View Full Details of Holywell ParkIn my mind what sets Holywell Park apart is that it has the feeling that it is the residents home first of all. In this respect the staff are very professional and caring, but also have an informality when they are mixing with the residents, chatting, joking and showing a real interest in them. The activities schedule at Holywell is very comprehensive and varied with activities most days. Mum is wheelchair bound and being at Holywell means that she has been able to go out on trips with the other residents every month. The home has an active Facebook page which is regularly updated with photos and videos. This feed regularly includes images of Mum getting involved in a whole range of activities and really enjoying herself. Seeing Mum smiling in these images, confirms our view that we struck lucky when we found Holywell and took the decision to let Mum move there last August.
Our family member went to stay here for two week respite, but unfortunately with her condition getting worse and circumstances changing she will be staying. The manger has been absolutely amazing, with all her help and support also every one of the staff are so lovely and friendly and have made everyone feel so welcome and accommodating to help her settle in. From the cleaners to chefs to entertainment girls, the carers and the receptionist is absolutely lovely we couldn't ask for better place for our loved one to be. They go above and beyond, the atmosphere is lovely and the home cleanliness is 10/10. We are so grateful for this beautiful home and that our loved one is here. The care that is give is amazing. Just want to say that the entertainment girls are just amazing, they make everyone laugh and the care and fun they give everyone in there is just incredible. Well done to every single staff member at Holywell Park Care Home. Thank you.
My wife arrived at Holywell Park on Friday 6 December, having previously been assessed by the manager. Over the weekend she was highly agitated and fell several times. On Monday 9 December the home arranged for her to be taken by ambulance to A&E, despite there being no physical injury, and said that she was not welcome to come back, so effectively making her homeless. She was very unhappy there and while some of the staff treated her kindly it was a very sad short experience.
A wonderful home full of dedicated staff committed to ensuring a caring environment for patients in the last years of their lives. I cannot speak to highly of the way they looked after my 97 year old mother, a sufferer from dementia.
The most welcoming staff were amazing despite the short stay due to travelling. A massive thank you for all you did.
My dad went to Holywell on respite in July 2023 and ended up staying there. We visited many care homes before deciding on Holywell and without doubt the thing that makes this home stand head and shoulders above the rest was the absolute love care and attention the staff give to the residents. The care staff genuinely care. They are not simply doing a job. They go over and above and I have seen staff come to summer events on their day off and still look after the residents. Not because they have been told to or asked to but because they do genuinely have an affection for the residents. Everyone at the home from kitchen and cleaning staff, the carers, nurses, admin staff and maintenance are friendly and kind. Dad's room is always immaculately clean. Being a relative of a person at Holywell is like gaining a whole new family. There really is a family feel. They celebrate every residents birthdays and do their utmost to make their day special with cakes and presents. The activities staff are amazing. They have planned activities every day. All residents are encouraged to join and they include those who maybe cannot get out of bed. Activities range from arts, crafts, games, live entertainment, baking, themed days, any national celebrations (Halloween etc.) sports, garden parties, BBQs, nursery kids visiting, days out, pamper days for men and women, animal visits. The list goes on. They have a whole year of activities planned. They take the time to find out what each resident enjoys and try to incorporate that too. Dad has Alzheimer's and it took him some time to settle in but the staff were patient with him. He is now very settled and is extremely happy at Holywell. I get to see glimpses of Dad's mischievous side where he is cheeky to the staff and at times winds them up which they all take in good spirit. The decision to put Dad in a home has been made so much easier by everyone at Holywell and I can genuinely relax in the knowledge that Dad is well looked after, safe and happy.
The staff are amazing, always positive, kind and friendly.
Our Mum has advanced dementia and has been a resident at Holywell Park for over a year. As she has become frailer, her needs have increased. Our family experience of Holywell has been incredibly positive. Without a doubt, it is the amazing staff that makes Holywell so special. Every staff member is professional, caring and understanding. They care for Mum and her family. We could not have gone through all the ups and downs of Mum's illness without them. Despite the many challenges, the staff face daily, they always remain calm and positive. We cannot thank them enough for the love and care they all give to our mum.
No words can be put together about Holywell Park Nursing Home. You are amazing, all of you caring and thoughtful. Always have time to chat with me about everything. Dad's care is excellent in every aspect. The social side of things is all singing all dancing, the residents are really happy, and love seeing all of you get up to via social media, well done.
My mum was in the home for seven weeks. I/we found the staff warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. I found the staff kind and respectful to my mum. There was a cheerful jolly atmosphere, and the residents seemed content and happy.
My dad has been here for over a year now. The staff are lovely and so supportive. My dad really enjoys the activities, such as day trips. The staff do a great job of keeping me up to date at all times and the nurses are always checking up on any changes in health. I feel he is safe which is very important to me.
With a rocky start with my dad's arrival and with all the help and support from the staff he doesn't want to be anywhere else (and that is saying a lot). It is lovely going in and visiting because we are always greeted with a warm welcome and smiles. The activities they do have got my dad active and taking part, something he would not have done before. My mind is at peace knowing he is well cared for, clean, tidy, well watered and fed (he loves the food). But most of all he is happy!
I am more than happy with my aunt's care. She has now settled in well and I can't think of any complaints whatsoever. All the staff are friendly and kind and although we have only been connected to Holywell Park since the end of August, staff are now recognising us when we arrive. Overall a very good care home for my aunt. The food must be very good as my aunt is notoriously a finicky eater and she says the food is nice!
My husband was a resident in Holywell Park for about 14 months before passing away recently. Throughout his stay, he was treated with the utmost courtesy and respect even if he was being difficult. His dignity was always maintained and his personal hygiene was attended to excellently. Staff in all departments were unfailingly patient, sometimes under considerable pressure. With my limited knowledge of care homes, Holywell was in my opinion first rate.
My mum has only been resident for 2 weeks, but from the moment I went to view I knew it was a good place. All the staff are happy and smiling, they greet every resident as a dear friend and in fact they probably are as every member of staff I have asked has been there for at least 9 years. They all love their jobs and the residents. Nothing is too much trouble. The home is a beautiful old house set in stunning grounds with lovely views, which I prefer. Mum has settled well, for which I am grateful as they can cater to all her future health/nursing care as needed. All the activities and outings are a bonus too and everyone is encouraged to participate. Keep up the good work. It is a 5-star hotel, in fact probably better than that.
My father was admitted to the home from an assessment right after hospital treatment with a view to long term care. He's been looked after very well and his committed his carries were very nice. Myself and my family feel very happy about him being in the house and the carers have removed a lot of the worries about looking after my father.
Staff always polite, considerate and very helpful. Nothing appears to be too much trouble.
I am so happy that we were lucky enough to find this beautiful home. The staff are amazing and we feel really happy that Mum is so safe and wonderfully cared for. It is a very difficult decision to make, but with the support of the home, it makes things a lot easier. The building is very stately and very clean and tidy, the grounds and position are stunning. Everybody I have met there on my visits are so friendly and caring. Always laugh and are so lovely towards the residence. The choice of endless food is amazing, it is like sitting in a restaurant. The staff work so incredibly hard and get the feeling that the whole operation is managed very well. We would like to thank each and every one of you for looking after Mum and the care you offer to her. Thank you so much.
We have found Holywell Park to be friendly and welcoming. All the staff care ably for the residents. We are reassured that the residents are in a safe environment with constant care and nursing. The range of activities provided for the resident's entertainment is good and the staff support and engagement is always kind.
New, but so very happy with the carer for my husband.
