View Full Details of Saxon Lodge Residential Home LtdI was very reluctant to put my mother in care, however staff were very kind to my mum. I would recommend the home. It was clean but a little tired in places. They could do with some material recliners that would be more comfortable for users. I imagine the funding is not there. Congratulations, the staff were very good.
My mum is very happy since being at Saxon Lodge. She has been kept clean, and everyone is nice, kind and helpful.
My father had a stay in the hospital, and coming back to Saxon Lodge, he was still very unwell, with bad mobility and confusion. The staff were so kind towards him and supported him, and with their care and dedication, his mobility returned, and the confusion faded. I was able to visit him happily and everyone was so pleased for him and the progress made. I can't thank them enough.
Mum's first experience of respite was in a large, glitzy home that resembled a budget hotel chain. My Mum labelled it 'DIY care' and we soon realised that what was needed was somewhere small and with character that got to know us (I include myself) as individuals. Saxon Lodge Residential Home renewed our faith in care homes. The owner was often present and chatted with us. The manager was professional and effective, the care plan produced (and adapted in Mum's three weeks of respite) took account of all Mum's needs and was clearly read by those delivering the care, for example warmed pads, essential to help Mum's pain, were constantly replenished. Staff were always friendly and kind and I was confident that Mum was happy there. The cook (and her food) was a delight! If I could change anything, it might be a bit of freshening up of the decor, but we had already decided that was way down our list of priorities. Not fully ensuite (basin in the room) but the loo was nearby and access was never an issue.
A most professional efficient and caring home. The staff were so kind to my mother. I couldn't have wished for a safer or more well managed residential home. My sincere thanks.
when my mother arrived at Saxon Lodge on year ago she was very ill. She has been looked after professionally and compassionately and is now in much better health. She enjoys living at Saxon Lodge and has gained some purpose in life.
Saxon Lodge Residential Home home is a family run facility which prides itself on its family environment. The staff are dedicated and caring and spear headed by a manageress who "goes the extra mile" for her staff and residents alike. The home runs like clockwork, is impeccably clean and tidy and provides good quality food and entertainment, from the relations perspectives. There is absolutely no worry as all of the residents needs, medication and social needs are catered for to the highest standards. Overall a first class establishment.
Since Mum has moved to Saxon Lodge she has been treated with great care and dignity. I no longer have to worry that she is eating as she said it is wonderful to have such lovely home cooked meals. The staff and managers are very approachable and happy to help. Mum wishes that she had gone earlier. She looks so happy and no longer has the drawn, frightened look that she used to have.
