View Full Details of Tynwald Residential HomeStaff are excellent, all other aspects are 'good'.
We are so happy our mum is being cared for at Tynwald, all the staff are so lovely towards her and the activities she enjoys every day are amazing. She seems very happy where she is and is cared for and that's all we can ask for.
Having mum start with day care at Tynwald Residential Home was so helpful. When the time came for mum to settle into residential care she was already very familiar with her surroundings. Every time I visit I am humbled by the dedication and love and kindness shown to my lovely mum. This would be my first choice. kind staff, spotlessly clean, good food loads of activities.
I came to Tynwald to be with Mum for an afternoon of entertainment and high tea. The atmosphere was terrific with a singer and with the residents joining in. The staff are fantastic, and the food was great. I'm so pleased Mum is in this lovely home where she is so well looked after. Every time I visit, Tynwald, it's always a pleasure, because everyone is so welcoming.
My aunt came here in mid-April. She took a little time to settle in. The food is varied and nourishing. All the staff are helpful and friendly and all have empathy with the residents. Nothing is too much trouble. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and comfortable. Visitors are welcomed with meal hospitality. Many activities and entertainment. The garden is superb when I visit my aunt we sit outside with a cup of tea and biscuits and it is very relaxing. I cannot think of even one improvement that could be made. All sounds too good to be true but it surely is.
My sister was a resident in this care home for just over a year before her death. I was previously looking after my sister, but I realised I could no longer care for her and make everything in my home safe for her, hence her going into full-time care. I would highly recommend them for their care and especially their end-of-life care. Everything was done with dignity in mind. They were so kind and caring not only to my sister but myself. All the staff were very dedicated and their kindness will not be forgotten. My sister enjoyed the activities and the variety of food available, they celebrated events not just Christmas and Easter, but Wimbledon and Valentine's Day, making it fun for the residents.
Respite stay for one month. Although the building and facilities are a little 'dated', now this is more than made up for by the staff who were kind, caring, respectful and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble and this applied to visitors as well as residents. I felt my mother's health and welfare were a priority and I felt she was in a safe and caring environment. Thank you.
From the minute the door is opened for you, you feel relaxed and welcome. Greated with a smile and a welcome. All the staff welcome you, they all know where and how your relation is (Mum). They are all too pleased to help you, coffee, drinks and biscuits are always offered. What a lovely place and lovely food throughout. Thank you for everything.
A nursing home can often feel clinical and alien, not like a home at all. Tynwald is an exception to this, the warm care and energy you feel when you walk through the door is second to that only of your own family home. The staff's personality shines through at every opportunity and the thought they put into every character in the home reflects in how happy and comfortable every resident looks and feels. I wouldn't want my grandmother anywhere else.
Since my stepmum was accepted for respite care (from hospital) I cannot fault the management team. Since my very first phone call with the manager, it has been super well organised. Nothing is too much trouble (with my endless questions) and are always happy to help and advise. The staff are exceptional too and it's like a home from home. Thank you.
My whole experience with staff at Tynwald Residential Home has been excellent, from my first meeting with management, staff at the hospital to all staff at Tynwald in their day-to-day duty and tunning of the home. Every member of staff is kind and friendly and totally professional and approachable. All residents are treated with dignity and kindness as well as their families.
On behalf of my husband's week of respite. He really enjoys going to Tynwald, everyone is so cheerful and caring and he can not wait to go back for a third time.
My mother has just returned from 2 weeks of respite care at Tynwald, while we attended a wedding abroad. Everything was excellent. Communication beforehand was very professional. Staff were warm, caring and extremely positive. The food and activities were great. Above all, we felt our mother was looked after by the professionals and we were completely relaxed about leaving her in their care. Would 100% recommend Tynwald.
My mother came to Tynwald Residential Home very suddenly after the previous care home closed at short notice. She has only been there for 3 months but the care has been excellent and the staff really try to fulfil residents' wishes where possible. There are a lot of activities and the home is very nice and caring.
Tynwald Residential Home offered respite care for me. Two weeks being looked after. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and kindness shown to me. Always make time for me (whether they have it or not). We could laugh or cry - always caring for the whole person. Such good teamwork throughout. Evidence of good leadership and happy staff. And the food, well, so good. Well prepared and presented (and plenteous). Ten out of ten and deserves more!
Came in on Coronation day and it was a lovely atmosphere, the decorations were all lovely, a real effort had been made to make it a special day. Food and drinks were offered all around, a really nice lunch was provided, all staff were dressed for the occasion. Good day.
All the staff are very caring and respectful of residents. Every occasion throughout the year is celebrated, with residents involved in making decorations etc. There is a very warm atmosphere in the home and visitors always made welcome. Excellent chef and the most wonderful spread of buffet food for the coronation on the 6th of May. Every effort made by staff to make it a memorable and special day for all.
Everyone, whatever their role, was always so kind. Mum enjoyed all of the activities: visiting singers and musicians, bingo, arts and crafts and when she was well enough, going out for trips. If there was an occasion, it was celebrated! Mum always said that her meals were lovely, such a compliment given that she was a professional cook for most of her working life. She loved having her nails painted and the last time these were done she chose blue! Up to her major stroke in March 2023, she had almost three very happy years at Tynwald Residential Home.
The best facility that I cold have wished for my aunt to spend the later part of her life in. A very relaxed and stimulating atmosphere for the residents to be surrounded by and part of.
Lovely clean home. Excellent and very friendly staff. He is so sorry he has to leave. God bless all in the home.
