Mum. Their warmth and compassion at her passing have been so sincere, that I wholeheartedly recommend Hamiltons to care for a loved one.
My Mother in Law moved into Hamiltons on the 6th March 2023 having spent the previous 6 months in hospital and an NHS Assessment Unit. During this time her health and dementia had deteriorated substantially and she was virtually bedbound. Her improvement since moving into Hamiltons has been nothing short of amazing. She gets up every day and now sits in her chair and walks with her zimmer frame. She is now eating really well and has put weight on as she was severely underweight. Her improvement is solely down to the care and attention she receives from all of the staff. She is much happier and enjoys a witty rapport with everyone. All her family are delighted with her improvement in such a short period of time. We are hoping she has a long stay at the home and cannot thank all the staff enough for everything that they do for her.
Mum arrived at Hamiltons from the hospital very ill. The care and dedication of the staff were second to none. Within weeks she was back to her happy self. Eight months later Mum became very ill and died shortly after. We as a family will always thank the staff for the love and support along with the care they gave her. Mum's last days were filled with compassion. It is a lovely care home.
The staff at Hamiltons residential home made my mother's last few months as pleasant and comfortable as they possibly could be. They showed a great sense of humour and appeared to enjoy her company as much as she did theirs. She had a very high level of care and concern from all staff and myself and my family was made very welcome during our regular visits. They made the passing of my mother far easier than it could have been without their care and support.
Mum was at Hamiltons for the last 16 months of her life, and she loved it. The staff, including managers, cooks and caregivers and cleaners, were amazing. I was allowed to stay with my mum in her final three days, and the love and support that I received were outstanding. Everyone was very professional at all times, but it was also like a family. Cannot thank the staff enough for the care given to my mum.
The staff at Hamilton's very kindly accepted my father after a difficult search to find a care home that would be able to offer a safe environment for him with what can only be described as difficult and challenging behaviour due to dementia. We had an experience at a previous home that left us worried that he would be treated as a number and not a person, but this was not the case; every time he was visited during his 18-month stay, he was always clean, smart and well cared for. We always found the staff very caring and understanding of my father's needs and were always available on the phone to talk to if needed. Hamilton's is not just a care home, this is a home that cares, and I thank all the staff for all your help and support from the start of my father's care through to the end. Thank you.
I recommend this place 100%, the staff are amazing and the place has a real heart to it. Good location, plenty of parking with a supportive and flexible staff team who go above and beyond their job descriptions.
My father was deemed to require 24-hour care provision several years ago, and I cannot thank the staff at Hamiltons enough for making the final years of Dad's life happy and safe. There is a warm atmosphere, and staff are always friendly and kind; a culture of caring is evident. The food always looks good, and there is a great variety. Lastly and most importantly, I am very impressed with the effective leadership - noted in particular, at this time when we are having to protect ourselves against Covid.
Good clean environment. All residents are treated as individuals and interact with them. There's a family feel in the communal area and lounge. The staff sit with residents when doing paperwork. The registered manager works with family members to put the resident's wellbeing first. Very strong leadership. A good level of contact with residents' families ie: family kept updated.
This is a small home of 17 residents, previously a restaurant. Period house plus new build. Visitor parking available. Cosy atmosphere. A bit shabby in places. No smell of urine. Staff kindly, energetic, respectful to residents, helpful to visitors. Staff seem capable, decisive. Have met management only once, was OK. Residents happy there, food OK. New TV fitted in room, the delay due to poor roof ariel. Local shop useful, but clothes lost!
Very welcoming staff, always explain things to me. They all work under pressure. Very kind staff and nothing is too much trouble - making cups of tea and bringing in chairs. The staff are very honest - if there is a problem - insufficient staff, or clothes going walkabout or problems re the TV they will be open about it. The home smells 'normal' - there are no unpleasant odours.
My husband has been at Hamiltons for over two years after I had double amputations so unable to care for him full time. He comes home for a weekend once a month and is always happy to return, being welcomed back with hugs and a cuppa. His care has been wonderful, he enjoys the food they prepare too. I visit for a day once a week to see how good the care is. The staff are fantastic with their care and patience and love.
I am more than happy with the care that is shown at Hamiltons to all residents. The staff are always happy to discuss any questions you might have regarding all aspects of life there.
When I visit my brother, he is always clean and they welcome me like I am part of their family. It is a relaxed atmosphere and there are no offensive smells. It is at a comfortable temperature and they show such professional care. I truly trust them and I can leave calmly knowing my brother is well looked after.
My sister is very happy here. She has been in a home before but wasn't treated very well. The staff here are wonderful.
My husband was in Hamiltons for many years and he said it was better than any hotel. The care was excellent and if I have to go into care this will be my first choice. I have been to visit many care homes when working for Age UK so I know what I'm talking about. This is a ten-star place.
