View Full Details of Tralee Rest HomeOur mother, who has mixed dementia, moved to Tralee in May 2024, where she has settled well and is very happy. We had a bad experience at a previous home and worried we would not find somewhere that would look after her properly. When we found Tralee, we could have cried, as the contrast was like night and day. We saw the lounge, where a lively singing session was in full swing. We were then shown her room on the other side of the home. This was a cool and quiet space so, in the rare moments that she wants peace, she comes here. Most of the time, however, she is participating in many of the wide variety of daily activities. Tralee staff are very caring and have quite a soft spot for Mum which, after years of looking after her ourselves, has been a huge weight off our shoulders. I cannot thank the manager and her team enough for what they have done. To know that your vulnerable relative is being cared for so well is a great relief. Thoroughly recommended.
I have visited quite a few care homes over the years and Tralee is head and shoulders above all of the others. The manager and staff are absolutely fantastic and show a level of care and compassion that I have not seen in other homes. There is a great degree of interaction with the residents and lots of different activities to keep them stimulated. My wife and I are so pleased that Mum is being looked after at Tralee and we would like to thank the manager and staff for the wonderful work they carry out day in and day out.
Finding a suitable care home for our mother was a very difficult decision to make, however I am glad we chose Tralee. Mum is treated with compassion and respect at all times by the staff. Tralee offers a safe and secure environment, and a range of appropriate activities which Mum engages in fully.
My review starts from 17th November up to the present day from when my wife was admitted. I cannot express how much gratitude I owe this rest home. The manager and her staff are so caring and respectful, if I am ever diagnosed with dementia, which I hope never happens, this would be the one rest home I would want to be cared for in.
My mum has been at Tralee since the beginning of August, I was so impressed with the home as soon as we viewed the home, it is what it states a care home, the staff have always been fantastic. Personable and caring in every which way, The management team have become family. I know my mum is well looked after and happy, thank you all.
My Mum has been a resident of Tralee for over 4 years and she is looked after so well. There is a lovely atmosphere in the home, with lots of smiles and laughter. The home is well-run and family members are always welcomed. The residents are treated with kindness, respect and dignity. There are daily activities including singing, dancing, cooking, crafts and quizzes. Also regular visits by entertainers from outside. I couldn't be happier with the care given to Mum.
My mum was a resident at Tralee for 18 months. From the first day, I knew Mum was in the right place. Wonderful, caring and friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Very supportive of relatives. Always some form of activity going on for the residents, singing, dancing and playing games. Tralee is more than just a care home, it's more like an extension of their family. The management and staff supported me throughout Mum's stay. If you're looking for a care home for a loved one. Look no further!
The care and love shown to my mum is just amazing. They know her and understand, and anticipate her every need. The manager and deputy are friendly and professional and totally approachable. The staff are welcoming and never make me feel like I'm in the way. I'm always offered somewhere to sit with Mum and there is always a member of staff looking after all the residents. The food is always fresh and looks appetising and the drinks are served regularly. The activities lady is enthusiastic and knows what her ladies and gentlemen like to sing, play and take part in The home is clean and mum's room is immaculate. They treat everyone like their own family and I know if my mum was able to thank them, she definitely would I am a professional in adult social care and I purposefully chose this home for my mum and continue to recommend to my friends. Thank you to the manager and your team at Tralee for loving my mum the way you do.
The care is amazing. All staff look after Mum so well that we have no worries because we know she is so well cared for and loved. Mum is so happy here. There is always a fun activity to join in with if she chooses to.
We are extremely happy with Tralee - Mum has been in Tralee for over three years. The staff are wonderful and respectful to us and the residents. The management team are always at the end of a phone or available to any queries or questions you have. They provide a regular week of entertainment, the entertainment staff is brilliant with the residents getting them involved in singing songs, church visits plays and pantos. Thank you to all the team at Tralee.
When my wife had to go into care, I looked at a few homes in the area and the surrounding areas but found a lot of them new but cold and clinical and the staff was not too friendly. Tralee is the opposite, old but a nice atmosphere and the staff is caring and supportive and my wife has settled in well taking part in the multiple activities that are laid on each day.
Each and every time I visit my mum (one or two times per week) the staff are always professional, kind and helpful - to both me and my mum.
My mum has been in Tralee since 2018. I cannot fault the present staff. They are caring and take time to get to know the family as much as my mum. As Mum has gotten frailer, we have noticed how she feels safer in the familiar surroundings of Tralee. All present staff are both polite and professional. Although Mum likes her own company, she does mix with the other residents and seems to enjoy the activities that are regularly put on for residents. The current manager is highly professional and keeps us up to date on Mum's health and well-being. The manager is caring and dedicated and this is reflected in her staff. Well done to an excellent team with a great team leader.
I'm not able to provide all the ratings as I'm only a friend and not a family member and have not been involved in some of the aspects mentioned. Tralee Rest Home may not be the most luxurious care home but the level of care given is superb.
Our mum has been in Tralee for nearly two years and we couldn't be happier. Mum is most definitely part of the family, as our we! We are always made to feel welcome. Mum's needs are met and she is very well cared for. The change in management this year has been very positive and you can see the change. The manager is a wonderful nurturing person as are all the staff. You can see the positive changes taking place.
Tralee is a very well-managed care home. The staff are very motivated and really look after the residents very well. The activities are very important for the residents and they are very well coordinated. They make a major contribution to the lives of the residents. The food is also important and is really excellent. The staff look after all my needs, always with a smile on their face. The service is excellent and a credit to the management.
My mum has been in Tralee Rest Home for nearly nine months now and I cannot speak more highly of them. The staff are wonderful, cheerful, and really caring and Mum is so happy there. They have lots of regular activities, post pictures on social media and organise trips out. They are very good at communicating with family, and respond well and promptly if there are concerns. We have real peace of mind that she is in the best place possible. Thank you for all you do.
From the moment Mum was taken into respite care at the home, she has been welcomed, as we have, by the friendly and helpful manager and staff. Mum has been so well looked after and is blossoming. There's a really friendly atmosphere and much love for the residents. Mum has been enjoying lots of wonderful activities since she has been here. such as drawing, singing, dancing, baking, even blowing bubbles, and dipping feet in a paddling pool! There is a lovely outside balcony for when the weather is sunny and warm. Mum's room is lovely, with a sea view! She says the food is delicious and plentiful, and now she is looking so good in herself that we can see what she means! Visiting times are well organised and staff make sure the residents are kept safe from Covid. The staff also kindly arranged a wheelchair for us to take Mum out for a walk through the castle and tower tea gardens on a couple of occasions. Mum has been very happy during her respite time at the Tralee. Thank you.
My family has been incredibly impressed by the compassionate care given by the entire Tralee staff to my elderly brother and to every resident. They respect the wishes of each individual, but are alert to the early signs of discomfort and recognise significant changes in well-being. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are kind, cheerful and seemed always to have a welcoming smile for visiting relatives. In the absence of visits, we phone for news of my brother and are greeted with that same friendliness. When it has been necessary, communication from Tralee about him (e.g. an illness) has been given with sympathy and without fuss. We have seen on Facebook some amazingly innovative activities to sustain mental welfare in these challenging times. It is quite clear that the residents enjoy themselves, as do the staff! Credit must be given to the manager for her forward-thinking/planning and the leadership she gives to the staff in every department. Thank you, Tralee!
My brother has been at Tralee for nearly two years, and I am so pleased that we were able to get him into this home. The staff are constantly coming up with great ideas to entertain the residents, to get them participating in a number of activities including painting and cooking as well as mind games like bingo and quizzes. They also keep the residents active with some exercises and fun activities like dancing. If it is a residents birthday, there is always a cake and singing happy birthday. Other special days are recognised such as Burns Night, Halloween. The staff are happy to dress up and do quite ridiculous things to entertain the residents. What else can I say, we are just so pleased that my brother is cared for by these very special people. They have been especially great during Covid restrictions with no covid related illnesses at all.
