View Full Details of Maurice HouseMy nan was looked after with care and compassion by all staff! She loved music and being around people and the home provided her the chances to enjoy life to the end. Would highly recommend to anyone.
The love and care Mum receives from all the staff is amazing and we appreciate them all so much.
Thank you to everyone who enabled my stepmother to enjoy her 90th Birthday on Friday. Everyone made my cousin and I so welcome (as they always do). It was outstanding that we were contacted beforehand and asked what she might like for her dinner (birthday meal) and the staff came up trumps! We never worry or wonder if my stepmother is being cared for properly because we know she is. Thank you.
The staff at Maurice House did all they could to make my mum's final months as pleasant and dignified as possible.
The staff did everything they could for my husband. It is a very lovely care home, with quite a lot going on. The staff are very friendly and very acting. After my husband passed he wasn't forgotten. There was a beautiful poppy wreath for his coffin and a service of remembrance for other people who passed. A tag was given to write a message on and put on a Christmas tree and kept for a while. The home is lovely with a big garden etc. I would recommend it to all who had been in forces (like he had been for 28 years).
From my initial interaction to the end, my overwhelming feeling from everyone was that of support and care. Nothing was ever too much trouble; everyone went the extra mile to support us all, to tempt Dad with food he might enjoy, to listen to my anxieties and to support Mum to visit Dad as easily as possible. We will be forever grateful that Dad was cared for so lovingly and with such dignity to the very end, even laying him out so graciously and respectfully for Mum to be able to say goodbye. Thank you for all you do.
Firstly my brother spent his last period of life at this care home. His wife found life after his death a strain. Passing into this care home for respite couldn't keep her change back to life a secret.
From the moment we contacted Maurice House we felt heard and she helped us through a very difficult time up until both my in-laws went into care. They were even collected from home on the day and every step was dealt with compassionately and professionally. Now nearly a year on my in-laws are settled and happy and are living their lives to the full with so many activities and excursions. It seems every day there is something new for them to experience. All the staff are so caring and have deep bonds with all the residents. We couldn't be happier with our choice of care home. Our deepest thanks go to every member of staff at Maurice House and Maurice Lodge and also their dedicated team of volunteers.
I find Maurice House home from home, a very happy atmosphere throughout the home with great facilities with wonderful large grounds to wander through. The home is exceptionally clean and the food is very yummy and plentiful and a good variety and a wonderful staff that make all this happen. Thank you all.
I find the manager is kind, helpful, can't do enough to help you and the staff are very helpful. They go out of their way to help in every way. So kind and I am very pleased I have got my brother into Maurice House, it is very nice and my brother loves it there and that's all I want. Him to be happy.
My husband has received excellent care at Maurice House. The staff are caring and friendly.
Very clean and tidy, the staff are very polite to both visitors and residents. During our visit the housekeeper was cleaning the resident's hub, she was very thorough and polite when cleaning around people. The care home seems to be very professionally staffed and managed.
I can not recommend Maurice House enough. All the staff are first-class and you can tell that they all enjoy working there. You are treated to a smile from when you walk into the building until you leave. You can not pick one person who is the best as everyone is so good. Activities, food, care, rooms, facilities, cleanliness and security are second to none. Thank you!
I cannot fault this care home in any way. I am so pleased with the care my wife receives.
I have been amazed at my mother's improvement in mental and physical well-being since going to Maurice House. The well-being staff, nursing staff and management have gone over and above to be friendly and welcoming. I have been impressed at every level with this care home.
My dad has been in Maurice House for 6 years now. Started off with residential care and now has higher nursing as at 101 he needs a bit more help. From day one we have had nothing but brilliant care. Popped in today to see him and the girls could not do enough for him. They are all so lovely and caring. If we have any concerns they deal with them straight away.
Hello, I would love to say thank you for the care attention warmth and understanding given to my dad since he has lived with you, this makes me comfortable knowing he is in safe hands. Dad has been very unsettled recently due to illness and worries about moving away from the area town he knows best, but the smiley happy staff that you employ really make a difference to everyone's mental well-being. Thank you for everything.
My partner has been a resident in Maurice House for over two years. Despite his move to the care home happening during very trying times (COVID), he has always been cared for to a high standard and treated with dignity. The relaxed atmosphere in Maurice House suits his needs very well and results in him being calm and happy. I am always made to feel very welcome when visiting.
My mother has been in the home for two and a half years and we organised a meeting with the management of Maurice House to discuss our mother's financial situation. The person we met was very helpful, understood our concerns and pointed us in the right direction with regard to organising support. The home itself is clean, bright, tidy and well-maintained and the staff are caring and diligent. There are lots of activities organised if the residents are able-bodied enough to join in.
When my wife became a resident at The Lodge it was very distressing for us after 64 years married and never been apart, however, she eventually settled and started to interact with the carers. Every day I could see the excellent quality of care my wife received. The difficult times my wife experienced were outweighed by the good ones. The carers would dance, sing and watch my wife play the piano and laugh at her sense of humour. As time progressed she became incapacitated after breaking her hip. She was so distressed and confused that she had to be sedated. The final stages of her life were very serene, carers would monitor her needs periodically and treated her with dignity. Our three children and myself stayed with her day and night to the end. We were always made welcome and The Lodge became my second home. The care given by the management, carers and housekeeping is unique and priceless, they are without doubt sterling people and I am indebted to them for the care they gave my dear wife.
