View Full Details of Fort Horsted Nursing HomeMy sister arrived at Fort Horsted after a traumatic and lengthy time in hospital. She has now been in the home for two years. I cannot thank the staff enough for all their kindness and care and for providing a calm and caring environment. Whenever we visit there is always a friendly greeting and welcome, and my sister is well cared for. Her being in Fort Horsted has taken away the stress and worry for me in knowing she is safe and being looked after.
When I first entered the home, I wasn't particularly happy with the initial look of her room. It has 2 beds in it and was very dated. However, I was reassured that it would be highly unlikely mum would have to share the room. As time went by, I realised that the care mum has been receiving had been so wonderful and kind it doesn't matter about the decor! (the home is actually in the process of redecoration) All the staff are very friendly and caring, always asking how I am as well as caring for my mum. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.
My father has been at Fort Horsted since the 1st of June 2024. He gets the very best treatment and care. All the staff with no exceptions are caring, and professional and all go the extra mile to look after my 93-year-old father who has Parkinson. The care doesn't stop there it continues to myself and mother and we are truly thankful in this difficult time.
My husband was at For Horsted Nursing Home for 12 days until he passed away. He was looked after by the staff with compassion and kindness this was also extended to our family, nothing was too much trouble, and the family were offered drinks and refreshments.
I have often visited my friend at this place. She is always clean and is always well cared for. The staff are always polite even though my friend can be very unpleasant. The staff go above and beyond to make things better even if my friend is ungrateful. I think they have a very difficult task but I want to use this chance to have them acknowledged and thanked.
Mum died 6th April 2023, she was well cared for in her last days of life and kept out of pain. Would recommend this home to anyone, such friendly, helpful staff and kept informed at all times. Chose this home after another closed and Dad was here in 2016, nothing has changed, still very good. Daughter of deceased mother, rest in peace, thanks.
Our nan has been in Fort Horsted Nursing Home for a couple of years now and we couldn't thank the staff enough for the care she receives. We are always welcomed with a smile. Nothing makes us happier than when we walk in to see her sitting in the lounge smiling away and having a laugh with the staff. It has a very homely feel and the staff work together brilliantly! Our nan is quite a character, to say the least, and they have just accepted her for who she is! Thank you everyone at Fort Hortsted.
Despite it's seclusion and unknown presence I have found this home to be a breath of fresh air. The staff are genuine and when visiting they take the time to ask after me whilst feeding back about how my father is. I have heard them caring for other residents and know they apply their attention to detail across the board. I feel assured that my father is in the right place and receiving the right level of care.
It was a very hard decision to put my dad into a care home, however even on being shown around I felt that this was a place we could call home for him (unlike other care homes). Dads needs are complex and he is bed ridden with dementia and renal failure, but the staff always treat him with dignity, respect, fondness and genuine care. Dad has been at Fort Horsted now for ten months and as a family we could not have asked for a better place for him to live. The staff are friendly, kind, mindful and supportive. They always seem to make time even if it is to help us get a cup of tea for ourselves. They all seems to be truly genuine and compassionate about the residents. Fort Horsted really do put the care into care home. Thank you with all sincerity, for what you do.
