View Full Details of Ridgway CourtMy mother entered and has been cared for by Ridgeway Court residential care for 14 years, at first she had a very amenable nature and was very polite to the staff but sadly this changed and she was a very angry person.. this being said the staff was wonderful. Mum was cared for as well if not better than we could have managed ourselves. They have wonderful varied hot meals, the cook is excellent and all staff were exceptional, extremely welcoming and hospitable celebrating all of her birthdays not lest her 100th and 101st birthdays with elaborate cakes sadly she passed just 5 weeks shy of her 102nd. They became a part of our family unit. It is sad to say goodbye now that Mum has passed away, we highly recommend Ridgeway Court when considering a place for your loved one when the time comes to need care.
Thank you for all the kindness and care you gave my husband when he stayed with you for a week of respite care. It's not easy for him to stay with you because of his Parkinsons he is resistant to change! You all welcomed him back having remembered him from a previous stay with you. Thank you again for your care & understanding. I would happily leave him with you whenever I am unable to look after him.
Only in July, I wrote a review of Ridgway Court which had been so welcoming to my mother. Since then she had a wonderful 96th birthday party, with all the residents gathered for a birthday tea, with a splendid cake and joined by family and friends, it was a genuinely lovely occasion which she really enjoyed. Sadly, in August she died, peacefully in her sleep. The staff were absolutely magnificent, keeping us fully informed and supporting us at all stages. The manager and her team then helped us with the necessary tasks, provided us with the information requested, and eased the whole process. Our family was so comforted that our mother's last months were happy, secure, and content, and we have no regrets at all about her time in the care of Ridgway Court. She had a long and fulfilled life well lived, and it ended in the best possible way it could have done, peacefully, quietly, and securely in the care around her. We cannot recommend Ridgway Court and its wonderful staff more highly.
My father moved to Ridgway Court in January following a number of weeks in hospital. As a family we instantly saw the care and professionalism of the home. From the very start the manager and assistant manager took personal ownership of our dad's care and we have seen him go from strength to strength. The home has such a positive and friendly atmosphere Dad has settled in so well and could not be happier. To see him as he is now is a testament to the Wey Valley Society and all the staff at Ridgway Court. On behalf of my family a very sincere thank you for all you have done for Dad.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all staff at Ridgway Court for the wonderful 2 week 'holiday' my mum had with you in August. She thoroughly enjoyed her respite stay and is looking forward to returning. The staff were wonderful with Mum, the food was excellent, (as she told us many times!) and she thoroughly enjoyed the company and activities, especially the canal boat trip. She has also stated that if the time comes where she would need to move into a care home Ridgway Court is the one for her! Family visited Mum during her stay and were made very welcome by staff. Thank you all from the family.
I just wanted to thank all the staff at Ridgway Court for being so welcoming and friendly to my mother, who made the decision herself to move to a care home. It was a difficult decision for her, she has always been a very independent person. Living alone was, however, becoming a chore. She was worrying constantly about her house, which was getting her down, and being alone was also an issue. My sister and I visited a couple of times a week, but then the rest of the time she was lonely. Since moving to Ridgway Court, she has become much more active and alert and is back to her old self, full of chat and enjoying life once again. She greatly enjoys the company of others and the activities and outings. We, as visitors, are always welcomed to sit in her room or the conservatory. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful, always a smile and time for a chat. I am sure the move will give my mum more happy years to enjoy. Thank you all at Ridgway Court.
From day one my mother has been so happy at Ridgway Court, despite in previous years being determined that she would 'never go to a home'. The carers are absolutely wonderful, and nothing is too much trouble - they are so kind, they feel like my friends too! I chose Ridgway Court because it immediately felt like a true home to me, not pretentious or sterile, yet well organised and most competently run. And it smells like a proper home, of home-cooked food - soap- fresh air! I was also really pleased she could bring so many of her own things - being allowed to hang pictures all around her room has made it feel as if it is actually the same home she has always had. For me personally just knowing that people are looking after her through her various day-to-day crises is such an immense relief; it's only with hindsight that I realise how much of a toll it was for me being on-demand 24/7 at a distance of 30 miles. And for my mother - well she isn't lonely any more. Enough said!
Thank you and huge virtual hugs to all your brilliant team. Mum is really content, happy and enjoying being with you. Every day myself and my sisters discover more delights, whether it's that mum had an arty afternoon in the sunny cherry red dining room, sitting reading on the terrace overlooking the well-kept garden, and today I heard that she has the joy of spending time with two dogs that one of the managers brings in. The only thing that would make her happier is to have dad there. So we are now exploring what we never thought we'd consider. Thank you so much you are giving mum the best of care and us total peace of mind now and in the future knowing that we have another option if our trial of live-in care is challenging. Even if the care company are great and the thought of us having mum and dad home to worry about is a concern. Please pass on our total gratitude to the caring team, the kitchen team, the cleaning team and the management. You are doing a truly amazing job.
I cannot recommend Ridgway Court enough. My mum moved in last week after a long and arduous stay in hospital. I'm navigating the process and can hand on heart say that every single professional I've spoken to at Ridgway from Marketing, Management, and all the care staff within this wonderful organisation have all been welcoming, informative, and above all else friendly. My mum is happier than she has been in a very long time and I feel massively part of the process. I would say to anyone stepping into the care sector for a loved one, have a look around and speak to these special individuals. You will be comforted and reassured. Recommend 100%
Staff really friendly and helpful and the residents seem to share a very active environment. Really good to see my father's friend enjoying life to the best of his ability and his family are very grateful to all the staff within the home.
My mother has been at Ridgway Court for 3 years now, during which time she has required a great deal of physical and emotional support. The staff constantly adapt to her needs and are a great support for me. I feel that she is well cared for in a small, friendly environment. During this Covid year, the team at Ridgway Court have made sure that I could visit my mother several times a week, either outdoors, or in the visiting pod. I am very grateful to the staff for all their efforts at this extremely difficult time.
My mother has been a resident at Ridgway Court for some three and a half years. She is very happy and content in the gentle environment created by the wonderful staff at Ridgway Court. I cannot fault the way my mother has been looked after, especially during these disturbing and worrying Covid 19 times. The manager, nursing staff, carers, cooks and ancillary staff all take responsibility and are always ensuring that the residents are happy and their needs are taken care of. As a daughter of a resident, I have always been listened to and all my requests have been acted on. A simple entertainments programme provides a change of scene for everyone once or twice a week. During the summer, the residents were able to get outside into the garden if they wished and enjoy the sunshine with a cup of coffee/tea and biscuits - my mother loves to sit outside, so this suits her fine. I would thoroughly recommend Ridgway Court and Abbeyfield Wey Valley to anyone thinking of long term residential care.
My father has been a resident of Ridgway Court for just over a year. The staff are cheerful and welcoming and he settled well. Ridgway Court provides a homely atmosphere and the many activities, entertainment and outings pre-Covid were greatly enjoyed. During lockdown, the staff have worked tirelessly to ensure the residents are safe and have allowed us to visit from a distance in the garden. They have also put on imaginative entertainment in the gardens. The caring and hard-working staff are a credit to this home.
My uncle has spent the last two months or so at Ridgway Court. In that time, he has settled in very well. Ridgway has a wonderfully warm and friendly feeling and the staff are tireless in their care, treating everyone with great dignity. The balance of residents and staff works very well together and there is a real sense of family between them with a lot of fun and laughter. The Christmas period was very special, many times I visited, I found everyone singing carols or old favourite songs. It is often very difficult when a relative has to go into care, but everyone at Ridgway has made this time as easy as possible. I would recommend them to anyone.
I feel that my father is very well cared for indeed, and that all the staff are very caring, very friendly, and entirely accommodating in every way. They all seem natural carers, and they are invariably well informed about my father's particular needs. It must take special people, to do all that they do, and to always remain cheerful, which I think is a very important factor. The staff never seem to complain, although there must be plenty that they could complain about, and they have natural instincts for what is best for my father, both physically and mentally. The home is always very clean, and nice and light everywhere. As visitors, we are always made very welcome, which also makes a big difference.
Mum is happy in the care home, which offers a caring and courteous atmosphere. Residents are respected and their opinions listened to, and there is a lot of interaction and conversation between the care team and residents on an informal basis, not just when care tasks are being carried out.
