All good.
My mother has lived at Newland for approximately two months. From arriving, she has been looked after in an exemplary fashion. Nothing has been too much trouble, the manager and all the staff are fantastic, so welcoming and caring. My brother and I spent Christmas Day there, everything was beautifully arranged for the residents and visitors. It was lovely to be with Mum. Nothing was too much trouble for the excellent staff on duty. They are all lovely, such a good team.
We didn't want Dad to go into a home but are so pleased that we found Newland House. All of the staff go above and beyond to give the best possible care. The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic with entertainment provided even for Dad who is bedridden. There is always a friendly welcome and the staff are never too busy to stop and chat about any concerns. Dad is happy, safe and well cared for. Cannot thank everyone enough. So thank you!
The care that my dad gets is fantastic. All the carers understand Dad's needs. His communication is not good, but they all know what he wants/needs. It certainly means we can relax knowing he is taken care of so well.
My mum has been here for just over 2 years now and is progressively getting worse, but the staff here are so caring and supportive to her in every way. I can't fault them. They are all very friendly towards me too, making me feel very welcome. I am kept up to date on every single thing to do with my mum. They have lots of family/friends events throughout the year which are enjoyed by the residents enjoying themselves. It's so reassuring to know my mum is getting the proper care she needs.
After making a very difficult decision to place Mum into a care home, we felt relieved to know she was being left in Newland House, where all the staff are caring and considerate to the residents and their individual needs.
My wife whose medical problem prevents her from writing wanted to do a review herself, she has been a resident at Newland House since last January. She has a deteriorating dementia which prevents her from re-learning to walk or stand since she sustained a hip fracture last November. She also has an indwelling urinary catheter and is faecally incontinent. I can not speak too highly of the high quality, loving and patient care shown to her by all staff members in fulfilling her needs, both physically and mentally. There is a warm and friendly ambience at the home and as much freedom as possible is given to residents to live their lives as they wish, for their visitors, to see them without restriction and always receiving a warm welcome from the staff.
I chose Newland House because it is a home rather than an institution, not perfect but welcoming and relaxed. I am really happy in the knowledge that my husband is being so well cared for.
My family and I would like to thank all of the staff for their excellent care they provided in my father's later years. He passed away last week and the palliative care given to him was outstanding. I would recommend this lovely wonderful care home to families that potentially are looking for placements for a loved one to end their final years. I was a registered general nurse and witnessed the highest quality of care possible.
This is a special thank you to the team at Newland House, Witney, for exceptional ongoing care for my mother, who had to go into care in her early 90s. I am particularly impressed with the staff’s follow-up with the hospital when she had to go to A and E, checking on when she was likely to go back to Newland House, keeping in contact with me to make sure we all knew what was going on, and then making subsequent adjustments to meet her needs (that hospital bed will make things so much more comfortable for her).
It has been a difficult decision to come to, to admit that I was not able to care for my husband. Having visited other homes the moment I entered Newland House the warm, friendly atmosphere helped me to make the decision that this was the right thing to do. The staff are so helpful, nothing seems too much for them to do. They know when to laugh with the residents and when they need comfort. This has been so important to my husband and to me. I can't rate this home highly enough - I think at least ten stars. Thank you for all your care to him and me. It has been a long journey but we have got there.
Lovely place the food is excellent. The attention they give all the residents is amazing my mum is very happy, safe and smiling. Not too big with a cosy family feel. I show everyone the food pictures and we all agree we would like to retire here. Thanks for all you do
It was very hard as a family to accept we couldn't care for our mum properly anymore and the guilt we felt for placing her in a care home was immense. Our minds were immediately put at ease as Mum settled in and was so happy from day one. The staff are just lovely, caring and fun. Always a smile. The food they receive is just amazing and creative and very tasty. They have regular activities and visits, and people coming in to sing to them. The residents love to dance with the help from the staff. It's so lovely, I'm tempted to move in myself.
It's a heartbreaking decision when you need to choose a care setting for a family member. From the moment we stepped into the home, Newland House Care Home, and were greeted by the manager we knew it was the right place. Every member of staff that we have met has been kind, friendly and made us all feel welcome and one staff member said "we are your second family now". The chef makes the most delicious meals and we all feel incredibly lucky! Thank you everyone.
My experience at Newland House Care Home has been none other than amazing. The care manager went out of her way to find out about my husband's physical, personal and emotional needs. His reception on arrival was fantastic, with individual members of staff welcoming him using his Christian name while introducing themselves. I feel that Newland House has a heart and really cares about the health and welfare of its residents. This was perfectly summed up when I was told 'to regard Newland House as your second family'!
Newland House have been excellent in the care towards my grandad. It was a big change for my grandad and our family and the staff have been understanding and supportive. Everyone we have met has been friendly and the room he is staying in has been great with nice views outside. He has also been really enjoying the food. Thank you everyone!
From the first contact, through the settling in phase and ongoing, the thoughtful, kindness of all the staff to my mother and to us, her family, has been lovely. I really appreciate the considerate care with which my mother is treated, not just by the care staff but by everyone. The home is small enough to have a family feel but has everything she needs. On a practical level, the home is well run, very well maintained and always has lots of interesting activities going on. Staff seem happy, mum eats better than she has for years and very much enjoys the garden where there is always something for her to look at.
Used Newland House for respite and could not thank everyone enough for the care and attention they have given to our mother during her one-week stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend Newland House to anyone. Please keep up the good work.
I am very grateful to Newland House for the excellent care they provided to my father in the last months of his life. He was treated with great care, patience, compassion and respect during a very challenging time. I chose Newland House for its atmosphere of professional and practical kindness. The staff work very hard indeed, but they do so with great humour and considerable personal insight. There is a genuine, unrehearsed warmth contained in the building that you sense on every single visit. I would recommend Newland House to any family without any hesitation whatsoever.
My dear mum was cared for at Newlands until January 2022. We knew when we visited for the first time that the atmosphere was special - it was a calm and welcoming environment with a very homely feel. The staff were kind and patient and the residents were happy and settled. We were always impressed with the level of activities planned, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the variety of freshly made meals. We were so lucky to have found Newlands, and would not hesitate in recommending it.
