View Full Details of Ridgegate Residential HomeRespite care for mum went well and provided opportunity for a much needed break. All staff were helpful and courteous and mum was happy with her experience. She was able to get her hair done whilst there and made friends with many of the residents. Thanks for taking care of her!
Since admission in September 2024 the staff have been nothing but professional, caring and respectful, towards the care of my relative. They have no problem with visitors turning up at the home at any time, and also being accompanied by family pets.
Dad has been in Ridgegate Residential Home since September last year. The staff and management are very friendly and helpful and I feel confident that my dad is receiving a very good level of care. I can tell that he is happy and settled there and I would not hesitate in recommending Ridgegate to anyone.
Mum has received excellent care and support from all the Ridgegate Residential Home team including her GP, hairdresser and the in-house activities. The home is kept to a high standard of freshness and cleanliness. Mum especially enjoys the food menu and really looks forward to meal times and home made treats. They respect Mum's choices and treat her with dignity. She feels safe.
My wife has been in Ridgegate for approximately for 2 years She initially arrived for respite care and then progressed to become a resident. She suffered from Lewy body dementia which affects her memory and physical movement. She is well looked after and seems to be very happy as much as you can tell. She interacts with the staff at all levels. and is known for his smiles. She is encouraged to take part in activities with some success. I was in Ridgegate myself for 4 weeks after 5 weeks in East Surrey Hospital. I was well looked after and cared for by the dedicated and management team.
My good friend and mother-in-law has been a resident of Ridgegate these past two years. She has Lewy Bodies Dementia, a condition that requires 24/7 hands-on care. I visited Ridgegate with my sister-in-law around two years ago when the family were investigating and assessing care homes for her. Our impression of Ridgegate itself along with our impression of the management and care staff left us with a very easy decision for mother-in-law's future care and well-being. I could write endlessly on my good opinions regarding everything about Ridgegate but will précis it all with the following. "Imagine everything you would ever want in every aspect of care and the well-being of your loved ones. Ridgegate Home with its carers and management staff would tick all of your boxes and more." I cannot thank you all enough.
Ridgegate was home for my mother-in-law for nearly four years, and during that time she was exceptionally well looked after. We have only the highest praise for the staff who care for all the residents. The warmth and compassion shown to my mother-in-law was remarkable. The staff kind, thoughtful and very caring in their desire to meet her every need. They built a very strong relationship with my mother-in-law, and they made her feel safe and secure. We always felt that they knew her as a person, not just another resident. As family members we all felt very at home there when visiting - the management team do a great job in choosing a team of very dedicated staff. The activities and entertainment were always very good with huge effort going into marking special events - birthdays, Christmas etc, which is testament to the commitment of the staff. We have no hesitation in recommending Ridgegate, and feel very grateful that this was where we chose for my mother-in-law to be.
My mother received respite care on a number of occasions at Ridgegate. She always had a happy stay and was well looked after. The home was chosen after my grandad had been looked after 2 years prior.
Mum has lived at Ridgegate for a number of years and it is where she feels comfortable, it's home. Her care needs have recently become more complex and these changes have been met with compassion, dignity and patience. Many of the staff have formed strong attachments to Mum, she is genuinely loved as well as receiving expert care. This is particularly important to me as I live in a different part of the country and need to know she has a safe harbour. Lovely building and gardens, a good range of activities, careful and considered nutrition, extremely clean, kind and attentive staff, and clear communication pathways with the care team and management. The best place for Mum.
Mum originally was admitted into Ridgegate as an emergency admission five years ago due to intermittent bouts of illness, the home had been recommended to us as a family. At a time when we were all very worried about our mum's health Ridgegate provided a safe place for her to stay as well as providing the care she required at the time. We knew from the very first time we stepped into Ridgegate what a special place it was and still is, the management and staff are extremely kind, compassionate and caring, you could see why it was called 'A Home with a Heart'. The Manager, Deputy and senior care team were always approachable, professional and transparent and each time we visited Mum we were greeted and treated like old friends. Over the five years, Mum stayed at Ridgegate many times for respite, each time we experienced the same level of care and kindness. I would not hesitate in recommending Ridgegate to anyone.
I have always found the staff and management at Ridgegate to be very friendly and helpful in caring for my friend who is not always the easiest person to deal with. Members of management have at times gone out of their way to assist with matters which are not strictly their responsibility. I feel quite confident that my friend is receiving a very good level of care and is certainly much happier now they are at Ridgegate than when they were alone at home previously with carers visiting. There is a very homely atmosphere, and I have been told by my friend the food is good and that the chef is happy to prepare food to suit residents' requirements. There are regular activities, an excellent hairdresser, and a very pleasant garden room and garden.
I can't praise the staff highly enough for their kindness and diligence, especially when my mother was in the last few weeks of life. She lived at Ridgegate from 2019 and always said how happy she was there. They organised entertainment, quizzes, and garden parties - which we all enjoyed attending too. She made new friends. I could rest assured that she was in safe hands, such a relief when you hear of others' poor experiences of elderly care elsewhere. It was home for Mum.
My wife's sister came into your residence first for rest care for a 6 week period but when she got back to her small flat she wanted to be back at Ridgegate House because she missed all of the staff and residents who she could talk because she was lonely so after talking to the office who were great it was arranged for her to move in last September. She was able to take her own bed and other items to make her feel at home which she does. The staff look after her and she is very happy there and when we visit we are greeted with respect and always asked if we would like a coffee and a biscuit. She has only been there a short time but she is so very happy and thanks to all of you who do such a great job.
My mother has been in Ridgegate Home for approximately 10 years and has always been given the best care possible. The staff are always friendly and accommodating and my mother has been very well looked after. Any time there has been an issue with her health, Ridgegate have immediately assessed and taken care of the situation. If a hospital visit has been needed, the home have immediately taken care of my mother and arranged such a visit. When the COVID rules were put in place during COVID they were adhered to in the most professional way too. I can say that I would not want my mother to be in any other facility than Ridgegate and I know she feels the same. The management and carers always do a wonderful job in making the residents feel comfortable and always celebrate holidays with decorations and food to match the occasion. The entertainment given to the residents is always fun and the atmosphere there is very good. I highly recommend Ridgegate Home to any families with loved ones.
My Nan was offered Ridgegate House back in February 2023 after being told that the care home she was in was closing. My first impression of Ridgegate was how homely it was. It is very much a home-from-home environment and the transition for my nan was hassle-free. She has settled in really well and the care and attention that she receives is amazing. The Christmas party and the Summer garden party are put together with a huge amount of effort by all of the staff. They go above and beyond. I wish we could've found it sooner. Would thoroughly recommend it.
Overall the staff are friendly and accommodating. The staff treat the residents with respect and care, and tailor their treatment to individual needs wherever possible. Relatives are listened to. The privacy of residents is maintained. The facilities are clean and the rooms are kept warm. The gardens are well-kept and make for an attractive place for visitors.
Mum has been at Ridgegate for several years and has always been happy and well looked after. Staff are very attentive to her needs especially now that she suffers from dementia and can be quite confused.
Mum has been in Ridgegate for 4 years and we are very pleased with the standard of care, the attitude and attentiveness of the staff and the general homely atmosphere. Mum feels safe and cared for and we are very grateful that staff are always ready to help with even the little but important things and talk to me about how she is getting on e.g. medication, food intake and whether she can take part in the many activities that the Home puts on. After a dicey two years at home where Mum became increasingly unable to care for herself, I was very relieved and grateful to find a place where I can visit anytime and feel mum's in good hands.
My mum originally went into Ridgegate in May 2023 for respite due to having several hospital stays for falls. The whole family were welcomed in and Mum was very happy. All of the staff were extremely caring towards Mum and my family. They kept me informed about Mum. I was fortunate that the home was local to me, so I could visit a lot. Whenever I or my children went, we were always met by a smile and a hello. Mum made some lovely friends with the other residents. Sadly Mum passed away in December. The staff could not have done more to help keep Mum in her room/at home through this difficult period rather than going into the hospital. They were supportive and kind and looked after my mum and my family until the end. Ridgegate is a very special place with special caring staff.
Staff have been approachable and cooperative, are helpful and professional. Food is always well presented and residents who require assistance with meals are given the time required to be able to enjoy their meal at a pace that is right for them. Ridgegate is a warm and homely environment that reflects on the residents and gives visitors a pleasurable experience visiting the home.
