View Full Details of Mont CalmMy mother-in-law has been here for nearly a year and the changes have been amazing. If you have any questions all staff seek and assist. The manager - communication is great. One of the staff deals with my mother-in-law and when she sees her, her eyes light up. There is no such thing as perfection but this care home for my mother-in-law is very close.
My mum was discharged from Hospital directly to Mont Calm due to her Alzheimer's getting worse. She stayed at Mont Calm for 8 weeks and then we moved her to a Care Home nearer to where the family live. The care and support she received at Mont Calm was good. I always found the staff to be caring, friendly and patient. She was encouraged to take part in activities. The garden, although nice, needs a little bit of brightening up and maintaining as the residents need something better to look at and sit in. Some structures and all-year-round planting need thought. The admin side of things was great and any concerns were addressed promptly. The staff were happy for me to call to see how she was getting on. The only negative feedback I can give is that the cleanliness in the dining areas was not always good. The Home needs refurbishment really as it's a bit dated.
We visit the care home and are very happy with it, a shown in my ratings.
Resident (ex-wife) is happy with all aspects of the home. All staff are particularly friendly, helpful and attentive. A shower would be very much appreciated.
This home provided temporary care for my grandmother while we found a permanent home. We had a lot of teething problems with this home, minor issues that were all rectified. We could not fault the actual care given. The team were very tight and this showed. There were a few minor concerns around Health & Safety but once raised these were rectified in a timely manner. Could do with a refurb and the garden patio area is loose and uneven, the slabs need relaying.
Staff very helpful and caring.
Very pleased with the care received by my mum at Mont Calm. The staff are very caring toward the residents and always friendly. They do their very best to ensure activities take place to keep residents occupied.

My mother has been a resident for over a year now at Mont Calm and is in an advanced state of dementia. She struggled to walk, even with a frame and was not eating well. In the time she has spent in their care, she has put on weight and is far more mobile. She is happy and contented and our visits with her are a joy. We receive regular calls with information about her and the staff and the management are always pleased to help with our questions.
The staff are very caring and have coped really well with all the COVID restrictions. I am impressed with the improvements being made at the home - it looks so much nicer. I am looking forward to being allowed into see my mum, it's been a long time. She gets very confused which can be challenging but everyone tries to help her for which I am really grateful.
The level of care that my sister and her late husband have received while being at Mont Calm has been overall excellent. The staff and management are only too willing to address any queries or incidents that may have occurred. My sister seems very happy and has settled in well. Her room is always kept clean and tidy. I am very happy with the way she has been cared for and her welfare.
My mum is being well looked after she has been fed well and cared for and looks so much better for being surrounded by people she can relate to.
My wife has been resident at Mont Calm for over 15 months. She suffers from advanced dementia, which is so acute that she has no communication ability and is doubly incontinent. She requires extensive care due to her disabilities. I have found the caring staff and management extremely helpful, caring and professional in providing these needs. They are so family orientated, loving and kind. She is always content, clean, unsoiled and healthy. I visit her daily for at least 3 hours. I have never witnessed any unprofessional activity. Indeed I have such admiration for the caring staff as they are at times subjected to both physical and verbal abuse by the occasional resident who is suffering from advanced dementia. The senior carers are magnificent and lead by example. Nothing is too much trouble or an effort for them!
My husband has lived in Mont Calm for almost 6 years. The care provided has improved enormously in that time. I visit daily and have come to appreciate not only the care but love which emanates from, particularly the senior staff. He is afforded great dignity and they are only interested in giving him the best care possible. The atmosphere is friendly and very welcoming and every effort is taken to make the visitors feel at home. Above all, the residents are loved and treated as a family.
