View Full Details of Cedarwood House Care HomeI would like to say a massive thank you to the manager and her team for their continuing care for my mum. She hadn't been well for a few weeks and was in bed for awhile. The staff were so loving and helpful, really caring for mum and encouraging her to eat and get better. It was amazing that with their understanding and dedication, mum started walking again with assistance and is back in the lounge, eating, drinking and enjoying life again. The manager was very supportive when I had my concerns, thank you to all the lovely team.
My husband has been one of Cedarwood's residents for just over 20 months now and throughout that period I have been privileged to be able to see, on a daily basis, the unstinting compassion and dedicated care so willingly extended to all residents. Recently my husband fell ill and immediately a doctor was called. Sadly it was discovered that my husband had COVID-19. I was impressed with the reaction of the team. They immediately pulled out all the stops working together in this taxing time. They kept the residents safe and calm and willingly tackled a difficult situation ensuring that everyone received the greatest of care. This inclusive attitude was extended to me as they are all aware of how I tend to worry about my husband. No matter how many times I called for updates they were always sympathetic and supportive Even calling to check on me. I cannot thank everyone enough and am so grateful that I found such a wonderful home for my husband. He looks at everyone as his special friend.
My mum recently moved to Cedarwood House, in June, and I'm so pleased with the way the carers have been looking after her. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are all so sympathetic, and caring and treat all the residents with the utmost dignity. The manager and her team are all lovely and the communication has been excellent. I've even been offered food and drinks when I visit. Cedarwood House care home is in a lovely countryside location, it feels like a normal home and I would thoroughly recommend it to anybody who's looking for great, friendly care for their loved ones. Thank you very much, I'm not sure what we would have done without you.
Dad was put into Cedarwood because he lost mobility and was no longer able to be at home with us. The staff and manager were totally amazing to both Dad and his family during Dad’s time at the home. Despite him being unable to move much he still managed to join in on activities with staff and they gave him an awesome birthday!
My husband has been in Cedarwood since February and I couldn’t be happier with the way he is being looked after. The most important thing about a care home is the care, and here it is excellent. The lovely staff is kind, professional, dedicated and so hard-working, and it is such a relief to know that my precious husband is in safe hands. Cosy, homely Cedarwood is ideal for him, in the countryside he has always known, and with people who understand his needs. Thank you so much for saving us both.
My husband is very settled at Cedarwood where his care and treatment are exemplary. The staff are always cheerful and kind. It remains a comfort and relief to me that he is being looked after so well and I am grateful to you all.
My husband has resided in Cedarwood for the past 14 months. My respect and admiration for the entire team continue to increase and impress me. Recently my husband suffered from a nasty Urinary tract infection (UTI). He had not been his usual self so the entire team went into immediate action. It was a Saturday morning but a duty doctor provided telephone assistance. While together two of the girls took temperature, pulse and blood pressure. Antibiotics were necessary, a team member on their day off dropped everything, drove to the chemist, collected the tablets and within less than an hour he had his first dose. The support which they gave me was just wonderful. Without their combined help he would not be recovering so quickly.
Excellent care given despite staff shortages at times. Such caring staff from manager down. The building /parking has limitations but this does not affect the care given. I am very happy for my father to be a resident here.
The staff do a very difficult job, very well, the care home is generally kept very clean and tidy and all the residents appear happy. Communications are maintained very professionally and health issues are taken seriously. Whenever I visit, I'm made to feel welcome. I am confident that my mother is being as well looked after as I could hope.
Mum has now been at Cedarwood for nearly a year now and is really settled. Staff are great and incredibly supportive and nothing is too much trouble. Knowing Mum is receiving such a high level of care means that we have peace of mind and she is happy, safe and secure. Great management and staff team can not be praised enough and their commitment to the resident's welfare and care needs is second to none.
My dad has been at Cedarwood Care Home for over 2 years and during that time the staff have always been extremely kind, caring and patient towards him and me. The home is very clean, the staff are always friendly and willing to help, and there is plenty of food and cups of tea throughout the day. The care home is tucked away off the main road surrounded by countryside and my dad's room has the most beautiful view out the window; this was a very important reason for choosing Cedarwood as my dad always loved the great outdoors and watching the birds come down to feed. I would definitely recommend Cedarwood to people looking for somewhere to care for their loved ones. A big thank you to all the staff, you are amazing and I really appreciate everything you do.
My husband has now been in the care of Cedarwood for twelve months and I have been thrilled with the care he has received in that time. It has certainly proved to me that small is best. I would recommend it to anyone looking for care for someone with dementia.
A well-managed, caring home. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The home is clean. I feel confident my loved one is well looked after. The food generally looks homemade and tasty. It is a shame the staff are made to complete so much paperwork although this is not the fault of the home.
I cannot thank the manager and her team enough for helping us take my father into Cedarwood. We were all so upset when we had to make this move, but this team have always been there for us with a smile and and a helping hand. They are kind and knowledgeable and nothing is too much for them, which helps give us peace. I would not want him to be anywhere else. The building is a little tired, but that's part of its charm. It is set down a quiet no through road and looks out over countryside, which is so important to my dad, having spent most of his life outside. Thank you to the manager, don't change a thing, you're brilliant.
Thank you for looking after my father-in-law so well. He is always positive about things when we visit him and we see him enjoying and appreciating the care and attention he is given every day by the staff and others at Cedarwood. We very much appreciate what you all do for him. Thank you!
We chose Cedarwood House Care Home for its quiet location in the countryside and its size for Mum. It took Mum a couple of weeks to settle, but the manager and staff assisted in the transition, and Mum is really settled now. We receive regular feedback and full updates when we visit. Staff are very engaging and always happy to assist with anything required.
Since my grandmother has been living in Cedarwood House Care Home, I have noticed a great improvement in her well-being, from her wanting to join in activities, eating better, starting to form friendships with the other residents and staff, my grandmother seems happy and content in her new home. Thank you Cedarwood for making this hard decision of having to put family members you care about into care, the right one for all the family, and especially my grandmother who now smiles again.
From moving my grandmother into Cedarwood House Care Home, the staff have been extremely helpful in settling my grandmother in. I have found that she has improved in herself by wanting to eat in the dining room and mixing with the other residents. The manager has gone beyond her job role to make sure that everything went as smoothly as possible which can be a very difficult and stressful time for family members, so thank you to the Cedarwood team.
My mother came in for nine days of respite care while we went on holiday. She was happy and said all the care staff were very kind and was always there to help her. I found the staff very friendly and accommodating. I would be happy for her to stay at Cedarwood House Care Home in the future.
On the 11th January 2021, my wife who had been a resident at Cedarwood House for two years, passed away from Covid and Alzheimer’s. I know all the staff fought tooth and nail to keep Covid out of the home and this they managed for over a year, for which I am truly thankful to them. The last year has been difficult for residents, relatives and staff due to the various restrictions Covid forced on all of us, but I feel Cedarwood House did their best to keep the home running, often with reduced staffing levels. I was contacted early morning on the 11th January and advised my wife had had a bad night and to prepare myself. I was promised that someone would stay with her until the time came. Thank you for staying with her until 11am when she passed away peacefully. I do not think the home could have done any more than they did and I feel that my wife passed away with dignity and with her favourite staff member by her side. I would not hesitate to recommend this home for short or long term care.
