View Full Details of Hendford Nursing HomeMy friend was at the Home for over a year & died 15/2/25. I was her friend & visited her on a fairly regular basis over her occupation. I always found the staff very caring & helpful at all times. She had a nice room to herself with a TV, that overlooked the Home's gardens.
My Mother has been a resident at Hendford care home for many months. She has advanced Dementia amongst other diagnoses. Throughout her stay, right from the start, all the staff have been so attentive to her every need Their attention to detail to her care is outstanding in my opinion. The staff have taken their time to get to know Mum and her little idiosyncrasies and her likes and dislikes which helps to provide a very individual type of care. The staff have also been very supportive to us all as a family and we as a family are very grateful to all the staff for all of the above
Great care for Mum especially at end of life. Brilliant, attentive and professional staff. Mums room was kept clean and tidy and she was always well cared for. Regular checks on a Monday by the G.P. were reassuring and any ailments were treated in a timely fashion..
We are very happy with the excellent care provided by Hendford Nurses and Carers. My husband is very happy and content and I note residents are all treated with such care and respect. Routines are established to suit people's needs. I should have no reservations in recommending Hendford Nursing Home being considered for a loved one suffering from Dementia. We are confident in the care being provided by kind and caring staff.
I would like to thank everyone for the wonderful care that you gave to my mum over the last five and a half years. You made me feel so welcome every time I visited. It is a very clean and well kept care home. I appreciate everything that was done for mum.
I really like this home. The staff are really friendly to residents and their families. They are all very efficient and when providing personal care they maintain my husband's dignity. My husband likes them, which makes it easier for me to accept he needs to be in the home. I would recommend this home.
My aunt has been in the nursing home since July 2024, where the care has been very good and she has settled in well. The care my aunt has received since she arrived in the nursing home has been of a very high standard and no complaints over the treatment she has received. I have found the staff very helpful and friendly and have a lot of patience in dealing with my aunt.
My 90-year-old husband spent the last seven months of his life in this calm, welcoming, comfortable environment where hi every need was met with sensitivity and supportive care of a very high quality. I spent half of every day with him and have had the privilege of observing and benefitting from the quality of care provided by the carers and management. My husband's carers were alert to him as an individual. They were patient, kind and warm-hearted. When I thanked them, they would reply with a smile, "It's my job" or "I treat our patients as if they were my parents" and they do. It was wonderfully reassuring to hear and see. I am so very grateful for all the care Hendford Nursing Home has given me and my husband. Thank you all so much.
My father was in the home for eight years, and the care he received was fantastic, and the staff were so friendly and caring. My family could not have wished for a better home. They were very professional and kept me up to date with his care and any changes made.
My aunt was very well looked after and cared for during the 2 1/2 years she was in Hendford Nursing Home, even when her health was obviously declining. She was always clean and tidy, hair washed and brushed, skin intact and a good colour and obviously moisturised, lips not dry and chapped. The nursing home always kept us fully and promptly informed if there were any concerns or problems. We have no complaints and were pleased and happy with the care provided.
All staff are kind and friendly. My husband is well cared for he always looks clean, shaved and has fresh clothes on. The staff are very attentive and aware of my husband's needs and make him as comfortable as possible. The staff keep us informed of any changes to my husband's health and the premises are always very clean. There is a rule that only two people can visit at any one time we would really like it if sometimes three people could visit so we can all be together.
My overall thoughts about Hendford House, is that I wouldn't want my sister to be anywhere else. She is well cared for. The staff could not be more kind or more caring. I feel that in her own world, that's due to advanced dementia, I can't get to, she is happy. The home is clean and well maintained and despite that the patients are dementia sufferers, with all the problems related to that, it is always clean and fresh. That takes work and it is done. There are things that I can't give an opinion on, as I am not there at mealtimes and I don't pay the bill but, whatever it is, it is worth the money.
Every level of care and safety is exceptional, far between my expectations. The quality and loving care of the nurses are very obvious. My husband is content, which gives me peace of mind. Thank you.
The love and care given to our mum, who sadly passed away recently were fantastic. Hendford staff loved Mum as we did, understood her humour and quirky ways and treated her with respect ensuring her dignity was paramount. We would not hesitate to recommend this amazing nursing home to anyone looking for a home for their loved one. Our Mum has vascular dementia, Hendford ensuring her needs were met and treated her with kindness ensuring her wellbeing was first and foremost. We are indebted to the staff who always kept us informed with Mums health. Thank you, Hendford staff, you helped both Mum and us through this difficult time.
My lovely mum Mary has been looked after in this wonderful home for a few years now. She is 97 years old! The staff are both professional and caring and are long-standing staff members which says it all. Mum is treated respectfully and her dignity Is maintained at all times. The staff know my mum really well and know how to keep her happy. The home is really well kept in all areas and it is always a pleasure to visit. My mum is safe there and well looked after. I can’t praise Hendford enough.
The ambience of the home always seems relaxed and cheerful, but the staff are also prompt and uncomplaining in offering assistance. My mother is, sadly, not very responsive or positive in her current state, but they appear not to let this affect them. The food is reliable but (I believe) reasonably varied. The surroundings are reasonably spacious and well-equipped and there is easy access to a decent garden. A general sense of unforced competence is engendered.
My mum was in her nursing home for just over a year. The staff were all very kind to her and looked after her very well. Her room was very comfortable, with an ensuite shower room and a television. She had a lovely view over the very pretty garden. While Mum was there, I got to know all the staff very well. I was impressed with how long they had all been there and how experienced the staff were. My mum was very happy there. (Mum died on 1st January 2020.)
My mum received nothing but love, care and attention during her 16-month resident at Hendford. All staff cared for the residents, even when things got tough. The food always looked appetising and nutritious. Nothing but praise.
My father was admitted to Hendford Nursing Home at the beginning of the year. It was an extremely anxious time for him and the rest of the family. From the very beginning, the staff have been excellent at keeping us all informed. The attention to detail was excellent. For example, they gave us ideas of how to make the transition a smooth one, an audio tape of our voices, email messages from his family to be read out to him on his arrival. He is in a lovely light airy room looking out onto the calm and tranquil green gardens, the daffodils are n bloom now. Dad is now putting on weight, he loves the food here. In his lucid moments, he tells us how happy he is at Hendford Nursing Home. It is a relief to see dad calm, happy, warm and loved. Thank you to all the caring staff.
My wife has been resident at this nursing home since June 2017 and we cannot fault it in any way. We have been pleasantly surprised with everything.
