Sadly just a brief couple of months in Woking Homes with a short period of 'end of life care' at the end. As family, we always felt that my mother was happy, safe and very well looked after. The rooms and facilities are excellent. The staff are caring and attentive and always kept the family informed and involved. We were always welcomed when visiting and the administration staff were extremely helpful.
My brother came to Woking Homes on 8th July 2024. he has been well looked after by all the staff, especially with attention to his medication. Having come from his own home in North Wales, he found it strange, hopefully over the coming months he will settle in. Thank you for helping with the transition.
Both my parents moved in November 21 but sadly my father passed quite soon after. My mother has remained in the home and is very happy there, although grieving. All her needs are met including trips to the gp which is a godsend and she really enjoys the in house hairdresser which gives her a lift. She also enjoys the food.
Good standard of care provided. The staff are very caring. The food and activities are good. Sadly. as with most care homes, things go missing! We have lost glasses and a wedding ring, sadly, but the home has made an effort to try and find these items. Generally very happy with my mum here.
My brother had been in three other nursing/care homes before arriving at Woking Homes a year ago. It is easily the best. The staff really care about their residents and are always keeping relatives fully informed. They arrange all hospital, dentist, etc, visits and happily take residents to appointments.
Mum, who is the widow of a train driver, moved to Woking Homes in August 2023 after a spell in hospital and then in a respite care home. The staff at Woking Homes were welcoming and caring to all her needs and continued to support her admirably. As an only child, I now feel most relieved that Mum is so well cared for. The carers inform me about any medical issues to do with Mum. They also maintain a good sense of humour and fun with the residents and, in spite of what must be a difficult job, are always polite and cheerful with residents and visitors. The food is excellent and plentiful (the chef is fantastic!). Also, thank you to the hairdresser who brightens up Mum's Thursdays. Thank you all so much.
The staff are always welcoming and able to handle most of the problems that arise. Family are always informed of the resident's status and needs. Food is excellent and plentiful and all are cooked onsite.
Excellent care, staff and food. Everyone at Woking Homes greets you with a friendly warm welcome. I cannot say anything bad about this care home. My mum is happy! Safe and well looked after.
My father was a resident at Woking Homes for seven years, until January 2023. We chose Woking Homes due to the care displayed by staff on visiting the home. It was a warm and inviting home and I knew instinctively we'd chosen the right place for Dad. It has a good mix of male/female residents. The staff were kind, courteous, caring and professional. They always kept me informed of his welfare and included me in his care plan. Dad was exceptionally well-cared for by the staff at Woking Homes. They supported him and worked with external therapists to improve his mobility issues. The home provided entertainment activities and external day trips out which Dad joined on many occasions. I joined him at Christmas and summer parties which were lots of fun. Staff would often pop into Dad's room for a chat which he really enjoyed. They even visited him several times when he was moved into a hospice. They were very kind to me too. I have no hesitation in recommending Woking Homes.
A warm and friendly home in general, and the staff are on the whole very nice.
A caring and professional care home with attention to detail with a railway bias.
From June to October, my husband has been extremely well looked after by the team at Woking Homes. The care was excellent from his personal daily care to his involvement in the community there. All his daily needs were catered for, his nutrition to entertainment. He was supported with his mobility and encouraged on every occasion to circulate as much as possible. He was able to come home at weekends and also enjoyed partaking in the entertainment activities provided.
My father has been a resident at Woking Homes for two and a half years and has been well cared for. He has been in hospital twice this month and has received extra attention when coming back. The care home has coped admirably during the Covid-19 pandemic which makes us as a family extremely relieved. My father really enjoys the food that is served and likes all the staff and other residents. Thank you very much for looking after and caring for our father.
We managed to get Mum into the home three days before the first lockdown in March 2020. Despite Mum suffering from dementia, being moved into strange surroundings and then not being able to see her family for the next 3.5 months, due to Covid restrictions, Mum settled into her new home/routine very well. I believe this was due to the excellent care that she received. The whole Covid situation has been very difficult for us as a family, with the general family not being able to visit, but I have been able to maintain visits throughout, even though behind a screen with no physical contact. The staff have always been very, very good and appear to be genuinely caring towards Mum. Her medical side is excellent, with us being informed of every issue as and when it occurs and with regular updates about Mum's overall health and wellbeing. I would thoroughly recommend Woking Homes to anyone thinking of placing a loved one into care. Keep up the good work.
My mother developed dementia at quite a fast rate. We had been mulling over her needs and my husband came across Woking Homes. This was early March 2020 and she moved in just 3 days prior to national lockdown, so we’ve only known the home to be in a time of a pandemic. They’ve handled everything brilliantly and from the little I’ve seen of my mother, I can tell she is well looked after and well-fed. The staff are amazing and always friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
The leaders and staff always phone to let you know if the need for a GP or Dentist is required. During this month we were called as the behaviour of the guest wasn’t the same and so they decided to get some tests done. They asked first and then called to say it was an infection - had they not cared or noticed then the infection would have got worse. Also, they take care of all the visits to the GP or Dentist etc and you don’t have to worry. This home and its management are excellent. It is a very special place. They have a cinema room Saturdays and also Sunday mass on the TV also daily entertainment.
My mother has been a resident of Woking Homes for the last five years and I am extremely grateful for the excellent care that she has received throughout this time, despite her advancing dementia. The staff are extremely professional and well trained, as well as being wonderfully caring and patient. She has a lovely room and the facilities and food are excellent. The staff communicate very well with me and are very supportive of the residents' families. 10 out of 10.
Having visited several care homes before deciding on Woking Homes, I can say this home is the best by a long way. The ratings below indicate this. Management and staff cannot be faulted and the meals are five-star quality. My mother is very happy here. Well done and thanks.
I have been a resident for the past 4 months. I have always been treated in a most courteous manner by all the management and staff. Most of the other residents are very friendly and have made my stay a very pleasant one and also cured my loneliness. The various activities provided give considerable entertainment and are well attended by the residents.
Nan was placed at Woking Homes for 2 weeks respite but with the support from the staff she settled in and now lives there permanently. When we visit nan as a family, the staff are very welcoming and even give extra attention to Nan's great-granddaughter, who is two!
