View Full Details of Bethune CourtThe first month of my mum's stay at Bethune Court has been a rollercoaster of emotions for her and the family. The staff at Bethune Court have helped to smooth this transition and cannot be praised enough. Nothing is too much trouble for them as they continue to put my mum's needs at the top of their agenda. Their door is always open and they are keen to offer advice and a smile. The home itself is clean, fresh and welcoming and I would not hesitate in recommending it for your loved one.
We are very pleased with the care Mum has received since moving to Bethune Court. Having previously been very independent, she initially found it difficult to adjust to living in a care home but with the support of all the kind and patient staff, she has slowly but surely started to settle. She enjoys taking part in some of the many and varied activities on offer. Unfortunately, Mum has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and the staff are doing everything they can to support both Mum and us, as a family, on this journey.
What started out as a trial respite has turned into a permanent stay as I have had a health problem diagnosed. I couldn't be happier with Bethune Court. Mum has settled in so well, she loves the food and is making friends. She has gone from being at home, feeling isolated to chatty and cheerful. From the very first visit, we've been made welcome and the communication has been great. Thank you to all concerned for making the transition so smooth.
My mother is so very happy at Bethune Court, she has settled in with the staff. Your care team are supportive and caring. My mother is treated with dignity and respect. We are so very happy with her care. All of your staff are perfect, they keep us involved with our mum's health and well-being.
The home is friendly and welcoming. Everyone is so helpful and polite. Mum has settled in very well and is very happy with the activities. She went on an outing recently and enjoyed it very much. If I ever have a query, the admin staff are wonderful and so helpful.
Family and friends who visited my wife on her two-and-a-half-week stay all reported she was happy and cheerful and that the staff were excellent. This was a great relief to me as it was her first experience of a respite stay.
A beautiful view in a lovely, large room and friendly, caring staff have helped my aunt settle quickly after the difficulty of having to leave her home. The team at Bethune Court have been extremely supportive in both finding her a place where she can be happy, after unsuccessful viewings of other homes in the area and ensuring that administrative needs are dealt with quickly and simply. As I live far from the area it is particularly important to know that my aunt is well cared for, and from my experience so far I would definitely recommend this care home.
Excellent home, all staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. My mother is very happy here. Her room is very pleasant and very clean and staff are always popping in to see she's OK throughout the day. A very professionally run home and everyone is always available for any questions we may have. I couldn't recommend this care home highly enough.
Bethune Court is just beautiful. The building is set out in a way to give residents plenty of room to move around and longes are very visitor friendly. The staff are absolutely wonderful, always smiling, polite and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. I feel confident that my mother is well cared for, and it is always a pleasure to visit the home.
The staff at Bethune Court are caring and kind. My mother recently had a fall and had to go to A and E. The staff were very helpful from start to finish when after 8 hours of waiting to be seen I brought my mother back at midnight, I had been in communication with the staff throughout giving updates and then reassuring me that they would be able to do anything needed to help when she returned. My mother has dementia and was very confused throughout. The minute we arrived back the staff were kind and empathetic to her needs. The two members of the night staff who were caring for her were just so nice and caring that it allowed me to leave her knowing she was well cared for. The whole team that works at Bethune Court is considerate and very helpful from the cleaners, to the admin team to the carers and the management. I would certainly recommend Bethune Court to any family thinking of getting residential care for their relative.
Since my mother, now 98, arrived five years ago she has had excellent care from the the kind and very helpful staff. I have always felt welcome and been able to communicate with them about dealing with my mother's increasing frailty. The modern, well-decorated building set in attractive gardens has a pleasant, upbeat atmosphere, and the meals provided are tasty, nutritious and well-presented. The thoughtful, compassionate staff provide a fine service and I feel able to rely on them.
The home is exceedingly clean and tidy and the residents are well cared for. Food is of a high standard. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Rooms are all clean, bright and airy. The only negative is the lack of daily activities, quite a few of the residents say they feel these are nowhere as good as they were twelve months ago.
I have been very impressed by the high standard of care my Godmother has received since she has been at Bethune Court. She had a few age-related issues before she came in and all of these problems were dealt with very professionally and efficiently. The room she has is very nice with a large ensuite wet room. The room has a lovely view of the sea to Beachy Head which she really enjoys. The meals are very tasty and nutritious and the care staff picked up on a swallowing problem she had and called in the professionals to assess. All of the care staff and domestic staff are very friendly and attentive to her needs. The people in the office are also very approachable and happy to assist with any queries. To be honest, I was very worried about how my godmother would settle in as she was a little reluctant to leave her flat, but I have been very happily surprised that the transition has been no problem. I would highly recommend Bethune Court.
Excellent care home, highly satisfactory.
It was one of the hardest decisions and having to find the best care home for my mum, but over the past few years the staff at Bethune Court have been fantastic and understand my mum’s needs. I know she is safe and well looked after and when I visit my mum is happy and the staff very friendly. Great choice and highly recommended.
As an ex-care home manager, these two weeks of respite have been a wonderful experience, being the resident being cared for. The care home is clean, well organised, and the staff are very helpful, polite and efficient. The food is good and well-presented. I have enjoyed my two weeks. I used my time getting to know the residents and joining in the activities.
Mum has been to Bethune Court previously for a period of respite care. As always when we went to drop Mum off for this respite period she was welcomed back with open arms. The staff are warm and friendly and nothing is too much bother. We had lunch in the dining room with Mum. We congratulated the cook on a lovely meal. The home is clean, modern and well-equipped. Mum really enjoyed all the activities. Mum has some issues with her memory. When she comes back from her stay she is always more chatty and with it, leading us to think that she is regularly engaged with and stimulated when she is in the home. When Mum left all the staff were sorry to see her go and asked her to come back again soon. This was especially so for one young man who said that Mum was the nicest person he had ever met and that he would really miss her. The finance officer is such a great help and supports sorting out the payment required from social services, she really makes things easy.
The care provided by the staff at Bethune Court is excellent. I cannot fault the kindness and patience that they show to my mum and all of the residents. The home is clean, safe and secure. There is very much a can-do attitude and every attempt is made to keep all residents engaged regardless of their level of need. I would not hesitate to recommend the home and in fact, I have done so.
Mum has been at Bethune for over 18 months now and we have been delighted with the care she has received. The staff are wonderful, kind, caring, professional, patient and very respectful of Mum's wishes and needs. There are many activities Mum can join in with if she wishes and we have been able to put items of Mum's own furniture, ornaments and pictures into her room so that it feels familiar and like home to her. Bethune has a happy, family atmosphere and we are so pleased that Mum is being so well looked after.
I am so grateful to have been able to find such a lovely care home for my father. The members of staff are genuinely happy, welcoming and friendly. They are exceptionally caring and act on any requests or queries posed to them. The premises, both externally and internally, are clean, bright and cheerful. The building is kept at a comfortable temperature. My father has picked up physically, mentally and emotionally since becoming a resident. He is well cared for – daily washes and shaves, regular enjoyable meals, frequent cups of tea with biscuits and a full laundry service, including regular changes of bedding. There is a comprehensive timetable of suitable activities for residents to take part in. It appears to be not just a lovely place for the residents but also a lovely place to work.
