View Full Details of LavendersMy mother-in-law has been a resident at Lavenders since February 2024, is well settled, and very happy indeed. Both my parents have now joined her and we cannot rate Lavenders highly enough. It is superbly well run, with kind, attentive and experienced staff, which is, in our experience, not easy to find. The meals provided are delicious, of extremely high quality, and much enjoyed by our three nonagenarian parents. High praise to the chef(s). We feel so very fortunate to have Lavenders close by and would recommend it highly to anyone considering a care home for their loved ones. Thank you Lavenders, for your wonderful managerial staff and all the amazing team that make this home an exceptionally happy place.
First expressions: Quiet and tranquil location and setting. Friendly staff throughout, very attentive putting residents' needs first. Hotel feel with freedom to move around premises. Ample lounges allowing families to meet. The moving-in experience was seamless and the team on hand to facilitate Dad's needs from entering made him relax. Food options and quality are very good. Dad is relaxed and comfortable within his surroundings. Room pleasant but small however option to move to a larger room are available on availability. Facility very clean.
Our father has now been a resident at Lavenders for 6 weeks, he has settled in well and says he is really happy. This is due to the excellent caring staff he has. Whenever I visit they make me feel very welcome and if we have any questions to ask, they always come back as soon as possible with an answer. He's worried about putting weight on, due to the top-notch food they serve each day. Thank you all for helping our dad settle in.
Where do I start. The first time I walked through the door to look around for Mum. I knew it was the right place for her and she would be very happy here. It certainly lives up to what I originally thought. The care team are excellent. The home is so comfortable and friendly. Gardens gorgeous. Activities great. Food is amazing big portions though. Mum loves the soup and sandwiches in the evening. Her room looks on the entrance and she loves seeing everyone come in and out. Perfect for her as at her bungalow she never saw people walk past. Mum loves it and we are delighted that Mum is happy and content making the rest of her life enjoyable and comfortable. We can come and see her whenever we want. Perfect.
Mum has been at Lavenders since February this year, and we have been very pleased with the home - with the facilities, the care, and all of the staff that we have met. Communication is good, with the office and with the senior carers on shift, and we are kept well-informed when anything happens. The staff have always been friendly, polite, and helpful, and are very patient with Mum. There are plenty of activities on offer, though Mum doesn't go to that many of them despite encouragement; she is also encouraged to sit out in the lounge which is bright and airy with a nice view of the grounds, and she seems to do that quite often. I would recommend anyone with a friend or relative needing care to have a look at Lavenders.
Lavenders have proven now and in the past to offer excellent service to their resident in all aspects that benefit the quality of life be it accommodation, catering, entertainment, care, understanding, motivated staff-quality management all these vital components are on display.
Very welcoming, nice staff, always helpful and will return at some point.
We were looking for a care home for my mother-in-law when she told us she could no longer cope and was lonely. No one likes to have to put a loved one into a home, but I'm so pleased we discovered Lavenders, we could not have asked for or found a better care home. From the moment she went in she has felt safe, happy and cared for. The staff have a great work ethic and are so kind and caring, nothing is too much trouble. Plus there are many activities in which to take part if you wish to. From the top to the bottom Lavenders is an excellent care home in all aspects with very high standards, I would not hesitate to recommend it.
This home has been the height of respecting dignity in caring for my father. All staff are dedicated, approachable, caring and interactive. The quality of care is good, the food is excellent, and the activity coordinator works hard to provide social interaction daily with special events throughout the year. The environment is comfortable and welcoming, clean, and meets individual needs.
Lavenders is a 5 star facility in areas, we would not put any member of our family anywhere else now or in the future, in fact, I would like to go here myself when the time comes. From the moment you walk in the door for the first time, you know your loved one is in a safe and caring environment and confirm as a family we made the right choice with Lavenders.
Recommended by friends who have/have had relations at Lavenders and have found that my stepmother has praised the staff for their kindness, caring and work ethics. The food she says is wonderful which is praise indeed and enjoys the activities which are numerous. We are very satisfied that she is in caring hands and being well looked after. Immediate post-Covid restrictions were strictly adhered to which again is reassuring. Needless to say, she has taken full advantage of the hairdresser, nail and chiropodist and the odd cake which we must congratulate the pastry chef for the glorious choice available. Whenever we arrive, with or without notice, we find her room is clean with her in freshly laundered clothing. All in all would have no hesitation in recommending Lavenders.
All the staff are kind caring and conscience. They are friendly and helpful towards both residents and their families. Everywhere is clean and tidy, and the laundry service is very efficient. The only quibble mum has is the food can be a bit repetitive, lots of chicken. Also a bit bland. More variety would be nice. More fresh vegetables and nicer bread, such as fresh bread rolls. We have also asked if mum could have goat's cheese as she is allergic to cow's cheese but this hasn't happened. We appreciate it must be hard to cater for all tastes in this situation.
My father has now been a resident at Lavenders for a year. Overall he is very well cared for and any needs are addressed promptly. Initially, it was difficult for him to adjust to losing his independence but with the excellent care and support given by the staff, he has now settled in. He enjoys the excellent food which is prepared on-site and some of the organised weekday activities. It has been good to witness the extra activities & treats arranged during the year according to the current news and events. Thank you and well done to all the staff for keeping so professional and cheerful through recent difficult times.
My parents moved to Lavenders when my father was approaching the end of his life. The care and support for him, my mother and us were excellent. My mother settled in well and has been happy and well cared for. There seems to be very little turnover in staff which creates a consistency and feeling of familiarity which is very important.
My mother has been a resident at Lavenders for almost a year and I cannot speak highly enough of everyone that works there. Nothing is too much trouble and they go the extra mile to help. She was ill earlier in the year and they organised the local doctors to attend to and cared for her.
Words cannot express how wonderful the care and attention provided for my mum by the Lavenders. Everyone is fully engaged to make the experience second to none. The fact that the home is family-run comes through in everything provided. The staff are always prepared to go the extra mile and are so approachable. Throughout Covid, the carers went above and beyond as family couldn't visit as a result of lockdowns. Since then there has really been no change to their approach at all. Mum has been a resident at Lavenders for nearly four years. Over that time we have always been extremely happy, and the quality of care is exemplary. As a doctor myself I appreciate that providing the level of care I would wish my family to receive is the benchmark I set and the Lavenders fulfils this completely. I would recommend the Lavenders wholeheartedly and would be happy to be a resident myself when my time comes. A big thank you from me.
The care at lavenders always goes above and beyond and the extra touches and kindness is appreciated not just by my mother but by the whole family. The home is always beautifully kept and has an extremely pleasant atmosphere.
Lavenders is a clean, well-managed care home. Accommodation, lounges and grounds are very good. Food is fresh well cooked and nutritious. The staff are caring and attentive. Rooms are adequate and furnished.
My mother has resided at Lavenders since April 2021 and has found a new lease on life at the age of 93! Being able to have her own furniture in her room helped her settle in very quickly. The staff are all very personable and caring which is a comfort to us as a family. With numerous activities being laid on daily, my mother's life has been enriched and she participates in almost every activity. Lavenders are in a beautiful setting and many residents take advantage of spending time in the grounds which obviously has many health benefits. I would highly recommend Lavenders.
The home is bright, warm and clean and set within very attractive gardens. The food looks good and every contact with the housekeeping/catering staff was cheerful and accommodating. My experience with some of the care staff has been very disappointing; there were some regular care staff who came across as judgmental, inflexible, unwelcoming and who did little to hide their impatience with our mother. I am sure that this was a minority of the care staff, but nevertheless, it was noticed by myself and my sisters. When our mother became more challenging to look after, we were asked to move her to another care home, which she found distressing and disorientating at the age of 93.
