View Full Details of Bluebells Care HomeStaff are friendly, helpful and attentive. I have no issues with my mother's care and trust the team in looking after her.
This is not just 'a care home' - it's my mother's home. She is treated with respect, dignity and a great deal of care and love. The place is always bright and cheerful. They have an open-door policy and I always feel welcomed. All the residents have 'needs' of their own and they look happy and content. I know my mother is well looked after in their care and kept safe.
As soon as I walked through the door, I was struck by the smiling, happy, family-friendly atmosphere at the home. My mother moved in direct from a spell in hospital and every member of staff helped with this transition by treating her with deep kindness, patience and professionalism. Family and friends are welcome at any time and it soon feels like you are joining a large new family. My mother has never found it easy to socialise but is responding well to the companionship of others (both residents and staff) and very much enjoys the many and varied activities on offer. It is also a great comfort to us that she benefits from easily accessible medical attention, support and monitoring. My sister and I are delighted to have found Bluebells Care Home and couldn't imagine a better place for our dear mother to be now that she is too frail to live independently.
I came to the home on Friday 20th December, the day of the Christmas party. The Christmas atmosphere generated for the residents was fantastic. The entertainment provided for the party was first-class with some great interaction by the singer with the residents. All the residents appeared to enjoy the afternoon with each resident being made to feel special. Congratulations to the staff for putting on a special day. Thank you to you all.
Since Mum moved in two weeks ago, after spending months in hospital, she has improved so much, especially her mental capacity and recall. A big thank you to all the staff for their kindness, care and building her confidence. They have gone above and beyond to find out what makes her happy and how she is feeling. It is such a relief to know she is so well taken care of. If I were to summarise Bluebells Care Home in one word, it would be "kindness". Thank you.
A nice home with good staff and comfortable rooms. Not too noisy for residents, with different events arranged to entertain the residents. Kind and understanding staff.
My mum moved into Bluebells Care Home yesterday after a traumatic fall and hospital stay. She was ready to move into care anyway as her dementia has progressed over the last few weeks. She is settling in really well thanks to the positive, friendly and caring staff who have welcomed her with open arms and helped her find her feet.
My mother has recently moved to Bluebells Care Home. After an unexpected, complicated hospital visit, she has become more medically challenging than anticipated. Not an issue for the wonderful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. I, for one, am very grateful. 10/10.
Visited Mum on 05/06/24 as it was Mum's birthday. Staff went above and beyond to make Mum's birthday special. All the carers are brilliant. I can't fault the care home at all.
Dad was in st Martins for over 3 years. Unfortunately, he passed away very recently. Dad had been to other homes before for respite and never settled. Within days Dad settled here and respite became full-time. Over time they have adapted his care to meet his needs. The last few months for us as a family have been hard. But we have never had to worry about Dad's care. The staff have always gone above and beyond for Dad. Not only have they done this for Dad but also for us. Keeping us updated and showing us so much love and compassion. And continue to do so. The home has a wonderful team of staff that keep the residents safe, extremely well cared for and stimulated depending on their needs. The food is of a great standard, with extras offered throughout the day and night for those that want it. The home is always well-kept and clean. The atmosphere is one of love and kindness to all.
The experience of my husband - I think, must have been really normal. Just the longing to come home, but within a month, he settled and now is full of praise of his care, carers and food. For my part, I am grateful for the fantastic care of everyone at St Martins for my husband. Long may it continue.
St Martins is a very happy and well-run home. My husband is very well looked after and there are always members of staff if you need to ask a question and they will always give you an answer. All in all, St Martins is a care home that I would recommend to everybody.
All staff are so friendly and helpful. They have a good rapport with my mother. I am confident that she is being taken extremely good care of.
My mother moved into St Martins in March from her own home. I have been delighted with the care and attention she has received and have not seen her so happy for a long time. She was lonely at home, but the staff at the home are so creative, that she is active most of the day! The outdoor garden is amazing, as is the seaside lounge and all the activities they do for those with dementia, from skittles to balloon volleyball, from singing to darts (soft darts!). My mother likes to help, and the staff also involve her in day-to-day activities such as watering the plants and clearing the table, which makes her happy. Her speech has improved since going to the home, and she laughs all the time. It is a fantastic place!
Last visit to the home was to attend the opening of the new garden. Staff laid on a BBQ party and sing-along to the local choir. To see the residents singing along and enjoying the fantastic food in the fresh air was a joy. The themed "Wizard Of Oz" is expertly designed and constructed, making it a great compliment to this well-run home.
St Martins is scrupulously clean. All staff are so kind and friendly. Rooms are very nice and comfortable. The care and support are excellent. They now have a lovely new garden, which is so pretty and a nice area for patients to enjoy.
In the two months, my grandfather has been at St Martins, I have been extremely impressed with all aspects of the care he is receiving. The staff have kept me informed at all times, and have helped him adjust to the new surroundings well. At such a difficult time, it’s a great comfort knowing he is in such good hands. I’m not surprised it came highly recommended by a friend.
All-round good and very good food.
Having visited an ex-neighbour and two friends in St Martins over the years, I felt it would be suitable for my brother when he needed care. He has been a resident since May 2018 and is quite happy and content as the home has a family atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and caring and respond to any reasonable request he may have. During these trying months of the Covid pandemic, the staff have been excellent in keeping the residents safe and well. My family, and I, would like to thank them for their care and devotion to all the residents.
Our relative was admitted to St Martins 5-months ago at a very difficult time for us all. It came at a time during the complete lockdown, so we had to rely on the very competent staff to assess the needs and psychological welfare of our relative with only verbal input from us (because of the circumstances) between us. This has been done to the very best of the situation, and we know that our relative is safe and cared for. We have socially distanced visited her twice, which was acceptable, but not ideal, but so be it. The home is doing its very best. If there are any concerns or needs, we are contacted, and any requests from us are carried out, (i.e keeping her personal telephone charged, and to try and stimulate her socially with-in the home). We look forward when we can visit normally as fear of losing personal contact and family stimulation is worrying, but know it cannot be helped. Everyone is doing their very best above and beyond, and we thank them for their kindness.
