View Full Details of Hawthorn ManorMy aunt has been a resident here since 2019 and is very happy. She feels very much at home and the staff know her well. I am kept informed by the care staff who respond quickly if something needs attention. The care staff are very good and have my aunt's welfare as a priority. My aunt is treated with respect and I am sure she is in the right care facility.
A very homely place with amazing staff, my dear dad was only here from the end of June until October- but the care was excellent. The staff are all lovely, they were very fond of my dad and enjoyed the banter with him. I can happily recommend hawthorn manor to anyone. The only downside was not having a lift just a stairlift.
Hawthorn Manor is a lovely care home, bright and colourful and with a happy atmosphere that you can sense as you walk through the door. The staff really do try hard to make the residents feel included in everything. The home has a varied range of activities for the residents and they are encouraged to be as independent as possible. The staff care for people with compassion, understanding and patience. Equally as important is the fact that I am always kept informed of what is happening, in the home as well as to my mother and I trust them implicitly to notify me if they have any concerns, no matter how small. I feel that her care is a partnership between myself and the staff, which gives me great peace of mind.
A home that has carers that actually really care. 90% of the staff here really strive to go above and beyond for the residents and will bend over backwards to keep the residents happy. They get to know them well and try to treat them all as individuals. In particular, the activities staff really make an effort to find what the residents are interested in and tailor the activities around that. Generally nothing is ever too much trouble and they will try to find a way to please residents and families. The only downside is when they have to use agency staff as they are nowhere near as attentive and knowledgeable as the permanent staff.
