My mother is a resident at Oakleigh. She is very happy there and is well cared for. The staff are always friendly and professional and the home is always clean and well presented. A lot of effort is put into providing activities for the residents and there is a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.
The first few weeks for the carer who has to put their relative into a care home is a tough, emotional rollercoaster. The staff at Oakleigh were excellent at "holding-my-hand" during those initial weeks. When I visit my mum, the staff make me feel very welcome and at ease. I really feel they know and meet my mum's individual needs.
Oakleigh in my opinion is a great Care Hime it is welcoming, homely and spotlessly clean. Whenever I visit my mum has care staff with her or in sight, and I have no worries regarding her health and wellbeing living here. Food always looks delicious, staff are dedicated.
My dad had been at Oakleigh from July 2023 until November 2024 where he sadly passed away but he was so happy at Oakleigh and the staff loved him. My dad absolutely loved the staff and I can only say that the respect they showed him made me proud. They treated him so well and he loved it there. It seems sad to me that I will not be going there every week now but I can say that they deserve a very high ranking with care homes as experience has shown that they are not all the same and Oakleigh must be rated high.
All staff have treated my nan with nothing but dignity, kindness and amazing care. The home manager is brilliant and as with all the staff always helpful and keeps me updated with Nan's health and needs couldn't ask for a better place. my grandad was also here and his end-of-life care was impeccable as a family made it as easy for us to be with him whenever we wanted.
After 6 weeks at Oakleigh, we took the difficult decision to move mum to another care home in the area. We didn't feel her needs were being fully met and there didn't seem to be a willingness to take on board and act on concerns we raised.
I have been visiting Oakleigh Care Home for a few years now visiting my gran who lives there. I am always so happy to see how well she is looked after, all the staff at Oakleigh are always so supportive and helpful. Especially one staff member in particular who is always smiling and goes above and beyond. And another who is always extremely helpful and professional. Thank you Oakleigh.
My sister and l have visited our brother at the care home and are very impressed with the care your staff give to the residents there. I cannot recommend this home more, they are so kind and caring, always ask if we would like tea or coffee when we visit, have lots of kind words and are always there to talk through the care he is receiving. Thank you all so much.
My mother has been a resident at Oakleigh for just over two years. I visit normally twice a week. The property is always clean and welcoming, and the staff are always focused and delightful, clearly liked by my mother and affording first-class support. I have recent experience with two other care/nursing homes in the area, and Oakleigh is by far the superior facility.
Oakleigh Care Home was able, at very short notice, to provide emergency respite care for two weeks for my mother. They made her feel welcome and looked after her really well. All the staff are helpful, polite and smiley. They do a range of activities for all abilities. I was always made to feel welcome when I visited the home.
My brother has been a resident in Oakleigh since July 2023 and we have found the staff very friendly and caring and happy to discuss and resolve any queries. We are very pleased that we found Oakleigh and would definitely recommend this care home to anyone in the same circumstances.
This care home is fantastic. The care, patience, and never-ending interest in all the residents regardless of the different challenges they all provide, as shown by all the staff in every position I find just astonishing. My father has been a resident for 6 months now and I have not had one single doubt in all that time that luckily I found the best care home for him. There always are events to keep the weeks from becoming dull, the recent annual fete was so well organised and carried off. Hats off to Oakleigh and everyone working there, it really is a quite amazing place.
My husband has been with Oakleigh for 16 months now with Dementia. My experience has been really good. They always take the time to talk to you. My husband is always in a good state, bathed regularly, and his clothes and bedding are always clean. No smells anywhere. His floor is cleaned everywhere daily. The food always looks lovely. He is happy generally, and if he isn't, they speak to me and arrange outside help regarding his medication if necessary.
Visited my friend on the 16th of May, 2023. Warm, homely atmosphere. Very caring and supportive staff, as always. My friend is very comfortable there and well cared for.
I visit my brother most weeks, and he is very happy and well looked after. All the staff are very helpful, and the place is very clean and tidy.
My dad was 102 in January and had a great day thanks to the care of the staff of Treetops, who decorated the dining room for the family to use in the afternoon and couldn't do enough for us. Dad ate a fresh mango for the first time, with help and had so much fun. Dad is very happy here. The staff are lovely, caring, and kind, and he looks at them as friends. He enjoys the activities and says the food is very good. Dad was living independently until he was 101 when a series of falls meant he couldn't cope in his home any more. It is such a relief to the family that he is so well cared for and happy at Oakleigh.
Having looked after my sister (with dementia) for the past three years, I wanted some respite and reluctantly looked around care homes. I chose Oakleigh for the feeling I got looking around, of being a warm and caring environment - not clinical and regimented. The staff appeared relaxed and friendly. Each floor had an open, homely feel. My sister stayed for ten nights, and an individual care plan was used, keeping to her general routine. She came away just as happy as she went in. So back home, it was like she'd never been away, and no settling back in was needed. I look forward to my next respite - with absolutely no worry about my sister.
I came to Oakleigh because I was unable to care for myself at home due to very bad falls ending up with a brain bleed. After several months in various hospitals, I arrived for residential care. I have been very happy in Oakleigh because I feel safe and secure.
My mother moved from her own home into Oakleigh when she could no longer be left at home alone. She was very agitated and unhappy. Having looked after her myself for a number of years, I was very nervous about the transition and whether Mum would settle. The staff at Oakleigh Care Home were supportive of myself and have been amazing with my mother. She is so calm, appears happy whenever I take her out and is well looked after. The atmosphere is in the home is happy; everyone greets you with a smile - staff and residents alike! This is also one of the few homes I have visited which doesn’t have an unpleasant smell. It is open plan, fresh, and clean. As someone in a previous review commented, the residents wander from room to room and unit to unit, but no one seems to mind. This is excellent for my mother as she is very mobile, and is not one to want to sit in a circle watching television for very long. The staff also do their best to entertain, plus they have visiting performers.
It was difficult for us to move Mum into a care home, but the staff at Oakleigh were wonderful. Unfortunately, Mum's health deteriorated after a couple of months, but I was able to stay every day and night with her in her last week. The support and care that my brother also received was wonderful, which made Mum's passing so much easier for us all. Again, I can't say "thank you" enough to everyone at Oakleigh and have no hesitation in recommending them. They are all worth a million dollars!
