View Full Details of Surrey HillsVery happy with overall care for Dad. Staff helpful and very friendly. Dad appears happy and well fed. I would like to know when dad is put on medication he was put on antibiotics Tuesday and I only found out Thursday which effect him and makes him sleepy.
All staff very friendly and for the last four years have always been kind and caring with all residents and visitors. We travel 45 minutes to visit my partner and could move him closer but feel he may not be so well looked after with affection.
The care afforded to my mother has been good. She is looked after well can seems content.
The care the team provides is absolutely outstanding. I am more relaxed knowing my mum is so cared for, she is treated with the upmost respect and dignity. I have never had any concerns, if there has been anything we have needed or asked everything has been met and questions answered. All staff are amazing, keep me updated with any issues if there are any. Fantastic, thank you for everything you do.
The staff at the home are always welcoming and friendly. The residents are clean and comfortably dressed. They have very well-prepared and nourishing meals. Every member of staff are caring, and helpful and my brother is happy here.
The staff are always kind and friendly. Wish they were name tags, like to call them by name.
Surrey Hills Care Home is a lovely place. The staff are very kind and extremely helpful. They have so much time, and patience and give lots of support to the residents. They do arts and crafts and music sessions and really try to engage everyone. I am so grateful for the care and support they show my father-in-law.
My wife is very happy considering she is unable to communicate with staff. They look after her well and are always smiling. They always go the extra mile to attend to her needs and always make me very welcome when visiting. Her ongoing care is paramount to me and the home cares for all our needs. Surrey Hills is well-maintained and a happy home.
As a family, we are all very happy with the care and treatment that my wife has received since coming to Surrey Hulls. She enjoys the company and support that she receives from the nursing and care staff.
Christmas dinner put on for residents and families was a truly great experience, allowing a chance to eat and meet together just as the true meaning of Christmas. So pleased after the last three years for Christmas dinner, we did not meet my Dad because he was too far.
I had power of attorney for this lady and was also a friend. The treatment she received throughout her 20-month stay here was exemplary; the staff were invariably kind and attentive to her, which was mirrored in the way that I was received and treated on my visits to the home. Everywhere was spotless, and the facilities were excellent. She always said to me she couldn't believe how lucky she felt to be here and that every request was met promptly and with kindness. An all-around excellent home, and I particularly appreciated the level of communication with me throughout her stay.
My partner was admitted to Surrey Hills last march (2021) at the time I was a bit apprehensive, but I needn't have been, the manager and staff are all brilliant and caring and my partner seems quite happy there ( in his own way) I keep saying I am going to book myself in there.
On the occasions my wife has phoned and booked our visits, one lady has always been most polite and accommodating. He always seems to be groomed and clean. Two members of staff seem very caring and give us an update on his well-being. The home is clean, and every resident appears to be quite happy. Qe have seen the food menu, which is good and am told there are things to keep everyone interested.
Mum has only been here for one week so far. Have just come to visit, and she seems to be settling in and says she likes it! I feel the staff are very nice and kind, and Mum thinks so too. Looking forward to the new decor and furniture in Mum's room, plus the garden furniture.
My mum entered Surrey Hills in late January 2020 and sadly passed away in the nursing home in early December 2020. Her experience (and mine) of her life in the home was fundamentally affected by Covid-19 pandemic conditions and restrictions. Understandably, this year has been marked by incredibly difficult conditions and loss for so many people, particularly those living in care homes, and we were no exception. Nevertheless, I am extremely grateful to the management and all staff for the loving care and support they provided to my mum throughout those ten months of her stay, and also to me during the last two weeks of her life. My impression of the home is of a compassionate and caring environment for older people with nursing care needs. In my view, it has a relaxed and inclusive management approach, yet best practice is never compromised. My warmest thanks and appreciation to all staff, I shall never forget you.
Our aunt, who was 99 years of age, was admitted to Surrey Hills care home back in March 2020. With the Covid virus stopping visits to see our aunt meant that we have only seen her about five times since March. My partner and I found the management team and all their carers couldn't have done more to make her stay more comfortable, they were very professional and caring towards us and our aunt, right up to her short time stay, till she passed away on December 2nd. We found Surrey Hills to be a very happy and clean home, the best I've seen, so a big thank you to all the staff and especially the management team for their kind and professional attitude. Many thanks, a fine example of how a home should be run.
Mum has been at Surrey Hills for nearly 3 years now and is very happy/settled there most of the time. She spent time in hospital last year, which was quite distressing for her, but she settled back in the home quite quickly. The staff and management are always kind and treat mum with great dignity and are also very kind and caring towards my concerns about mum and if any problems arise they are very quick to address them.
We recently attended the Barbecue that was held at Surrey Hills on 25th June. It was such an incredibly fun event. Mum was clapping and singing along to the live musician, it was a joy to see. The manager and all staff are to be congratulated on hosting such a fun fundraiser. We actually won three prizes, but re-donated them so that more funds could be raised. The donut wall was inspired (delicious donuts as well). The staff worked really hard to ensure that residents not only ate very well with the tasty food that was on offer, but had a really good time as well. Mum was talking about it for days afterwards. Staff were dancing singing and taking part so that they ensured that this event was enjoyed by families and residents as well. Just a shame that the weather let us down. Looking forward to the next one! Thank you once again to the manager and her fantastic staff.
My mother moved into Surrey Hills in early May 2019. Myself and my family can't believe how quickly mum has settled in. We were able to choose the room we felt most suitable for mum. Mum was able to bring along her own furniture and all personal belongings. On the day mum moved in shelves, pictures etc were put up in mum's room to help mum settle quickly. Mum has also had a birthday since arriving and a beautiful cake was made for her. Staff are always approachable and helpful. There is a real 'homely' atmosphere. An activities coordinator has recently been appointed and many future activities and outings are planned. I believe the home wishes to work together with residents and families to ensure consistent well-being is met.
My mother lived with us for two years until ill health saw her admitted to hospital for 9 weeks in November 2018, where she became quite depressed. The change since she has resided at Surrey Hills is amazing. I was so happy to see that her mobility, appetite and outlook completely changed for the better. This is almost entirely due to the wonderful staff, all of which are very helpful, informative of mum's current condition, and very welcoming when we visit. The environment is more like a domestic home, and a lot of credit has to go to the manager. The manager is extremely caring and genuinely passionate in her dealings with staff and family visitors and especially in her sympathetic handling and care of the residents in her charge. I cannot recommend this residential home enough. A big thank you to the manager and all of her staff.
