View Full Details of Haslington Lodge Care HomeMy dad came into Haslington Lodge Care Home in July for end of life care. He was given approx 6 weeks due to his COPD deteriorating. We are now in January 2025 and my dad still here! I put this solely down to the attention and care he receives from all the staff. I don't worry about my dad living there and I know when the time comes he will pass in comfort and love.
My husband has been in the home now for over two years, he is very well looked after, and the staff are excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for them. If you have any problems, they will help to solve them. Everyone there is kind, loving and respectful. It is one of the best homes I've been in where the staff care for the residents. All the major events are covered, with the staff talking to the residents about each event. I'm very happy for my husband to be a resident in the home.
My very dear friend of 40 years spent his final days at this home. He became part of a very loving family the staff were always kind loving and respectful. I can't thank them enough. He passed away very peacefully on the first of October, the home gave us so much support at this very sad time. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff. Kind regards.
My mother has vascular dementia and has been living here since March 2024 and it is a lovely friendly care home. The carers go out of their way to make sure my mother is happy and not stressed, thank you. There is one thing that could be improved and that is my mother only goes out once a week to Bingo and needs to get out more.
Whenever I visit Haslington Lodge Care home, to visit my friend of many years, I am always greeted by the most friendliest of staff. It was really lovely to see all the residents, that I have become so familiar with enjoying their dinner around the table, looking happy and relaxed. (it all seemed really cosy and homely). The staff encouraging independence but helps when needed. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxed, the residents looked clean and well cared for, and it was clear that the carers and nurses really do care for their residents. Haslington is a really caring and homey place, the staff are always so helpful and wanting to help. The office staff are also very polite and helpful and always want to do the best for the residents. Haslington Lodge is a warm and friendly place, and it is the staff that makes it special. Thank you for all you do for our resident friend.
This care home is amazing with all people of different needs. My nan was a dementia patient who needed 24-hour assistance in my tasks and the carers were actually caring. My nan sadly passed this year 2024. But she was always happy there and made to feel like they were her family. My grandad was also here in 2023 for a short period due to mobility issues and he also loved every minute before his tragic passing in 2023. Very highly recommend this amazing care home.
It was a very scary experience for my dad and our family having him in a home at 65, especially with such complex needs. However the staff have been absolutely amazing, they really take the time to listen to his needs and accommodate him well. This is also the first care home who have great communication and will always call to inform us of anything whether it be minor or major. Emails from the staff are also very reassuring to see what’s been happening in the week and what the residents have been up to. The standard of care is really great. We are very grateful to you all.
Laughter first attracted us to the Haslington. It certainly was not a dull place. My late Husband was a resident at the Haslington for thirteen months. During that time he was looked after and cared for by the various staff members. He laughed and joked with them, he even prayed with them. Unfortunately, he did not respond to treatment when he had his final infection. At this time, the various staff would come to his room, whilst I was there, to speak to him and encourage him. Sadly, when he passed, members of the staff were upset with us. At that time, the staff made sure that we were looked after and fed, etc. We had become a family again and not just Carers, thanks to the Haslington Staff. My Daughter and I would strongly recommend the Haslington to anyone seeking long-term care for a loved one.
As a family, we would like to thank the staff at Haslington Lodge who welcomed Nan into their care home last summer. Nan has been welcomed with open arms along with us as a family that visits regularly. The care staff are always welcoming and you feel a warm sense of care when we visit. Special mention goes to one staff member in particular, she literally is the queen of activities going above and beyond to support Nan and others within the home. Always keeping us in the loop of activities and inviting us in to spend time with Nan at different events. She regularly asks our opinions and puts Nan and other residents at the heart of what she does. Another mention is for the manager, who has always communicated with me directly and always keeps us informed, she always has her door open and is at the end of an email should I need her. Lastly, the carer who always offers us a drink when we visit, this goes a long way in making us feel welcome when we visit. Overall a huge thank-you to everyone at Haslington.
Dad is very comfortable and extremely well looked after. All the staff are excellent, friendly and caring for the residents. We are very happy with the overall provision of care for Dad, we could not ask for any more.
We are so pleased with the care our dad is receiving there at Haslington Lodge. Nothing is too much trouble for the carers of our dad. He is very well looked after, and we are at peace with the fact that we know he is ok there and being looked after well.
Mum receives good care at Haslington Lodge. She needs a lot of help as her mobility is very limited. If there is a problem/small accident, the home is quick to notify us. Most staff now know Mum’s needs and deal with her accordingly. I am sometimes concerned that the doctor only appears to visit the home once a week and so there can sometimes be a long wait. Mum has been quite settled over recent weeks.
My dad has been here for a few months now and has settled in with no problems. It was not an easy decision but so glad we chose Haslington. The care he receives is outstanding and I would not hesitate to recommend this home. The staff are so kind and caring to the residents and treat them respectfully which is important to see from a family's perspective. Whenever we visit there is always a friendly and happy welcome from the staff who go out of their way to make you feel at home. Quote from my dad: 'the food is nice, everyone talks to me and it’s very clean' what more could we ask for.
My das has been a resident at Haslington Lodge since September. We have seen such a difference in him; he is now mixing with other residents and staff. He is always clean and tidy no matter when we visit. He has never once complained about any of the food and always enjoys his Saturday brunch. The staff are always so happy and helpful - nothing ever seems to be too much trouble. Would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone for the care being given to Dad.
My mum has been a resident of Haslington Lodge for the last three years. They have looked after her so well. All the staff are lovely, and I’m eternally grateful for the care they give my mum. Would highly recommend this care home.
My husband came to Haslington Lodge just 11 days ago after languishing in hospital for 3 months where his dignity and mobility were robbed. In his very short time of residence, the improvement is extraordinary. Every member of staff has been exemplary, compassionate and respectful. Nothing is too much trouble for my husband and my family. Thank you for helping greatly at an extremely difficult time for us and assuring us that my husband is receiving the best possible care.
My mum is at Haslington Lodge, the care she receives is good and her health and appearance have improved in the few months she's been there. Any problems are dealt with and I'm phoned regularly with updates.
My brother, after a week in this home, had a fall. He said he felt dizzy, nothing was done. My brother had special hospital socks to wear at all times, why is he not wearing them, they said we will find out, but they never did. I asked again they said we are short of staff. I asked to see the manager, she is busy. We asked how is he getting on, they said the doctor wants a blood test done and that we need to change his medication. My brother was in the home for 3 weeks and he passed away, he was only 71. My sister got a phone call from the staff on duty to say what happened we got him out of the chair to take him to bed late at night and he said he felt dizzy, they got him to his bed he passed away with a blood clot. We never got a phone call from the home manager to say how sorry she was or try to explain anything, so I rang her 3 days later and she was so rude, cold, did not seem to care. She said this is a police matter, once the body leaves the building in a bag its got nothing to do with us.
My mother was a resident for six months before she passed away. The staff are worth their weight in gold. The care she received was outstanding. She was well looked after and shown respect and dignity. I cannot rate Haslington and the staff highly enough. I can only thank them for looking after my dear mum in her final months.
Mum has been at Haslington for over eight years, and to be honest, we haven't had to question her care in all this time. The staff and the care home manager are superb.... we owe them a lot.
