View Full Details of Highfield Private Rest HomeMy sister has thrived in Highfield, she is now more like her old self - very happy and well looked after both physically and mentally. Every member of staff are fantastic and care about the residents.
Staff are friendly and helpful, if I have a question. They are caring towards residents and very patient. Rooms are a little dated and small but always spotlessly clean. Staff are proactive with health issues. If I ask about something, for example, a new rash, they are always aware and have had it looked at by a GP.
Dad has been at Highfield Private Rest Home for 6 months. Staff are very friendly and informative. Any minor ailments have have been taken care of immediately. He is always clean and tidy. Response time from management is immediate. Keep up the good work!
All the team are very supportive and friendly to residents and family. My father has been well looked after and his physical health has improved since arriving at Highfield Private Rest Home. It's really helped having the activities schedule back, it's reignited his love of singing and football!

My mother has been a resident at Highfield Care Home for four years now. We were so fortunate to find this home at the height of the Covid pandemic and the care she has received has always been exceptionally good. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to anyone.
Always polite when shown in. Friednly, comfotable atmosphere. Rooms clean, and smell fresh. Food looks nicely presented.
Since my auntie moved into the home she has improved immensely. She appears very happy. The staff go above and beyond for her.
The family are very happy with the care and attention our father receives from the friendly and helpful staff. Staff always keep us updated with Dad's care. They are great and my dad is happy and is blessed.
Small, friendly care home. Nice room and smells of homecooked food. All staff very polite, professional, and friendly. Exceptional with residents. Excellent care. Good communication. Nothing too much trouble. My dad has settled in really well.
I visited my father-in-law today. Highfield Private Rest Home organised a garden party with music and singers, very good! As well, the party food and drinks were excellent and of very good choice and quality. Not only residents but also family members enjoyed it all. Went to my father-in-law's room was very tidy and everything was where he needed it.
Great staff very helpful, friendly always willing to go the extra mile. Highfield was recommended for my mother and now my father-in-law are very well looked after.
Staff very helpful and very caring. Clean home.
My elderly mother joined Highfield in June 2019 when she was no longer able to live on her own and needed constant care. All the staff made her feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. They were strict with Covid restrictions and we were able to visit once we had tested negative. My mother passed away in Highfield on June 27th 2021 when she was 97-years-old. We had been with her all day but she was very frail and passed away due to old age. The home was so helpful to us and had purchased special equipment to make Mum more comfortable as she became more frail. We were allowed to visit her at any time. The rooms are all well maintained, bright and welcoming. The staff all friendly and welcoming. They all take time to find out about the family and my grandchildren liked to visit Great Nana. I would recommend this home.
In 2011 my parents joined the Highfield family. From day one, they received excellent care, were happy, always treated with dignity, respect and their different interests were accommodated. The rapport between them and every staff member was extremely special to all of us. Dad was diabetic but received a balanced diet of nutritious home-cooked food - even suitable Birthday cakes! Over time his mobility became extremely poor, so he needed a lot of help but was never made to feel a burden. Mum died in 2015, but Dad remained a resident until March 2020 when at 91, his time came. As with Mum, the compassion, professionalism, and palliative care shown by everyone at this time were outstanding. Realising that I could no longer look after my parents as both needed full-time residential care was hard to accept. I am so pleased I chose Highfield and after nearly 9-years, I too will miss their friendship. Highfield is the ideal residential home which I shall continue to recommend. Thank you all.
Our father was in Highfield until he was moved to a specialist dementia home. The care that Highfield showed with Dad was amazing. They did their best to accommodate his needs and kept the family informed at all times. For our family, this is the best care home in the Hythe area. We have experience of other care homes in the area which are not as good. We highly recommend this home. The manager is amazing.
Mum had a short stay at Highfield in September 2018. She thoroughly enjoyed her time there. The staff are wonderful and the food was very good. Mum's en-suite room was light, spotlessly clean and offered her excellent privacy when she wanted it. She enjoyed the reminiscence sessions and the socialization available. Also great was that dogs are allowed with visitors and our two were very much welcomed by staff and residents alike. Mum's physical and emotional wellbeing improved whilst at the home and the staff were able to take on the management of her medication for me. The home staff kept me informed about things I needed to now but actually, I felt very secure leaving Mum's care in their hands for a couple of weeks. What was especially nice was the time they took to greet Mum on arrival and get to know her. That made a big difference.
I have a very pleasant room. I find all the staff whatever job they do very helpful and pleasant. The food is very good. I'm sure as they must love their jobs they so such as the carers otherwise they wouldn't go into the job. It needs a lot of hard work and patience.
