My mother was on end of life at The Old Rectory care home Dymchurch. The staff were amazing, throughout her stay. The day she passed away, they couldn't of been more supportive. To my mother and also to myself whilst I sat with her until the end.
My mum and dad both lived in The Old Rectory together for 3 years, my mum on her own for 1 year. My dad loved the food and his chats with the staff, he felt safe. My mum loved the company of staff and residents. She would enjoy the entertainment always joining in. It was a place she could be herself. When my mum passed away we stayed in the home with my mum for 4 days and nights. The staff were amazing they fed us and held our hands when needed. Can not thank them enough.
No complaints. The food is lovely.
My mother has only been at the home for a couple of months but she has been made very welcome and accepted right from the start. The management team are exceptional and the home is always clean. The staff are very kind and friendly and make an effort to get my mother involved in daily activities.
I came to see my great-godfather, who lives at The Old Rectory, and he was being really well looked after. It is good to see him happy and content and being looked after. Everyone seemed really nice and friendly.
After a stay in hospital, Mum had stopped mobilising and walking. With the encouragement and patience of the staff, Mum is active again. She has regained the weight that she had lost. The staff are professional and caring.
My aunt has been staying at the Old Rectory for a little while now. I visited and she was very settled and well looked after. I feel like the staff really understand what she needs and it is much better for her to be surrounded by people all the time.
My mum has lived at The Old Rectory for the past four weeks and so far I could not be happier. The Manager, from assessment, has understood my mum's needs, supporting her with the challenges moving to a care home brings. The team are so very kind, always smiling, always willing to help. As a family we are listened to and our opinions and requests promptly acted upon. This is a warm and caring facility that I would recommend to anyone looking for care.
I came to visit my uncle when I was in the area for the weekend. It was such an great trip being by the seaside again and the Old Rectory is a lovely setting. It has a wonderful charm that fits in beautifully with the area and has incredibly high standards and finishing. The staff were lovely offering drinks and seeing how we were and they seem to honestly love their job and love the other residents. I will hopefully come over again in the summer and take him out for an ice cream on the beach! All in all, it is a lovely place.
Excellent care and staff always smiling!
I am pleased with the care and cheerfulness found in The Old Rectory. My father has settled well and seems happy to be a resident. There's no place quite like your own home but this has become a good second home. I would thoroughly recommend The Old Rectory. In fact, I often do to people I meet.
It was a hard decision moving my parent into care, but after a period of adjustment, they have settled well. At The Old Rectory, the staff are excellent in providing support and care. Very pleased with the hygiene and cleanliness in the care home. Feel reassured they are being well looked after.
The Old Rectory is very nice. All of the staff are very kind and the food is very good.
I am a regular visitor to a resident in this home and on my latest visit, as always I found the staff cheerful, friendly and helpful. The resident in question had recently suffered a fall but was clearly being attended to with meticulous care. The rooms are spotless and well-equipped.
Our mum has remained in care for three years now and I would like to offer our continued support to all at the Old Rectory Care Home, and thank the entire staff for their massive effort in looking after our mum. Thank you all.
My sister was looked after for over eighteen months. She was treated very well and has since moved out to live at home again.
Moving my mother in to a care home was an extremely difficult decision. With advancing dementia, it became impossible and too risky to care for her at home. She's now been at The Old Rectory for over a year. I have total confidence in the excellent care and surroundings, with top priority given to her health and well-being. The carers are all superb, without exception. It's so reassuring that the vast majority stay at The Old Rectory for many years, meaning that residents get to know their carers well, and they, in turn, understand residents' individual needs. For relatives too, it's reassuring to speak with the carers and staff that we get to know. My mother enjoys the freshly made meals tailored specifically to her, homemade soups being a particular favourite! She has a beautiful, homely room. The staff have created a cosy, comfortable and welcoming home, always spotlessly clean. The Old Rectory is a caring, friendly community that you can trust. I'm able to visit Mum as often as I wish. I highly recommend The Old Rectory.
Highly recommend The Old Rectory. The support and care that my mum receives from all of the staff are excellent. It can be such a worrying time finding the right care home for a loved one but I knew as soon as I visited The Old Rectory (I visited several care homes) and met the management team that this was the right place for my mum. It is spotlessly clean with nice rooms, lounge and dining areas, even outside patio and garden. There is always some sort of entertainment/activities for the residents scheduled for most days. Individual requirements can be met and all of the staff are so caring and kind. My mum is 98 years old and from day one she has been very happy here, which makes me happy.
