View Full Details of Alexander HouseWe as a family were devastated when my dad became very unwell and it was decided it was in his best interests regarding safety that it was agreed to admit dad to Alexander House. I cannot praise highly enough the care, kindness, patience and compassion every member of staff showed Dad. I was informed of every step of his journey and at all times his dignity was upheld. The staff went way way above to ensure Dad felt valued and cared for. Nothing was ever too much trouble in ensuring that Dad felt safe. Unfortunately, we didn't realise how short Dad's life was to become but we knew he was loved and cared for by everyone at the home.
I will be forever grateful to the wonderful staff of this care home. The care and kindness given to my husband and my family was exemplary. They gave us something we thought we would not ever have again and that was happy memories, how do you thank anyone for that kind of gift that will last our lifetimes? Thank you, to the manager and all the staff for the wonderful care you give to all residents and families.
This home is outstanding, the care and attention to my dad is amazing so attentive and they genuinely care. I can't thank them enough, for the first time in years we managed to sit down for a meal at Christmas with my dad. Such a special memory when we didn't think we'd get any new ones. All the rooms are clean and tidy. I really can't thank the team enough for putting smiles on my dad's face.
I wanted to write to you on behalf of our family to express our heartfelt thanks to you and the entire staffing team for the care you provided to Dad in the short period he was with you, before passing on Christmas Eve. You and the team went above and beyond on a regular basis and the level of care that was given was done so with a genuine depth of warmth and I know Dad was happy with you, we could not have asked for a more warm, friendly, caring and empathetic care provision for him during his time with you. In addition, the care and understanding you all displayed to myself and our family during our visits were second to none and nothing was ever too much trouble. The management and the entire staff team are a credit to themselves and to their company in the level of care they provided on a daily basis to a much-loved Husband, Dad, Dad-in-law, Grandad and Great-grandad, you should all be very proud of yourselves.
My mother-in-law came to Alexander House on 8th November 2023 and until her passing on 8th July 2024. Although in a perfect world, she would have preferred to be at her own home, she was very happy at Alexander House. She frequently said how lucky she was to be cared for by such lovely staff at a time when she was no longer able to care for herself. The staff are all very kind and caring. My daughter, baby grandson and I visited most days and were always made to feel welcome. The staff were caring and knowledgeable, and nothing was too much bother. It was comforting to know Mum was in good hands. Thank you all so much.
I have never met such a kind, caring and considerate group of people. The care my mother received during her seven month stay at Alexander House was second to none. From the moment Mum arrived there to her final difficult days and hours, I have nothing but admiration for the staff in the way they treated not only our mum but us as a family too. The whole team should be applauded and I thank them all.
As soon as we viewed Alexander House, we knew that we wanted Mum to be a resident. As someone who was fiercely independent, she was initially reluctant but soon settled with the amazing care and support she received. From the end of November until she passed earlier this month, the members of staff have gone above and beyond for Mum, and in the last stages of her life, we, as a family, do not know how we could have managed without them. No regrets about Mum being with you.
An excellent experience. Everything possible has been done for my friend. Treatment and care are well explained. Evidence of investigation of health issues. My friend is so happy is kept well and it shows that she is well looked after. My friend is so, so happy at Alexander House the staff are wonderful. Thank you.
My mother came to the home after being discharged from the hospital where her care was appalling. She had previously been in another care home which would only let us see a dining room or the garden, we never saw her room or anywhere else. Alexander House was keen for us to be shown everything. The staff are friendly caring and excellent at their job. My mother has put on weight and seems really happy. We are very pleased and happy with Alexander House.
We as a family cannot praise the staff at Alexander House enough. Although Mum's time there ended much shorter than expected, their caring, time and consideration to Mum's needs were the very best we could have hoped for. They always had time for her and kept her safe. Highly recommend.
My wife had dementia me and my family said we would never put her in a home after a fair time we could not cope 24/7 so she went into Alexander House. I used to cry myself to sleep then I realised what a wonderful place she was in the staff were amazing looked after residents way above what was required. One day a member of staff when finished shift put my wife in a wheelchair and pushed her over a mile to the seafront had seafood then pushed her all the way back. Amazing I will never forget all they did for my wife.
While my mother was in the care of Alexander House she was looked after and cared for by the fantastic staff, and was regularly checked constantly. And we couldn't have asked for better service from the staff and the home. And I could not praise the care home enough. And I would recommend Alexander House to anyone who was looking for care for their parents or relatives. They always gave you a friendly greeting when you first arrived. We were often offered snacks and refreshments.
Staff were amazing couldn't be more helpful and kind, they treated my mum with so much, kindness, patience, and dignity. I would recommend this home to anyone. The only thing that I could mention is maybe a little money could be spent on deco to update a little, this isn't a negative to the home as I would rather the money spent on caring which they supplied 24/7. Thank you to all the staff.
All the residents are very well looked after. Facilities are in every room, I move around all the time.
Everyone is lovely, happy and friendly. Not been here long, never want to go. I would miss everyone.
Alexandra House is very helpful and caring, the staff are very caring, really good care home.
Overall, very good. The staff are always very approachable and helpful as are the management from my experience and Mum has settled in well. She has been at Alexander House for over a year now and we are very happy with the care she receives there.
The most important thing for me is that I feel secure in the fact that my wife is safe, secure and well cared for by the staff at Alexander House. I try and visit once a week. I call to make an appointment to visit and when I arrive the staff are always very welcoming. I see my wife almost always in her room and I can tell from looking around she has been properly cared for. As her condition deteriorates over the months she still receives the same care and without prompting she will say how much she appreciates the support she receives from the staff. I only visit my wife in her room so can’t comment on other aspects. The parts of the building I pass through are well-maintained.
Dad has lived in this care home since 2020. He is always complimentary about the staff who he says are all very kind and friendly. Dad settled in at the home rapidly, he is included in activities and has made friends amongst the other residents. I contact Dad most days, my interactions with staff have always been friendly and professional. This has been reinforced when I have visited Dad. I am made welcome and the atmosphere in the home is friendly. Staff always have time to talk to Dad, and when they talk to me it is clear that they have engaged with him and have listened to what he has told them. Dad is well cared for and feels supported. When Dad has any health issues the family is kept informed. The standard of care provided is very high. The home is clean and tidy. Communication with the home management is open and honest.
Our friend entered the home at the beginning of Covid. She has dementia. As we were not allowed to visit we depended on emails, phone calls and for our friend calls from a friend each day. Becoming a resident is very much against your will but safety and health are a needed requirement. For her to settle it depended on the training given to staff and the care requirements they gave to residents. Time in the home proved very difficult due to the aggressive behaviour of our friend due to Alzheimer's. Over the current year with the help of the home and our input as friends has seen an improvement with her. We know she is cared for and there will always be changes required but this is helped by communication with the care team at the home.
