View Full Details of Le Brun House LtdMy mother moved into Le Brun House for emergency respite care and stayed for 10 weeks. When she first arrived she was withdrawn, stubborn about accepting assistance with personal care and refusing to eat properly. The manager and her staff went above and beyond to help my mother settle. Her newly refurbished room at first was a little austere so some soft furnishings, pictures and teddies were installed and I took in photos from Mum's home. With lots of encouragement from the staff who are all very kind and supportive, she came out of her shell. Started eating better, taking part in activities and interacting with the other residents. She enjoyed the garden when the sun was out and the home provided ice lollies. The care is faultless. If I was to criticise Le Brun, I would say it feels tired. There is an overall lack of soft furnishings and the aesthetic is very utilitarian. Some living room furniture, soft lighting and houseplants would improve the ambience immeasurably.
My mum went into Le Brun on 9/12/21. It was a very worrying time. I have found all of the staff, kind, considerate, communicative and nothing is too much trouble. The manager is 100% on the game and she'll fight for the residents! The carers have been the best and are stars. My mum passed away this weekend and the carer who looked after her that day was kindness itself, she was fantastic with mum. The two members of staff during the evening again were fantastic and kind and allowed me to stay with mum. I would not hesitate to recommend Le Brun and its staff to anybody, whoever you have in there, they are in excellent hands. I think they deserve a big pay rise because whatever they are paid it's not enough. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
My dad came to Le Brun in December 2019, after spending six weeks as an emergency dementia entry to another care home outside of the Eastbourne area and since his arrival at Le Brun, the family and I could not have been happier with the treatment and care that he has received since day one. His happiness, wellbeing, appetite, speech and all-round general condition have improved greatly in the short time he has been at Le Brun, due to the attentive, supportive and wonderful care all the staff at Le Brun have given him. We greatly appreciate all the efforts taken by all the staff, from the catering, cleaning, carers, activity co-ordinator, nursing and management to keep all residents safe and happy, which has given myself and all my dad's family and friends the greatest reassurance in these troubling times, for which all the resident's family owe them our greatest thanks and support. The facilities available at Le Brun are excellent as well as the food and medical care provided by the staff to the residents.
Le Brun has been brilliant looking after my father who has dementia. Being able to see him through the posts that the Le Brun team put up on WhatsApp while we are here in Australia means we feel more connected and can see that he's well and enjoying the activities that the team are busy organising for the residents. The variety and number of activities have meant that the residents are kept engaged. My thanks go out to the Le Brun team.
My father has been a resident at Le Brun House for quite a few years now. We visit regularly at different times of the day and week. He's always well turned out. Has a lovely bright room which has his own toilet and shower. Always clean. We have provided a tv, radio, DVD player. It's well furnished. He is relaxed and happy. The staff engage with him. He's a bit of a joker and although the staff are very professional they also have a laugh and joke with him. It's such a relief to know he's happy. They have activities daily and people come in to entertain the residents...e.g. brass band, guitar players, even a little pony. The garden is absolutely beautiful. With plenty of space and tables and chair and parasols. Many times I've arrived to find dad in the garden drinking his tea enjoying the sun. Dad also helps with the garden sometimes ( a little bit of watering the plants etc). I highly recommend Le Brun House in Eastbourne.
We knew straight away that Le Brun House was the right one for my mum. It was clean, airy with very friendly staff that can't do enough for Mum or us. There are varied activities, and Mum has a lovely en-suite room with level access to the dining room and lounge. She seems happy there.
Mum has settled in really well, all staff are very caring and the home is well run and very clean. Her room is lovely there is always entertainment here. I would recommend this home.
I feel very fortunate that my husband is living in Le Brun House. I know he is well looked after in all respects and they truly care for him. One of the things I appreciate the most is the stimulating and proactive environment that is present. The residents are kept involved in so many things which create variety and fun. I always find the home very clean and despite their busy routines the staff always find time to make me feel welcome. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home, it is definitely one of the best.
I cannot thank the staff at Le Brun House Care Home enough for all their wonderful care for both my mum, until she passed away a year ago, and my dad, who is still a resident. The activities provided are stimulating and fun, the staff go the extra mile, and there is both friendliness and respect for the residents and also their families. Thank you, Le Brun, it is so appreciated.
Le Brun House has a lovely atmosphere and is warm, welcoming, clean and tidy. The carers are truly wonderful, and make a very difficult and emotional time much easier to bear, with their respect, care and support for the residents and their families. There is plenty of entertainment, exercise and outings to keep the resident's happy and occupied. I have joined in on many occasions with Mum, and the parties held throughout the year are always fun. Mum is well looked after with food and drinks throughout the day. Mum is treated as an individual, which is really important to me, and I can visit her at any time, and I have always been made to feel welcome. I am extremely happy that Mum has spent the last two years here. I would have no hesitation in recommending Le Brun House and all their amazing staff.
Having to find a home for my husband was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Le Brun was the first I visited and I knew straight away he would be happy. I was so right and he settled in very quickly. From day one he became a member of the Le Brun family. All the staff are so caring and always professional. My husband is loved and looked after so well. I can’t ask for more. The food is lovely, well cooked and there is always a choice. The home has recently been decorated and so much thought has gone into the improvements. A job well done. The home is so friendly and homely. Families and relatives always have a warm welcome when we visit. All the staff put a lot of effort in everything they do for the residents. In the summer a concert and BBQ was arranged for residents, staff and families, which was a great success. Many of the staff dressed up for Halloween recently. There is a Christmas party, which we are all looking forward to as last year was such fun. I would recommend Le Brun without hesitation.
We are extremely pleased and very grateful that our mum was accepted into Le Brun House. We were all very nervous and felt worried about our mum going into a home but Le Brun, what can I say, it is extremely fantastic. The staff are fantastic. All the staff are very professional, patient and very friendly. It is a very comfortable, warm and loving home with no nasty smells, nicely decorated and clean. My mum is very happy here and this is a mum that never wanted to go into a home but in the end, she had to but she is very happy, much happier. The swelling of her legs have gone down, she is walking about now, she looks and is so much healthier. Her ensuite room is lovely, she is able to walk down the corridor to the dining room, TV room or the quite all-glass roof conservatory and watch the traffic, do puzzles, etc. There are plenty of activities for them, staff are always keeping an eye on my mum. They leave her door open so that she is not shut away and knock on her door to see if she wants a cup of coffee and cake.
My dad has been a resident in Le Brun House since July, he was placed as an emergency respite resident but is now a permanent resident. My husband and I are happy and relieved that dad is now part of the Le Brun family, he is treated with respect and his needs met. The staff have gone out of their way to make him and us feel welcome. Dad is happy and has settled in well. He enjoys the food and activities and interacting with other residents and the staff. When we visit, we are treated well too. We would be happy to recommend Le Brun House to anyone looking for a care home for their relative.
