View Full Details of St Margaret'sExcellent staff, very friendly, made Mum feel at home and put my mind at ease knowing she was safe and well looked after.
My mother has been in the care home for the past seven years. She settled quickly due to the care staff. The building is old with character, and she loved her room and the activities provided. The family have been happy with her being in St Margaret's.
The home is clean and homely. All the staff are kind, friendly and very helpful. I can't fault any of the staff.
My mum was a resident at St Margaret's for over eight years, and my aunt for five years. The carers and manager really know their residents and manage their individual "foibles" superbly, often injecting humour to diffuse anxiety. My aunt's health and mobility improved beyond expectation while she was there. Residents are encouraged to mix and socialise with lots of activities on offer, but their wishes are respected at all times. Pre-Covid, there were open events for families too, which helped everyone get to know each other better. It would be nice if that could happen again. The food is excellent, varied and freshly cooked. St Margaret's management of Covid was exemplary, and despite not being able to visit during the full lockdown, I had every confidence that Mum was being well looked after. The end of Mum's life was managed sensitively and compassionately, and I was very grateful she could stay there for end-of-life care. Thank you all for the love and care you gave my mum.
A first experience for both of us. This was a two-week respite for me (wife) after an eighteen-month period of caring for my husband. It was a refreshing break for me. My husband was feeling overwhelmed initially about being in care. He was made to feel very welcome and cared for well. Initially, a room on the third floor was a bit daunting but managed well. Towards the end of the two-week slot, he was beginning to involve himself more with the life of the care home.
My Dad has been in St Margaret's now for about 18 months. The staff have always treated him with respect and encouraged him to be as independent as he possibly can. He is happy and settled; he is well looked after and has thrived in his environment. He enjoys the many activities there are on offer at St Margaret's and loves to sit outside in the garden when the warmer days allow him to. All of the team are friendly and happy; they are accommodating to him and the family, especially when we wish to visit, and they always do their absolute best for my dad. He loves the varied dining menu there is on offer to him daily. The home is clean and tidy and offers a very calm environment for all residents.
