View Full Details of Marston CourtA very elderly neighbour/friend who we have known for many years, approximately 40 years, was recently admitted to Marston Court, following a fall and an admission to hospital. Having visited Marston Court on many occasions prior to and since her admission, we have always been very impressed with the loving, thoughtful, kind and outstanding care. The staff are very patient and do their very best to listen, observe and meet the needs of the residents. There is a lovely open space where a variety of activities take place, including a gentle exercise class for those who wish to attend, also musical activities etc. Last year we attended a very special live musical event in the garden, which included a display of owls. Heartfelt thanks to all of you for your wonderful care.
Marston Court is a well-organised care home with caring staff that do their utmost to make residents feel at home. My elderly friend has just moved in and the staff have been immediately attentive to her needs enabling recovery after a hospital stay. It is a relaxed environment with light rooms and plenty of social spaces. Residents are split into 4 households each with their own lounge-dining room that creates a more homely feel. Residents also have access to the wide range of activities available in the day centre space. Music, exercise sessions and social activities are available daily. I am very impressed with the organisation around medical needs which has lifted a burden from family and carers making it easier for us to spend relaxed time with my friend. There are always plenty of staff on duty visibly responding to the residents' needs. It is easy to communicate with the manager and deputy manager who have been present and helpful even over the Christmas holiday period.
Mum has been a resident at Marston Court for 3 years now and although some staff have moved on in that time generally I have found standards of care to be excellent. Mum is well looked after emotionally and physically, staff chat with Mum and to the family and anything we ask for is usually provided and any concerns are addressed. There are various activities provided for residents and the food is excellent. Overall, I am very happy with Mum's care. I always feel welcome to come and visit Mum at any time.
What an incredible place. I arrived under strained circumstances with a friend who was not sure that he really wanted to be there. Within 2 minutes of him getting out of the car a member of staff appeared (on her break) and started a conversation. Within 30 minutes my friend was walking in with respectful and kind staff all around him. Not one member of staff judged us. They showed nothing but love and understanding. The atmosphere inside was one of fun, laughter and enjoyment. Everyone around us seemed to be happy and looked at ease. I appeared later that night and wondered if I would see another side. I needn't have worried. Staff and clients were pottering around and the whole place seemed calm and content. When I called the care home the same bubbly atmosphere came down the line - the lovely lady that answered knew all about the gentleman I was calling about. I was given an update without her having to go and ask anyone else. I love this place and believe that my friend is now happy and safe.
My mother had a short but wonderful time. During her stay, the staff at Marston Court went above and beyond normal service to entertain, support and care for Mum. Every member of staff was great. I would recommend this care home to everyone.
My mother was a resident for 5 years and experienced a very positive and caring time at Marston Court. Mum had Alzheimer's and became very anxious for her last few years of life. Previous to this she had experienced the wide-ranging offers of activities and groups put on by the home. She loved all the activities and was able to shine as an individual in certain groups. Mum felt well cared for and I experienced this care when visiting. She was happy and comfortable. During Covid, Marston Court made many activities available online and through online video calls, as well as supporting us by organising chats over another video calling service. These chats made a huge difference and allowed us to maintain better contact than the phone would have allowed. I shall always be grateful to Marston Court for making Mum's later years as happy as they could have been! Thank you.
My relative recently died after five years of dedicated care at Marston Court. I have been able to visit and join in the life of the home - the book group, residents’ meetings, activities, special occasions etc. I have always been welcomed with a smile and a greeting. My strong impression is of a happy, busy and professional establishment.
My mother, who lived at Marston Court for over 5 years, was in decline as a result of Alzheimer’s and the general frailty of very old age. The care, sensitivity and love she received was such a support to her and to all the family as we tried to cope with the inevitable. This quality of care was entirely consistent with our experience over the time Mum has lived at Marston Court. We are so happy she spent the last years of her life there.
All staff I have dealt with seem very helpful and kind. I've seen this on either my real visits but also on phone calls or video calls. The staff take time and care, which is appreciated. Thank you very much.
Very friendly and welcoming staff, always happy to help. The staff treat my friend and the other residents with respect. They are always professional. The common areas are clean and tidy, warm and welcoming. She is a relatively new resident, she is settling in well, and slowly making her room more like her own, with the encouragement of the staff/ team there.
The staff are welcoming, friendly and kind to visitors and residents. The environment is clean, and well cared for with a homely atmosphere. I would recommend this as a care home for family or friends.
My friend has been a resident for a short time and the staff have transformed her life in so many ways. The staff are kind, caring and compassionate and nothing is too much trouble for them. My only suggestion would be to improve the environment by adding en-suite bathrooms.
One of my friends has been living at Marston Court care home since before Christmas. I was present when she was assessed by the Home Manager and Admin Assistant. I was very impressed by the assessment and was extremely pleased when she was accepted as a permanent resident. I can see a huge improvement in her since her admission. The good work has carried on. I visit on a regular basis, I find the staff to be very friendly, welcoming and extremely professional. She was very unsettled at first, but they have coped very well with her care needs. She is now so settled and no longer asking to go home. I’m impressed with the activities that I’ve seen going on. My friend was an A and E nurse giving great care and it’s so nice that this care is being returned to her. I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to all the staff looking after her, I can remember a few names that I recall. Make your good work continue.
The staff have and are looking after my mother so very well. I cannot complain at all. Carers and day activity organisers are amazing. Not only have the staff looked after my mother they have looked after her family too.
Since my husband's entry to Marston Court eight weeks ago, we have been touched by the high degree of personal care, kindness and energy from the carers to the residents. We are also relieved and happy with the quality of activities in their day centre (scooter races included!). The management team runs this stalkingly clean home like a big family, filling it with so much kindness and care that it has made settling in for my husband faster than expected. Thank you!
The staff are always welcoming when we visit. They often offer us tea or coffee. My mother-in-law always looks well cared for, and her room is always clean and tidy. Staff are quick to spot if she is less well than usual and haven't hesitated to call in the GP. Staff persevered in getting her involved in activities but also acknowledged her need for time on her own.
When Mum first moved in, she did not show her best self (she was angry about coming here). Initially, she was hostile towards others; however, the staff worked really hard to manage her behaviour, and with their perseverance and hard work, she settled in. With the staff's care and support, Mum is much happier. Thank you.
Could not fault anything in the home, excellent.
My wife began her permanent stay in Marston Court on 25th July 2023. She is settled in the new home nicely. She looks well and shows no signs of unhappiness because I think the building is beautiful, always very clean, warm and cost, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The management and all staff are always friendly, helpful and caring.
My father-in-law settled in really quickly which I feel is largely due to the friendliness of the staff, nothing is too much trouble for them, for residents and visitors. They are very professional and caring.
