View Full Details of Yew Tree LodgeI would not hesitate to recommend this care home. My father receives excellent care from skilled people who like, respect and understand him. He has a spacious, well appointed room which is always clean and welcoming. The home is decorated nicely and has homely touches which add to the friendly relaxing atmosphere. The food is very good and there are always refreshments available. The staff are very responsive and approachable and they are always keen to help and to go the extra mile. In terms of activities, there is always something going on, from trips out, to arts and crafts and visits including lovely therapy dogs. There are regular parties and always a special mention on residents birthdays. The photo board shows that each person is valued and included. My father is happy at Yew Tree Lodge and feels comfortable to be himself because he feels at home here.
I regard this care home as an excellent 'hotel.' I have a very nice room to retire to. The staff are friendly and helpful. I have a room with a large cupboard for my clothes, and a big set of drawers for magazines and some clothes. I am in short, a "happy old man."
We visit my sister often and are always happy with the way we are treated, my sister is always well looked after and she looks much healthier now.
The home looks after my mum in a very professional and caring way. The staff are well trained and caring. Any issues are dealt with immediately, and I cannot recommend them more. Where the home fails is the condition of the bathrooms and toilets. Although they are very clean, they are old and worn out. They desperately need an overhaul. The staff already fundraise as much as they can, but the owner needs to step up and make this home the best it can be.
My experience of Yew Tree Lodge as the daughter or a resident who went in just before Covid hit and lockdown happened, my dad was loved and cherished by the staff when I wasn't allowed to see him. They nursed him back to health so many times over the years, but when it was close to Dad's passing, I couldn't have asked for more care, respect and dignity shown to my dad and his family.
My mum has been at Yew Tree Lodge for six months now, going into care at a difficult time; staff worked really hard to make her welcome. Her room was redecorated for her, and she has her own w/c and sitting area. We were encouraged to bring as much of her own things in as she would want to help her feel at home. She has found it hard to settle in, but that is more to do with her needs than the home, and she is getting there with help from staff and family.
My mum is very happy and comfortable here. The carers/staff are so friendly and helpful. There is a great feel of welcoming and closeness in the home, like one big family. Feel really reassured that Mum is in the best place for her needs/support.
I am very pleased with the way staff care at this residents home; it's a happy place.
My aunt lived at Yew Tree Lodge for 4 years, but sadly passed away on 30th December 2018. She had dementia which progressively got worse during that time. I visited her regularly and on each visit, I found she was well cared for, always clean and well dressed and the staff always added little touches like jewellery and painted nails. She appeared happy in her own world and the staff always fed her with appetising food even when she had problems swallowing. The staff were very caring and friendly and worked so hard, sometimes under difficult situations. There were a few that went the extra mile and made her years there as happy as they could. It was sad to see dementia take over but I know she couldn't have been in a better place.
I visited this home on 12th April 2019 in my capacity as an Independent DOLS Best Interests Assessor. I visit many care homes in the course of my work. I was impressed with the informal and relaxed atmosphere at Yew Tree Lodge and helpfulness of the staff. The 2 residents I visited were well cared for and safe. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone considering it.
Yew Tree Lodge is such a special home. The wonderful staff looked after our special Auntie and took the pain away from her being held in a home. It was a home, though her new home, where she would be loved and cared for. They supply lots of special parties, they make sure the clients are dressed nicely, have their nails painted, hair done and fresh food daily. Those who visit get offered a cup of tea. And we don't have to worry at all if she is looked after. Thank you to all of you for looking after Auntie.
My uncle has always been very well cared for at Yew Tree Lodge. The staff are very caring and often go beyond what they are required to do. There are always activities for the residents. All the residents seem very happy in their environment. The staff always seem to have time to talk to relatives.
My Dad is not always happy with his dinners (taste and content).
My mother stayed at Yew Tree Lodge until she became very poorly and had to go into palliative care. During the time my mother stayed at Yew Tree Lodge the level of care she received was of a very high standard. All staff were always polite and very professional and the management team were always very helpful and approachable. My mother passed away on July 16th 2015. As sad as it was I will always be very grateful that the final months were at Yew Tree Lodge.
