View Full Details of Greenbanks Care HomeI am very happy with the overall care of my father. He has complex needs which are met completely. In fact, the team at the home go over and above to ensure he is happy and feels cared for. When I visit, I always get looked after and can certainly feel the warmth and friendly atmosphere from all of the team. I particularly like how the place is made to feel like my dad's home.
When I first came to look at the Care Home in October 2024, the first thing I noticed was no unpleasant smells and how clean it was. The care manager told me that their staff turnover was very low and their ethos was that this was the resident's home where the carers worked. The care home was recommended to us by a friend whose mother had spent time here and they were very pleased with her care and we as a family feel lucky to have found a place for our father here. I cannot fault the care my father has had whilst being at Greenbanks Care Home, in Maidstone. The staff are very friendly, kind and caring towards their residents and are often seen doing activities to motivate and occupy them. My father had a serious seizure which left him with vascular dementia before entering the home but he always says that he cannot fault the care he has had, enjoys the food and company and is contented, which is all we ask for.
I am so pleased that my auntie is in such a fantastic home, all the staff and management are so welcoming and friendly and I am always greeted with a cup of coffee on arrival. My aunt has the best care available to her and I am updated on her wellbeing when I visit the home or by phone if needed. They have lots of activities available from puzzles to days out.
Well, it's been since April 2024 that my husband was moved into Greenbanks care home. He is still extremely happy there and tells me all the time how wonderful all the staff are, I am so grateful for everything they do for my husband, nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. There's a brilliant atmosphere with lots of laughter too, they like to keep all the residents happy, they have their best interests at heart. I'm always kept up to date regarding my husband's medication. Management is very helpful with any questions, and they are very welcoming to all visitors. Greenbanks is a wonderful care home.
Mum was reluctant to go in a home but after several falls at home and hospital trips it was the best and safest option for her. Greenbanks has a lovely atmosphere, lovely staff and is a home-from-home. Can visit anytime of day and staff make you feel very welcome. Mum is happy, looked after very well and all her needs are cared for, which in turn makes all her children happy knowing she is being looked after. Would recommend, they really do make you feel at home; residents and visitors.
After having my mum come from her own home with 4 carers a day, I am so pleased with the care that she is given now. All of her needs are being met and amazing staff. I couldn't have wished for better.
We could not feel more fortunate to have had our dad spend the end of his life in the care of Greenbanks. From the moment he arrived, until his passing, the staff could not have treated him any better. We were always welcomed during visits and staff were super proactive in involving other professionals in making sure he received the best care possible. Their links with outside agencies are exemplary. The staff are a brilliant team and the atmosphere within the building top notch. Thank you to everyone involved in caring for Dad and for the kind, considerate support that you gave us as a family.
This place is fantastic! I work in care and know this is the best place for my dad. I have experience of lots of different care settings and Greenbanks is second to none! My dad is really well cared for, he can be challenging at times but the staff handle him brilliantly. The staff are well established and nearly all have worked there for a number of years which says a lot in my eyes. The home is lovely and clean, nicely decorated and smells nice (unlike many others!). The food is of a good standard with good variety and choice. The management team are accessible and open, they make time to talk to you if you want to. Dad is not one to join in with others but other residents seem very happy. No complaints and definitely good value for money compared to other care homes in the area.
The owner and manager were encouraging and extremely friendly. On first visit, before moving my father to this facility, my mother was shown around and even shown the kitchen! The staff are always caring and friendly. The home is always clean and there is no smell of urine! They regularly have entertainment and activities, including some visits out. They encourage development and independence. My father is extremely happy with his care. He has always enjoyed a good range of food, indicating the food is good. Thank you for everything.
Greenbanks Care Home always made me very welcome when visiting my mother, it was definitely a home from home. Over the summer of 2022, they organised a minibus on two separate weeks when they took residents out for day trips, some local and others further afield. My mother who always loved an outing managed to go on trips to the seaside, local garden centres and local parks. Coffee, cake and lots of laughs seem to be the order of the day. Nearer Christmas a charity worked with the home and made some of the residents' wishes come true, my mothers being one of them. An emotional time but as a family, we are very grateful to the home for arranging it.
Our mother spent the last 6 months of her life at Greenbanks Residential Care Home. During that time she was always treated with respect and affection by all the staff. Due to their care, her mobility improved, as did her overall health and she enjoyed a summer of outings and visits. When in November her health suddenly deteriorated she chose to stay at Greenbanks rather than go to hospital. The staff at Greenbanks and the medical practice were marvellous, they ensured she had the medical attention she needed whilst staying in the place she now regarded as home. We were allowed to visit at any time and for the last week, one of her children was by her side 24 hours a day. During that time we were all impressed by the way the staff spoke to all the residents and to each other. As a family, we are all very grateful to the staff and other residents of Greenbanks for helping us to make the end of our mother's life as good as the rest of her life had been.
My mum has settled very well at Greenbanks. The staff are lovely and take very good care of her. The family are always made very welcome when we visit. We have been impressed with the amount of work being put into the building and grounds. Mum says the food is very good and has enjoyed several trips out in a minibus this month, including a day to Dymchurch.
My husband went into this home in Aug 2021. By mid-October he was referred to Psychiatric Team without my knowledge - wanted to prescribe drugs to make him more compliant in mornings. Given our marching orders in Nov 2021 - told my hubby had challenging behaviour but think I was becoming a thorn in their side! Moved to new home in Feb 2022 and within two weeks was told my husband did not have challenging behaviour! Have spoken to family of two other residents at my husband's nursing home who recently got their marching orders from Greenbanks for challenging behaviour and I know of one other who was asked to move and is now out of the area. The staff are lovely but overworked. I saw no indication of activities taking place and there is no garden to speak of - a concrete path up the side of the building. Unless you want your loved one to sit in a chair like a zombie all day then avoid this place. So grateful I was able to take my husband for walks every other day.
My mum was transferred to Greenbanks Care Home and I cannot praise the staff enough. Nothing is too much trouble and they really took the time to understand my mother and her needs, as well as really getting to know the family. If I could give them another star I honestly would. Any issues that arose they dealt with promptly and efficiently. I felt rest assured knowing they were on the case even during the pandemic which goes to show that not all heroes wear capes.
To begin with, everything was great. As soon as issues arose management did not want to know or help sort out issues. The care staff was fab, especially one of my father's carers. The food was very good too. My father was served notice, no compromise or solutions. Unless you are bed bound or immobile this home is to be avoided! If you are happy to sit and look at 4 walls with very little stimulation this is the right place. Very disappointed and also very expensive for residential care.
My neighbour has just moved to Greenbanks Care Home. She is very happy with the care and spends lots of time with other residents doing activities and going for walks. When I visit staff are friendly and always smiling.
Thoroughly recommend this lovely care home. The staff are very friendly and all provide an excellent standard of care. Both of my parents have and had a very happy time at Greenbanks Care Home both being cared for at a very high standard. I am so pleased that we chose Greenbanks Care Home and would have no hesitation in recommending them. Knowing that my parents were safe and happy is all that I could ask for.
My great aunt was admitted to Greenbanks as an emergency placement after a fall at home. I cannot fault the care and attention the staff and management gave to my aunt or to us as a family. The rooms were the cleanest that we could have asked for her and were very comfortable for us when we were allowed to visit.
Looks after my parents to a very high standard. They have been very happy here.
It was a really hard decision in choosing somewhere for Mum to move into, but we were worried that with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and living on her own it was becoming an unsafe situation. Having visited a couple of homes I have to say Greenbanks Care Home was the only one to offer Mum to come for the day to see how she got on. When a room became available it was a very relaxed and easy move. It was all arranged by Greenbanks that the GP came and saw mum and medication all sorted (such a relief after all the stress dealing with her previous GP over the last couple of years). It took a couple of weeks but Mum says she’s really happy now, got to know everyone and feels having a routine really helps her and also says the food is really great. The staff are really caring and friendly and all the family visiting say what a great choice we made in Mum going to Greenbanks. Both the owner and manager are very involved and visible and have been really reassuring and supportive.
