View Full Details of Kettlewell House Care HomeAll the staff and support team are great, informative and helpful. My Grandmother's health and demeanor improved with weeks of becoming a resident. My Grandmother seems happy to live there both my mother and I appreciate the care which has been given.
My wife has dementia and came to the home eighteen months ago. She is settled and content. All her needs are fully met. The staff are always happy and nothing is too much trouble. I have stayed to have the occasional meal with my wife. The food is freshly cooked and of excellent quality.
The staff are always friendly when we arrive and Dad is well groomed, relaxed, and content. Last month the home did a magnificent job helping us celebrate Dad's 100th birthday. It is comforting to know that Dad is so well looked after - indeed he is so content that he is gaining weight.
We are delighted that we chose Kettlewell to look after our mother and our father in their last years. The care they received was outstanding and could not be bettered. The staff were warm, caring, and hard-working and were genuinely concerned about their welfare. Kettlewell was a very welcoming place and they were always willing to host family visits at all times of the day. The staff felt like a team and real family and on behalf of our parents, we would like to thank Kettlewell for the care they received.
The staff and management have supported Mum and our whole family through the toughest time of our lives and we feel ever in gratitude to them. I would not want Mum anywhere else. Mum feels safe and loved there.
The care given at Kettlewell House is amazing there. All so kind to Mum and without them I don't know what we'd do. They make Mum feel so at home and safe. I cannot praise them enough!
My wife has been at Kettlewell for a few months with Alzheimer’s. This is my first experience in a nursing residential care home. I can't rate this with anything in my life but the care and attention my wife is getting is beyond any kind of care I could give her myself. The staff go all out to look after all the residents with a smile, a cup of tea and a chat. I can’t thank you all enough.
My mother is very well cared for and happy living in Kettlewell House. She has a nice, clean and bright room with a comfy chair and TV. The staff are kind and understanding, and the home has a lovely, homely and welcoming feel. There are lots of activities and regular singers organised throughout the year, and in the summertime, she really enjoys sitting in the large, well-tended garden. I think the home is very well managed, and I would highly recommend Kettlewell House to anyone looking for a friendly and caring home for their loved one.
The care seems to be good, from what I can tell when I visit. The staff seem happy. I like the integration of the family days at Christmas and in the summer it is a lovely time to see your loved one who cannot communicate but enjoys the gathering.
My mum was a resident at Kettlewell House and had been since May 2021. Very sadly Mum passed away on the 12th of December, but from the moment she became a resident to the time she passed away, the manager and staff at Kettlewell have been nothing short of excellent. As it is a small home, everyone knows the residents and gets to know their little ways. They all have such a great rapport with everyone, including the relatives. Mum received the best care she could have done and the manager and staff were incredibly patient and were excellent communicators. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this home.
I cannot praise this care home enough. Without them I would not manage to give my nan the care that she needs. When I go and visit the staff and management are always so welcoming to me and my family. My nan always looks clean and smart and I know she gets fantastic care. The home feels very homely and a lot of effort goes into making sure the residents feel at home too. I am truly grateful.
Kettlewell House is a welcoming, happy ‘home from home’ with delicious food and very high standards. From the moment Mum became a resident, the manager and all her lovely, dedicated team have supported her with dignity, patience and kindness. The care she receives is outstanding. Although she has advanced dementia, she is always included and part of things. She is clean and comfortable, has settled in well, and she is happy. As Mum’s family, we are always made to feel welcome and joining you all at the recent Christmas party was such fun! It is a difficult decision choosing the right care home for your loved one, so knowing Mum is in safe hands here with you at Kettlewell House is such a relief.
I cannot express how grateful I am to the staff at Kettlewell Nursing Home for the care, respect, hugs, laughter and kisses that they give to Mom. Knowing that my Mom is safe and well looked after has taken the weight off my shoulders. I tend to pop in unexpected and have only seen my mom being treated with care and respect. Thanking the manager to the cleaners and everyone in between for looking after Mom with such kindness.
My 92 year old father has been a resident at Kettlewell House since June 2023. The staff are lovely and treat Dad with respect. Personally I love all the staff as they are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Dad's bedroom is always left tidy. No request is too small. The food is amazing as I also have a meal when I visit Dad twice a week. Their care for Dad has taken a huge weight of my shoulders and I'm very grateful.
So pleased with the care my husband is getting and all the entertainment and stimulation he is getting. Also grateful for how they look after me and other visitors. His room is a little small but is very well looked after. We are kept up to date with his medication and any problems. Much as I would like him at home he is getting much more care there and I feel quite confident leaving him in their care.
Overall, a hugely positive experience (as always) and my aunt appears to be extremely happy and comments on all of the activities she is engaged in and the fact that anything she requires is provided to her. All of the staff go out of their way in caring for my aunt and I couldn't ask for more. The ability to use the outdoor area when weather permits is a fantastic bonus and my aunt loves spending time there. The inter-generational music and external shopping trips also add a lot to the experience and quality of life there for my aunt. The willingness to customise care needs based on the individual is also welcomed and is helping my aunt to operate to her full potential.
My son is the youngest resident in the care home. I have found the whole staff extremely kind and caring and very attentive to my son. He is happy and well looked after and very much enjoys the gardening which he does regularly. The home has regular events which my son participates in and very much enjoys them. I am happy because my son is happy and being well looked after.
My mother has now been a resident in Kettlewell House for a little over three years. Throughout that whole period, Mum has been extremely well looked after both in day-to-day care and recreational activities. There have also been periods of illness, including Covid where the nursing team have been super professional in nursing her back to health. During April she did suffer from Covid, a chest infection, a bowel infection on top of two suspected TIA episodes, all this at ninety-six and is being successfully nursed back to better health. The nursing team have kept me informed of Mum's progress and have also, needed on one or two occasions, to successfully chase up delays with NHS doctor's services as well as carefully going through medical records in order to make the best-informed diagnoses. The carer team have also shown how patient, good-humoured and diligent they are when needing to feed Mum and carry out other personal help.
On the day when I visited, there was a local singer who came and sang songs from the early sixties for the residents and they really enjoyed it. The music must have evoked many dormant, happy memories in the residents and some joined in too.
Dad continues to receive excellent care here. It’s reassuring to see he is as content as he can be and so well looked after. He enjoys the weekly church service and other activities. He enjoys the excellent meals too.
