View Full Details of Shannon CourtShannon Court is a warm and welcoming place with a dedicated and caring team. The staff go above and beyond to support residents, treating them with kindness, patience, and respect. The management team is fantastic - always approachable, communicative, and genuinely invested in the well-being of both residents and their families. The facilities are well-maintained, clean, and comfortable, creating a homely and secure environment. There's a great variety of activities to keep residents engaged, and the meals are well-prepared and enjoyable. While it wasn't the right long-term fit in this instance, I'm truly grateful for the care and effort provided. I would highly recommend Shannon Court to families looking for a professional, compassionate, and supportive home for their loved ones.
Shannon Court took my father at short notice - although we had already visited last year as potential for my father when the need arose. The Shannon Court team went above and beyond when we needed help, during the Christmas period. The team are very kind and caring, and my father has remarked repeatedly on how lovely the team of carers are. Everyone is friendly, positive, and enormously supportive at a particularly difficult time for the family and my father. The food is great and plenty of it. Shannon Court has a lovely fresh and bright, welcoming feel to it.
My Nan has been at Shannon Court a few months now and it's given her a new lease of life. She's happy, well cared for and enjoying making friends and getting involved with all the trips and activities. It's so nice to see her being so well taken care of so she can concentrate on enjoying life. The home is set in lovely grounds and everyone is so welcoming, we love spending time with her there.
Visiting my nan is always such a good time. She is so happy in the home and has made so many friends. I've seen first hand how amazing the carers are with her - they've taken the time to introduce themselves to us as family members too. It is always a clean and happy environment. There are lots of great activities for the residents, which my nan enjoys doing! Great facilities too with tea and coffee/hot chocolate available for visitors. Cosy living rooms so everyone in the family can join in too! Would definitely recommend Shannon Court!
I think it is a super place. The people, residents and staff are wonderful. We have lots of things to do, music, films and outings. Great fun. The management team are very good, excellent. Like living on my own, it's very lovely.
Mum was admitted as an emergency respite to Shannon Court in May 2024 before deciding to stay permanently at the home. All the staff have been wonderful in helping her to settle in, nothing has been too much trouble. It has taken a few weeks for her to settle but she is now loving what Shannon has to offer. She has made new friends and enjoys the activities, doing things she wouldn't have had the chance to enjoy living at home alone. Her room is lovely and looks out onto the grounds, she enjoys going for a walk around the grounds or sitting out weather permitting. The community team who visit the home has also been amazing. Thank you, the manager and all your team at Shannon for all you do for Mum.
My mum has been in the home for a few months now and she is very happy there. There are activities arranged for each day if people want to get involved. The gardens of the home are lovely and well kept and have some lovely walks around the grounds. The staff are very friendly and caring towards residents and visitors. If you are looking for a Care Home for a loved one, I would recommend Shannon Court.
Mum became unable to live alone safely and as we already knew them, we approached Shannon Court to see if it were feasible for her to move there. The management was helpful, professional and sympathetic throughout the whole process, and Mum moved in a week later. She took a while to settle in after such a big upheaval in her life, but the staff have been fantastic, and having now been there for well over a year, she has made many friends amongst both the staff and other residents. The District Nurse service partners brilliantly with Shannon Court's care team to provide Mum with the best care she has ever had. She is now happy and feels totally at home, eats and sleeps well, joins in with many organised activities, is safe, and approaches each day with such enthusiasm that she has become an inspiration to many. As a family, we are immensely grateful to all at Shannon Court for giving Mum a wonderful place to live and us the peace of mind to know she is in the best possible place.
The ethos of this Home is that it is my Dad's home and the staff definitely all follow this through. We, as visitors, always feel very welcome and at home there too and nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff. The management are excellent and have been so helpful and the whole team are definitely led from the top in the very best way. Any queries or emails are answered clearly and promptly. The grounds and gardens are beautiful for the residents to sit in and take in the sunny days too. Thank you for all you are all doing for my Dad in the Dementia Wing.
My mum was at Shannon Court for approximately eleven months. Thanks to all the lovely staff there Mum was able to live out her last days in the cocoon of warmth, kindness and dignity. I am in Australia but communicated every day with her while she was there. She would tell me what she had for breakfast, lunch and supper. I'd know when she'd asked for a cup of tea, had a bath or her nails and hair done. She told me about Max - the beautiful dog that visits from time to time; about a fun Italian lunch, a donkey trotting down the hallway and coronation chicken. Through her eyes I saw the daffodils flower outside her window and always knew when the pheasant was visiting. All these things brought Mum great joy and earlier this year I went there and saw it all for myself. Thank you Shannon Court for everything you did for Mum, I don't think anyone could have done more. And thank you from Mum too, I know she would want us to say that.
Mum was only there for a few months and was initially confused, due to dementia, not being in her childhood home, but the staff were caring and kind to her and she appeared more settled after a few weeks, although would still want to go home to see her mother. She had the option of joining the daily activities if she felt inclined and could go to her room for quiet time. Her room had a lovely dual aspect overlooking the enclosed garden on one side and the wider grounds and woods on the other. I knew between visits that she was safe and well looked after by the lovely staff.
I'm happy here, especially in this room. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Really enjoy the entertainment and activities team. Enjoy the trips out. Very appreciative of my surroundings.
After a couple of hesitant days, Mum soon settled in and realised that she was in the best place for her needs. She joins in with the plentiful activities, has made a few good friends and has a brilliant interaction with the caring staff. If mum needs anything that is not “the norm”, she or I only have to ask for or suggest an activity and it is considered and something is arranged. Mum wants for nothing and regularly thanks me for introducing her to all of the lovely staff.
I spent two weeks at Shannon Court for respite care. I was treated with care and respect. My repeat medical prescription was undertaken professionally. The menu and dining room provided a good choice of meals, and three meals a day were available. I was registered with the local GP practice, and a district nurse attended to my leg dressing. In all, I have no doubt Shannon Court is a very well-managed care home for the elderly. There is a relaxed and contented atmosphere at the home.
Mum has settled into Shannon Court very well. The staff have been amazing from our very first visit. The grounds and garden areas are so nice and kept in very high condition. Rooms are very nice, bright, clean, etc, and the carers are so nice and gentle, and nothing is too much for them. This is a first-class care home, and it's five stars plus.
The leadership of this home really inspires confidence. The manager is professional, responsive and reliable. He sets the tone of ”this is your (aka resident’s) home. And we are privileged to look after you“. Shannon Court also has some incredible staff. And we’d like to thank them for their care. Empathy and compassion are essential qualities, and most have that. Unfortunately, all homes seem to have to use agency from time to time, and I guess staff have off days; there have been a couple of occasions when I feel my mum has not received the tenderness she needs. Admission was bumpy primarily because the hospital made copious medication errors that took time to sort. Shannon Court worked hard to solve these with us, and they reply to emails promptly. The maintenance has taken much longer to sort out than we would have liked. When a person only has four square walls to look at these delays seem much longer. Overall, we are delighted that our dear mother and Grandmother are settled and cared for here.
My wife had a stroke in 2016, and I have been her full-time carer since then at home until November 2022. She had deteriorated to the point when I could no longer cope, even with the help of professional support carers coming in every day. She was admitted to a care home where she receives 24-hour care. I cannot say she is happy there, but she accepts she is beyond living at home, and we are both grateful for the care and kindness she receives.
My mum is 87 with advanced dementia, and the care she receives at Shannon Court is excellent. She is always treated as an individual and with respect. This month was her birthday; it was lovely to celebrate with her and to be made so welcome with lunch being provided for us all. Mum loves seeing her little dog, who is always welcomed on visits.
My mother is 95 - 96 in November. Never been the easiest person to please. The team at Shanon Court have stuck with her to become comfortable, indeed a much happier person, which of course, has had a positive impact on our family. I find the home manager approachable, helpful, and caring.
My parents are both at Shannon Court, and I have been reassured by the management and staff throughout the early months of their settling in. Staff are kind, and there are always activities on offer if residents wish to participate throughout the week. My mother particularly enjoys having her hair done, and this simple thing always makes her feel special. The grounds are beautiful, and the home feels caring. I have liked that it feels like a real place rather than a glitzy hotel - it feels like a home and is peaceful. My parents have differing needs, and Shannon Court has been able to accommodate them both, which has meant a huge amount to me and my sister. Being able to keep our parents together is pivotal to their happiness, and this has been understood and facilitated by the home. The management continues to assess our parents and has been helpful, reassuring and responsive to all my questions as we began to navigate this new phase in all our lives.
