View Full Details of Filsham LodgeThe care my son has received is good but the home is not suited to a young stroke patient. The room was very small with no en-suite. He needed physio which was difficult to achieve satisfactory results in such a restricted area.
My partner although he was only in Filsham Lodge a few months before his passing, the care and attention given to him from all the staff involved in his care was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, all aspects of his care were given lovingly by the staff. The home was always clean and tidy. I could not have wished for a better home for my partner to be cared for in. I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for everything they did for him and myself as you all made what was a very difficult time for me so much easier to bear. Thank you so very much.
There is much kindness and care here. My relative is settled and content even though her advanced dementia makes it difficult for her to understand or communicate. There is always a warm welcome for me and I feel supported and communication is good.
Our mum has been a resident at Filsham Lodge for just over a year. She has received kindness and respect from all the staff. Whilst suffering from Dementia means she is unable to communicate fully they make sure she is comfortable and present in the general day to day life. The snacks and meals provided look balanced and tasty. The communication between family and the team is fair and open, such that if there are any concerns I am able to raise them to get resolutions.
Mum has been at Filsham Lodge for 2 years and has responded well, despite her complex and challenging needs, to the kindness and professionalism shown by all staff in their different roles. She is well cared for, with various emerging issues resolved along the way. We are always contacted, consulted and kept informed about her health needs and any incidents.
What a lovely place this is, got a real buzz about it. Such a warm welcome, and even offer of a cuppa when you come through the door. The home is bright and clean, bedrooms are of adequate size, and pleasantly decorated. Good variety of tasty food, which looks good, and the residents like it. All the staff are friendly, and a special mention to all the cheerful carers doing an amazing job of looking after my husband, for which I am truly grateful. Thank you for making me feel so welcome.
Mum was well cared for by all the staff she went to Filsham very quickly as she was not able to look after herself so needed to be safe and cared for as she was living alone but needed more support. She had a lovely room which was very comfortable for her. The staff were very supportive of her and myself.
I have always been greeted by very friendly and helpful staff, whether management, nurses or helpers. Staff are always attentive to users and are dealt with in a dignified manner. The home is always clean and nothing is hidden. Meals look wholesome and filling and there is always a ready supply of snacks, tea and coffee. My friend seems settled and happy in her surroundings.
The staff of Filsham Lodge cared for my husband for nearly three years until his death in July. This included the period covered by the Covid pandemic. They were very caring and compassionate, and I was very happy with the home.
My husband transferred to Filsham Lodge due to him requiring nursing care. From day one of his stay with you I only had admiration for the care he received. He was treated with dignity and respect and although not able to converse in his last few days, he was given individual treatment for his needs. The G.P. was called in as soon as it was necessary. Nothing was too much trouble. We as a family, wish to thank you all for your love and care shown to us. God bless you all.
From the time my husband was admitted into Filsham Lodge until his very last day their care and support were absolutely outstanding. The Nurses couldn’t have done enough for him and the carers made it a pleasure to visit him even when times got tough. Our family are so grateful for the time they allowed us at the end to be with him. Would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of a 5-star nursing home.
My husband has stayed twice at Filsham Lodge so far for Respite Care. He has mild dementia and was understandably apprehensive first stay. The nursing team were very welcoming and he soon settled and enjoyed his time there. He had excellent care and they continued his home routine enabling continuity. The second time he stayed he looked forward to his stay and seeing the nurses again allowing me to have a break without worrying about him.
Mum had to go straight into care on the day our dad passed away and it was, without doubt, the most horrendous and totally overwhelming day for my brother and me. On arrival, we left our dear mum in the welcoming and understanding hands of the team. Sadly Mum was only in their care for 4 months before passing away this month. Care homes often receive negative press, but all I can say is that in our experience, the whole team (and I really do mean the whole team) were exceptional. Mum was treated with care, compassion and dignity. We were treated compassionately and received tremendous support. It's a very demanding job in normal times, but it's exceptionally demanding at the moment, however, nothing was too much trouble when we called to speak to Mum and on the occasions that we were allowed to see Mum in the welcoming Covid-secure area, all team members always seemed happy and there was a positive, cheery atmosphere. Thank you all for everything that you did for Mum.
My mum has been residing at Filsham Lodge since February following a couple of falls and the onset of dementia. My wife and I had viewed other homes but none seemed to have the homely feel that Filsham did. The staff all appeared happy to be there, as did the residents who all looked clean and well cared for. The recent lockdown had made visiting impossible, but the management team went to great lengths to come up with a solution to the problem. It entails the temporary placement of a clear screen which is situated at the end of the entrance hallway. The whole area is cleaned before and after each visit and the visitor's temperature is also taken. They have certainly gone to a lot of effort to make visiting our loved ones possible, not to mention all the trekking around they do with a telephone in-between times. The bottom line is that it gives me great peace of mind to know that mum is being very well cared for and that I'll be notified if there are any problems or concerns. Keep it up.
Over the course of three years, my father spent time in a few different care homes as his illness sadly deteriorated and Filsham Lodge was the last. He was miserable in all of them except for Filsham Lodge and when I went to see him, it was clear why. Every member of staff from the management to the doctors, nurses and care staff were professional, kind, caring, sensitive and always offered a smile with a happy disposition. In all of the other care homes I've been to, the staff were (perhaps understandably) pretty noticeably miserable. The whole experience at Filsham was made so much better because the staff's optimism and friendly dispositions elevated the mood. I will forever be grateful for what the manager and her staff did for my father. Thank you.
Staff caring, fluid and nutrition well promoted. Good support and communication with residents and families.
Dad has really settled in well. Everyone is friendly and welcoming to all visitors especially to his 10-month-old great grandson and older brother with cuddles, juice, cakes always being offered, just like home! Improvements are constantly being made, lately, a gazebo, potted plants, and hanging baskets have been put outside the lounge which Dad loves to sit out in and chat with the other residents. It's a pleasure visiting, seeing him happy, well looked after and too well watered and fed as he would say. The staff are lovely, lots of different characters all adding that personal touch. Couldn't ask for more.
All permanent staff and management are kind and attentive. Food is good and rooms and lounge are light and comfortable. Visitors are made welcome and listened too.
The quality of care given to my father, who had late stage dementia, and the support we received as a family from all of the staff at Filsham Lodge was incredible. The staff were attentive, genuinely caring, gentle, professional and supportive to my Dad in his condition. The nurses were experienced and caring and I felt Dad was safe in their hands receiving the good medical care he needed and he had other conditions as well as dementia. My father recently sadly passed away and the team at Filsham Lodge were amazing, words cannot express the support, love, respect, care, patience and reassurance they gave us and Dad in supporting him at the end of his life - we could not have done it without them at such a scary, painful and difficult time. Dad's end of life care given by the staff meant he did not suffer, he was kept calm, pain-free, peaceful and settled with dignity which was so important to us as a family. I cannot recommend Filsham Lodge and the team highly enough.
My father spent the last 3 months of his life at Filsham Lodge. I found the staff to be caring and kind. Dad was alway freshly shaven and washed which was very important to me and there was always plenty of staff around. At the slightest hint of illness, they would call the doctor to attend and on his last day I was phoned immediately when the doctor advised things were not looking good. This enabled his wife, myself and my husband to be with him at the end which was peaceful. The home was always clean and they feed the residents well including lots of nice treats which I could see a lot of the residents enjoyed. The manager was always around if I needed a chat and I think she runs the place very well. I would recommend this home highly as a safe home with kind staff who will treat your loved one with gentleness and respect and you can rest assured they are safe in their care. It is not an easy job to do but they all seem to get on with it with a smile.
