View Full Details of Seaford Head Retirement HomeThe home had been a wonderful place for Mum. Their care and attention for Mum is second to none. The whole team that are working at the home are really professional but also very caring and have personal interest in the wellbeing of the residents. I would be happy to recommend the home.
My mum has been at Seaford Head Care Home for about a year... and I can honestly say that she's happy, well looked after and cared for. Seaford Head Care Home has a very homely feel about it... and the staff are amazing!
My mum has settled well into the care home. She is being looked after by excellently trained staff who understand her needs. Mum has built strong relationships with a number of the staff. The care home understands her physical, emotional and social needs and communicates with me to ensure there is nothing else that she needs. My mum trusts the staff and this is reassurance for me that she is receiving the best care. I am happy with the communication that takes place between myself and the carers I feel informed about how my mum is. I am regularly informed about her weight and any medication changes. My mum is regularly going out on short trips which are organised by the home. I feel these help to stimulate her and are beneficial for her wellbeing.
This is a home-from-home in a well-supported environment. The home is clean, warm and easy for someone with special mental and health needs. It is ideal for people with visual impairment as it is easy to negotiate in natural light in shared rooms. The staff are friendly to users and relatives and happy to accommodate both. The home feedback on how things are going and it sounds like they have activities every week to stimulate and interest the residents. I feel very reassured by the home's approach and welcome.
Mum went into Seaford Head Retirement Home about 14 months ago now. The peace of mind my brothers and I have felt ever since is incredible, Mum has dementia and looking after Mum between myself and my brothers had become very difficult indeed. When Mum went into Seaford Head the change was unbelievable from the outset, Mum is so well cared for by all the staff and so much happier with the stimulation of other people. I cannot speak highly enough about this home. Myself and my brothers can now be sons again rather than unqualified carers and take Mum out and visit weekly, nothing seems too much trouble for the staff always obliging and so caring to Mum.
My dad has been at the home for over 6 months now and has settled in very well. His health has improved, he has put on weight and receives all the medical care he needs. The staff at the home are all friendly and professional and can't do enough for my dad.
My mum was at Seaford Head Retirement Home for over two years, and for Mum, it was like going from home to home. Mum's care was outstanding. She was supported by the staff the whole time she was there. Mum had Parkinson's with Lewy Bodies Disease, and the staff ensured she had all the equipment needed to support her with the disease. The staff were kind and caring. Communication was excellent, and we were always kept informed of how Mum was. I can not thank the staff enough for everything they did for Mum.
Seaford Head has always put my wife's care first. I know she is in safe hands. Being a small home, it is a very personal and dedicated team, who makes her feel like "one of the family". They are resourceful, and any alterations to my wife's health have never phased them. They always keep me informed of how things are and are very welcoming during visits.
We live with my mum and had spent some time looking for somewhere she could stay for a couple of weeks while we had a break. I had not considered Seaford, but a work colleague said they may have a vacancy. Having had a prior experience with a care home which was not the best, I was worried and concerned that my mum would be kept safe and happy. So glad I emailed for info as from the moment we first visited with Mum, I know that she would be well looked after and cared for. The manager and staff were very welcoming and kind, the house was clean and tidy, and most importantly, the other residents seemed very happy and content. I can honestly say that everything about this home got rid of any concerns I had, had. Being experienced with dementia care, Mum fitted in well, and her 'little ways' were not a problem. When we went to pick her up, she was happy, relaxed, chatty and clearly had enjoyed her stay. I would not hesitate in Mum staying long term when she can not live at home anymore.
I visited a few times over her stay here, and each time she was happy, well cared for and seemed to be enjoying the activities with the other residents. The home was always clean and tidy, and the staff seemed nice and attentive. Her bedroom was very homely and personal to her, which I know was important. My overall impression of the home and its care was very good.
I have nothing but praise and thanks to the manager and the staff for looking after my father and welcoming him into their home. Dad was a resident for just under 2-years and was always happy there. He was well cared for and gained weight with the good food offered every day. Sadly my dad has just passed, and the dignity everyone afforded him was wonderful. They have also been a great support to me. I would recommend the home to anyone having to make the difficult decision to place a loved one into care.
I chose Seaford Head Retirement Home for my Mum based on the fact that the staff know their residents really well and are genuinely interested in their lives. Staff are kind and thoughtful; residents are encouraged to be sociable, and it feels more like a family setting than a business. Despite advanced dementia, Mum is content and settled. I was anxious about her going into care, but it’s been easier than I thought.
The staff are very supportive. The home is small, which helps with Mum's illness; it makes it feel cosy and secure. I would definitely recommend it to others. They were exceptional throughout Covid and kept the residents safe and a priority at all times.
My elderly mother suffers with worsening dementia and is cared for in a professional and caring way by the staff at Seaford Head. I cannot fault the care she receives and communication with the care home management is good.
